Mikey unintentionally gaslighting everyone into thinking that scene with Autumn happened lmao
He's so good at lying he fools himself
I'm cryin😂😂😂
Man, that whole scene in Ozpin's office was way better than I remembered, the dialogue was all really good.
Yep. This is one of my favorite episodes in RWBY just because the writing is noticeably really good lol. The jokes are legitimately funny, nearly every line doubles as characterization, there's tons of intrigue with Ozpin's cabal and what's going on, etc. Makes me wish we got more of that kind of writing.
@@michaelhenry3234 One bit that sometimes feels a bit awkward is when Qrow is tearing into Ironwood but is really just doing a semi-vague exposition dump for the audience; however, I think it makes a bit more sense when considering that he's trying to drive home the point to Ironwood that he is behaving recklessly given the circumstances and reminding him of those circumstances. It actually works quite well, when you think about it.
Nah, that exposition is cringe-worthy. There's a lot of show, don't tell, and then that slams on the screen like a bad hairdo.
no, that was an exposition dump that was trying really hard to not come off as some guy telling the audience directly what they do.
I mean...I agree that it was the point of how it was written, but I'm saying that when I actually sit back and think about it solely in the context of characters, it actually still works quite well. Do consider that your first emotional reaction to something doesn't necessarily reflect reality.
Probably the funniest episode in the whole series, Crow and Ruby just get line after the line of pure gold
Its funny how often I type Qrow that the auto correct doesn't bother anymore
The band is literally Jeff... and Casey and sometimes Alex (who also writes the score).. Casey sings and Jeff does ALL background vocals as well.
Hey guys didn’t think I’d see you around here 😁
I'm currently uploading reactions to the show myself.
@@AshSmashReacts good luck on the growth of your channel bro!
and Jeff writes like the 99% of the "band music". The dude knows his craft.
That's probably one of the most quotable episode in the series
"He was drunk."
"He's always drunk"
Anything Qrow says in this episode is straight up iconic, I feel like I know this entire episode by heart
Mikey is merging some other show into RWBY. Easy to do with all the shows they watch.
Yeah, I was getting *_real_* confused there.
Marketa's right about the Grimm being attracted to negative emotion, but that's not exactly what they were referencing in that moment. Qrow was referring to the fact that Cinder (and yes, it's Cinder. Her minion is Emerald) and her group will look at the fleet and not be intimidated.
Not and Cinder, Emerald and Mecury, he's referring to "them" and "her". ykyk
Nope...they won’t know who for a while. I don’t know if your caught up but if you are you’ll get who “her” is.
You are completely correct.
Incorrect. Qrow is very obviously referring to... "her".
15:19. Schnee Company Representative!? You couldn't be more off! Winter Schnee, is, as Qrow said, in Atlas Military Special Ops! She saluted, and obeyed Ironwood because he is Winter's commander and superior officer! How did you miss that! And from Weiss talking about Atlas as compared to Vale, you can tell that Atlas has a corporate and military run government.
13:40 He was everyone's favourite character from just this episode. Congrats Rana, you're one of use!
8:28 See, this is my problem with subtitles. They knew what Winter was going to say before she finished saying it.
20:16 No Mikey, that was Cinder all along.
This is the first time Autumn has been mentioned. Torchwick was answering to Cinder. Qrow referring to Autumn made it sound like she was on their side and was injured by Cinders crew.
The fact he's completely wrong about "Autumn" 😬😂
yay it really hurt to listen to him ramble about that like it were facts.
He's either confusing Autumn with Cinder or Neo.
@@AceCruzat or just confusing her with another show because he mentioned a villain at a desk with minions which never happened XD
The guy doesn't even pay attention
@@goddesssalem4842 Nah they just watch so much shows at once so its hard to keep track over time.
They did this episode really well. They had a conversation discussing the “issue”, without revealing anything. They revealed everything in the episode with Pyrrha and ozpins conversation
Mikey's mistaking Cinder's name as Autumn and Emerald's name as Cinder.
Damarin is focusing on the Wizard of Oz references to the detriment of all the other references. Pretty much every character in the show is reference to something. Jaune Arc is a genderflipped Joan of Arc. Qrow is the scarecrow.
