I love these. I picked up 4 and don’t find them messy at all. I just tap the little sponge applicator on my finger and then tap on my eye. I’m a one at a time eyeshadow person so I haven’t tried mixing. Lasts all day even without a primer for me. They all look beautiful on you.

I’ve been learning how to use them, and I really like them. Every time I wore them, I felt like my eye make up, looked very elegant.

Honestly, I have been so pleasantly surprised of the Cle de Peau lip products!! They are expensive, but so so worth it

I love these, I have the two deepest shades. 414 Murier Noir is a deep purple, I can lay down a white cheek highlighter all over the lid, pigment on top and it’s a spring lilac shade. The highlighter adds even more sheen, and helps prevent patchiness from eye creams underneath. Or I can wear the pigment straight for the grungy goth look of when I was young, like partying all night smudgy look. Straight pigments like these are a real gift from Chanel, they are a bit fussy, but if you like playing with makeup it’s so much fun. But yeah, try it over some lighter highlighter shades.

I was waiting anxiously for this video after your blush vid 😊 Loveeee these looks on you. The one on the end suited you so so much!! The others were equally beautiful. That’s the thing with Chanel and other high end beauty products. They just makes one look classy and subdued ❤ I will sure be picking at least two of these. But knowing me it could be more then 2 😂 thanks for the in depth vid.
I have been using them for the past week and a half and honestly I really like them. There is a learning curve though.

Hi Tania, thank you for a very informative video! I appreciate that you shared your application experience and that you used the product beforehand. Your eye looks were stunning; every one so elegant.
I purchased the same 5 shadows that you did, both blush, and both LE lipsticks. My Chanel MUA suggested using the applicator to swirl a little product onto the back of the hand and then use a brush or the applicator to apply. I had no fallout using this technique and used all the product that was dispensed. In fact, I had more fallout from a Charlotte Tilbury Pop Shot that I placed on top of 404 than from the 5 Chanel shadows combined. The only shade that was a little messy was 412 but it was product that dropped into the sink when I knocked the applicator. This was my first time working with pigments and I'm impressed and pleased to see this different type of offering from Chanel. Thank you again for a thorough review!

They look really really beautiful on you. It almost looks like your eyes are airbrushed. ❤I held off for a bit since I am familiar with this formula and packaging Rouge Bunny Rouge did a version of loose pigments many years back. I think they’re great for one and done but yes a little messy. I use the back of my hand.
I do love them. I picked up 406. They’re really easy to use. A dab using a brush and my fingers. They’re beautiful. Although I didn’t pay full price. I will be getting more shades

Great video. Two of those were very similar to the blush swatches from yesterday. With an eye primer the blushes could be eyeshadow without the mess and fuss.

These are STUNNING on your beautiful eyes!! I like the 412 the best on you. They need an olive green shade.
Bare Minerals used to have something similar to these several years ago and they were easier to apply. NYX also had a product like this except the applicator was more of a rollerball. Those were more sparkly though. These Chanel ones are subdued in a classy and safe way.
I don’t think I’ve tried any of the ones you mentioned. The only thing I wish that the Chanel did was to give us a longer applicator. I think that would have really made these less messy.

I have been waiting for this video since you announced in the past video. I love the colors but I can't with how messy they are and the application seems to be very difficult, is a shame because the colors are perfect for the season and have a lot of pigment. Amazing video Tania, as always.

Ohh I am in trouble 😂😂😂 These really look amazing on you and Channel is one of few brands that is easy to get in Iceland so these will be available here soon I guess. Even though they are messy I think I can overlook that if I use your way of using them. Now I just have to decide on the colors, I think I will buy two 😊

Tania, have you tried the Maybelline Color Strike eyeshadow, it is the same concept as Chanel, but what i like about the Maybelline ones , is that the applicator is longer , and it's a sponge as well.
I have never tried that one or seen it. Very interesting. That’s one of the things that I wish Chanel would’ve done better is give us a better applicator.
These are too high maintenance for me lol but I love that they gave many shade options. Great review as always!! 🤩

Thank you for such an amazing and thorough review as always! I appreciate the "warning" that this product can be very messy, which will most likely drive me crazy. I think the colors are very pretty but realistically speaking, I probably would not reach for this because of how messy it could get.
I get that! I was scared of the same thing happening to me and I picked up 5! Thankfully, I have been using them almost daily😍
First off I like pigments 😅 I’ve used the OG MAC pigments a few times & I’ve loved them ! & those have no applicator & are straight up loose pigment in a tiny glass container; although the Chanel ones looked pretty on you I don’t like them 😢 but I’m happy you do ! If I want a soft sophisticated look I can def use my Chantecaille luminescent eye shades ❤ I felt like you were describing the Chanetecaille eye shadows as you were describing the Chanel 😊 & with eye shadows the application is much easier 😅 waiting for a sale to get the Chantecaille shadows is best; they are more expensive per shade even than the Chanel BUT they are stunning, soft & very beautiful & sophisticated on the eyes ❤ just my thoughts but I still enjoyed watching your video as always 🥰 if you haven’t tried the Chantecaille I highly recommend them 👌🏼😍

Perhaps try tapping the brush on the nib and then apply it to the eye.
I have these eyeshadows and I think they are getting a bum rap! I never ever put the doe foot right on my eye. Rather, I pull it out slowly and apply my brush lightly to the doe foot and usually on the back of my hand and then use a brush to apply on my eye. I do the same thing with liquid/cream eyeshadows and it takes 2 seconds. I absolutely love them - very unique and glowy. Thanks for the reviews!!

These look like great fun to play with. I’m currently in Las Vegas and the boutique had the collection but were not allowed to bring out the display and stock, because the official release date is not until September 1st. With the hotel Wi-Fi I’m blocked from the Chanel site. Are they available yet online? I love the deep shades on your skin tone. It’s definitely turning into the season of many eyeshadows!

Do you think if you used a natural fibre versus synthetic fibre brush to lay down the loose pigment there would be a lot less fallout?
I think the fallout is not because of the brush, but because of the applicator having so much product on the base. If I can get the product on my eyes without any fall out then I’m golden.

If i’d see your review before i bought it, may be i’d skip them. Because it looks messy. But i tried it in store (n 414 you didn’t show here, is very dark purple) and i love it. Then I looked for youtube tutorials. And Yes, you must find you way to use it, but it is a first time in my life I can do smoky eyes with my finger! And PERFECTLY blended on my 53 years old eyes. No drying, no texture accentuation. Amazing product. And i have Pat, i have Natasha, i have good brushes and never have this results before! I need other colors, but in my country they are sold out completely😫

I started with Chanel years ago and love it. But, this new loose eyeshadows are messy. I like the Chantecaille Mermaid Eyeshadows better.

There were these type of packaging in the early 2000s that quickly went away bc it was just impractical. Dk why they would bring it back again which is a shame bc the shades are actually beautiful.

The applicator is awful (the sponge tip reminds me of an earplug)!

Back in the day everyone said the bare minerals pigment shadows were too messy. I loved them, never bothered me. I’m definitely getting 402 as a lid topper for the deeper shadows I already own. Tempted to try one more though. 🫣

@@TaniaBWells I just looked and they actually still sell a range of loose pigments in the little pots. That would be such a fun video to see because nobody talks about them anymore. At least now they come with a sifter. Twenty years ago you might accidentally dump them all over your vanity. 🤣😅
