    im not too technical, does the pressure in the machine make if from the shavings to the pressed finish product? and is it just wood being used, no glue? sorry nubi here

      The sawdust must be ground because it contains large pieces of chips. The pelletizing machine makes the sawdust pass through a die and heat is produced due to the friction. The sawdust contains a kind of resin and thanks to the heat, pellets are formed. In order for the pellets to bond well, the sawdust must have a humidity between 16 and 20 percent.

    You can get the correct moisture content of the sawdust by inserting the moisture meter into the compressed sawdust.

      What is an alternative for that? Can I just use a mesh wire with 1/8 inch holes to filter my sawdust? Don't worry my sawdust is finer than the ones you've shown in the video. So I wonder if it will also work...

    Did you build your machine or did you buy it ? I'm thinking of doing this because I have a lot of biomass on my property. Not suitable for a wood stove but would be great for a pellet stove. Thanks!

      The machine for making pellets is built by me. During this project I made several changes. I say it works quite well. It is excellent for producing biomass pellets. The wood is quite expensive and I said it would be good to build some machinery for biomass processing.

    Interesting, would the electricity used to produce the pellets heat up the house more than the pellets that were made? 🤔

    • @DorelBorlea
      @DorelBorlea  10 місяців тому +8

      If electricity were more efficient, then no one would bother to make pellets. The electrical energy consumed in one hour produces around 100 - 150 kg of pellets, a pellet burner consumes around 4 kg of pellets per hour.

    I wonder if you had some advice for me. I have a lot of grass and weed cuttings from last year that have now composted down during the winter. Can I use this for making pellets for my pellet machine? I realise that I would have to dry them and perhaps put them through a mulching machine to break them down, but would they still make good pellets? I hope that you don't mind me asking, thank you.

    • @DorelBorlea
      @DorelBorlea  2 місяці тому +1

      You can make pellets from any material. To make pellets, the material must be ground and the humidity must be between 16 and 20%. Now it depends on what you want to use those pellets for.

      @@DorelBorlea Thanks for the link. Nice channel. You think it would be possible to use hemp to make pelletized fuel?

    • @DorelBorlea
      @DorelBorlea  4 місяці тому +1

      I do not know what to say. If you can grind hemp stalks then you can make pellets. You must take into account that these are agro pellets and to be used for fire, a more special burner is required, the burner must have an ash cleaning mechanism.
