    Great tutorial. I'm late to the Mos Def bandwagon.

    Love this tutorial. I see where I was going wrong. I rushed through it, and was trying to work the product in like a gel. You also worked in smaller sections. I'm trying this my next wng. One problem, I have to get the leave in. Thank you for taking your time out the make this video.

    • @thenaturalcole
      @thenaturalcole  4 роки тому +3

      That's what I did the first time I used it like a gel. The second try was okay. But it wasn't until I went back and watched a few of The Doux videos and noticed how she worked in smaller sections with different hair types. Glad it was helpful.

      Very pretty! Would you say to achieve your results that you used the shingling method? It looks like you took small sections and ran the product through each strand which is what I do with gel. My hair is much shorter I have a twa taper so my sides and back are shaved/cut low.

    • @thenaturalcole
      @thenaturalcole  4 роки тому +2

      @@karennelson3736 I wouldn't necessarily say the shingling method because I'm not doing anything to form the curl, it just happens on its own. I haven't used the term shingling method in a long time it could be similar. But since I recorded this video I've stopped using the comb and only use my fingers to distribute the product through my hair. It seems to work better that way, but I still use the comb to help with the shorter back part and everything else is with my fingers.

    Thank you for your tutorial AND for the honesty about the product! I’ve tried using this to achieve a similar hairstyle only twice and didn’t get the expected results. Felt like I had been scammed since I watched and watched and hoped and prayed that the product would deliver as promised even though I’m not a stylist! Now I know that I simply need to work on and develop my technique and it might take 4-5 times since I do NOT like doing hair lol! I’ll keep trying after watching your video. Thanks for being sooooooo down to earth and yes I LOVE that mic girl! Lol

      Hello Tra Mitchell and YW :-) This product has a learning curve for sure. The first time I tried the product, my hair looked a mess. I watched a ton of videos to learn the application technique. I finally reached out to the company on IG, and they explained how to apply it. Since posting this video, I realized that my hair does not like this product during the summer. It seemed drier than usual in this Texas heat. I started using this product in January of 2020, so I think it works best for me during the colder season. I'll revisit the product soon as it cools off in Texas.

    • @thenaturalcole
      @thenaturalcole  4 роки тому +3

      Thank You! I get asked this question a lot. I sleep on a satin pillow and fluff my hair in the morning. I don't add any product to refresh. I'll make a video soon showing the process and my reason why.

    Tried it this past weekend. I used the cowash and mousse. It left my hair dry and I didn't like that. I'm going try this lotion you tried to see it that helps. Also I an going to wash my hair instead of cowash. And my hair has a fresh cut.

      Hello Christy! Did it work better the second time? I'll be honest when I first started using the product; there was a learning curve. Since posting this video, I've realized that my hair does not like this product during the summer months. It was too hot in Texas, and my hair was drier than usual. I will revisit this product during the colder months. I think that's when it will work best for me. Thanks for watching and send me an update.

    Your hair turned out so beautiful! I love this product but it gets so sticky for me. How can I avoid that?

    • @thenaturalcole
      @thenaturalcole  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Raye Nicole! Now that's a problem I haven't resolved. My hair isn't sticky but it is sticky on the hands. I do my best to work the product in quickly. Since this video I've gotten faster using my hands instead of the comb. If you figure that part out let me know.

    • @rayennicole
      @rayennicole 4 роки тому +1

      Oh okay! Yeah I think that’s the problem. I use Good Day (another product from their line) to try to combat it but I think my hair was too dry when I applied the mousse! My hands get sticky too when I refresh the next day but a little of Good day does help!

    It came out bomb!! Do you remember how many days it lasted? I notice that mines doesn't last long but its probably my fault cause I can't stop fluffing my hair lol.

    • @thenaturalcole
      @thenaturalcole  4 роки тому +2

      At least 5 days but it may be a little frizzy by the 4th day and I'm okay with that. But I've found that if I sit under a hooded dryer and let my hair dry 100%, the curls set better and my wash-n-go will last longer.
