  • In this first video of a series I begin processing the material in my stock pot to recover any gold and platinum group metals it may contain. I also explain the purpose of the stock pot, and my liquid waste processing system in general. Please visit the Urban Gold Mining section of my web site at mdpub.com/Urban... for more information.

      Good luck with the rain. I know what it's like in the Phoenix area when it rains heavy. You folks don't have adequate storm water sewers. I guess it doesn't rain enough to make economic sense to put them in, but when it does rain, oh boy! Been there when it happened and got caught in flooded streets.

    I dont put HCL anywhere near my solution until later in the process for two reasons.
    1) it's mostly nitric liquid and I don't want to create AR until I'm ready.
    2) I do a nitric bath first to remove silver and palladium before I go for gold

    Omegageek64 & Sreetips are like watching two different artists using techniques learned at the same school. It's cool seeing the similarities and the differences.

    You could’ve gone straight to filtration instead of wasting all that hcl, also it’s not a waste to boil it in hcl, it’ll help the solids settle instead of replacing the black liquid for fresh hcl like you did twice and wasting a lot more

    Could you use brass to cement out the precious metal instead of copper

    hi, I was looking for your video on acid recovery but can't find it again, could you please tell me how it is called?

    Is there a reason you don't test the liquid in the stock pot and verify that there are no precious metals in solution?

    • @omegageek64
      @omegageek64  Рік тому

      I probably should have done that on camera. I've done it off camera enough times to know there are no detectable traces of precious metals in the stock pot liquid.

      Test results from the stock pot are usually inconclusive due to high amount of contaminants. Best to test after the nitric boils and the AR.

    How about putting a grit guard that you can put in the bottom of the bucket. Look at car wash bucket.
