NFPA and Jack Harper Revisit Fire Power

- In 1986, NFPA® produced the award-winning video “Fire Power!” and collaborated with Jack Harper, a reporter from the Boston ABC affiliate WCVB, to narrate the story as the dramatic events unfolded. In 2011, Jack Harper and NFPA met again.
The film orchestrated a staged house fire in order to show how quickly fire spreads, the life-threatening conditions that develop, and the destructive aftermath.
In another demonstration, the same setup is used for the cause of the fire, and fire development. Once again, flames quickly take over the living room. This time, a residential fire sprinkler system activates and extinguishes the fire.

I remember seeing the original 1986 film as a second grader.
I wish the entire original 1986 film was available in DVD quality, and not just these little snippets mixed in with updated commentary from 2010.
You can buy the DVD online. But it's expensive
The original is on here as Burn the experiment
Great job NFPA! You did so great on this!
In my 4th grade class a firefighter came and show my students this vid
I watched this when I was 3
Can you upload the whole video please?
Well done. Too bad most communities and civilians don't get it. Nice video!
NFPA, why did you cut out the best part of the video where the sprinkler controls the fire?
Yeah, it's a Smoke Sentinel.
I used this video when I was in college for a fire safety project I was doing for a class
I used to watch this when I was 3
Does anybody have the 1986 video uploaded anywhere?
I think it's called "Plan to get out alive"
Look under "nfpafromvideotrainingdvd". You'll find it, albeit in poor VHS quality.
Burn the experiment part one and two