Also, it's not that the older grimm don't care anymore about humans and their negative emotions, the older grimm are just smarter and willing to be patient to wait for the best time.
Psst. Qrow is not the scarecrow.
Sad thing is, apparently they don't care about comments and their patreons do no care about the show. Else at least your last point is easily explained by the World of Remnants
I have no idea where he's getting the Autumn thing from. The rest of the group didn't remember it, but Mikey somehow convinced them of something that never happened.
Mikey's Donald Trump in disguise.
It's so satisfying to see reactors who react like that to Qrow's name drop. Love you guys.
YES MY FAVORITE CHAPTER OF THE FIRST HALF OF V3 I'M SO PUMPED.
Mine is 3x4 mercury goes off lol
Grimm get bigger, smarter and grow more armor the older they get.
They still have an innate desire to destroy man and all of its creations when they get old, they are just smart enough to only attack humans when they are weak
Yeah Mikey a bad woman sitting behind a desk with her minions hasn't happened. You are merging shows, possibly Rwby:Chibi even as there were some scenes of Cinder teaching or in classrooms in that show.
he could've just watched it in advance, and saw "her" debriefing the minions in ep 1 of volume 4
The episode where qrow became my favorite character, making this my favorite episode in the whole series
Everyone seems to forget that Qrow started the fight by attacking Winter's robot bodyguards.
That would be starting a fight with the robots, not Winter.
All she had to do was call the authorities on him. She instead chose to attack him.
@@k9commander Starting a fight by destroying Atlas military equipment on top of a military personnel's bodyguard. Winter (and above her, Ironwood) is the authority in that situation. He provoked her on purpose, why pretend otherwise?
the "little friend" is the virus cinder attached to the cct tower in volume 2 "dance dance infiltration"
“If you were one of my men, I would have you shot!”
-Ironwood
"If I was one of your men I'd shoot myself."

Best comeback possible.
It's based on a old WInston Churchill quote.

Winter: berates Weiss for missing three strikes
Also Winter: can’t land one hit on a drunk Huntsman.
Remember to watch after the credits at the end of the volume! (Again)
Okay, I'm pretty sure Mikey's been watching this in advance and saw episode 1 of volume 4, where THERE actually is a woman giving orders to her minions while everyone is seated at a large table
Also, please Poe Dameron, shut up, for the love of god... he's making even more bs speculations than ever before and constantly gets the trivia wrong while acting like some sort of expert... 🤦
He’s has autumn all wrong 😭😂
It will be great when they learn though 👀
@@watsondillon1997 definitely
WHY was it called Autumn's condition though?
Spoilers
We know now that he was referring to Amber. Is it beacause Autumn = Fall? Just feels odd how they never addressed her as Autumn ever again
@@aLexDL I think it's just because they didn't want to give away too much until the next couple of episodes, but idk
Rewatching these episodes with you guys while I’m currently all the way in Season 8 puts a lot of things in perspective.
I knew that at some point rana was gonna say something about Qrow being hot 😂😂😂
I would love to see the Normies play a one shot in D&D I watch Critical Role so I have no problem watching a 4 hour video
Same
Winter is more Atlas operative than Schnee representative. She's a trusted operative of Ironwood.
Actually, “Autumn” and “She” hasn’t been shown. Though YOU MIGHT WANT TO REMEMBER THAT for later in the Volume.
In regards to Grimm, they are drawn to negative emotions, the more emotion that people feel and show, the more the Grimm are drawn
It’s very confusing later tho, because « Autumn » is NEVER mentioned again by that name. They changed it after Monty passed, right?
Edit for the new characters.
Qrow Branwen - Huginn of "The Poetic Edda"/Scarecrow(Qrow is a crow,
and Huginn is a raven. Scarecrow is his role in the Ozluminati) and his weapon name is Harbinger.
Winter Schnee - The Snow Queen (Displays similar characteristics,
especially to Elsa, the 2012 Frozen interpretation of the Snow Queen)
Another Patreon supporter noted this already so I'll just post it here:
Ruby Rose - Little Red Riding Hood (Wears a red hood, is first seen fighting
wolves, and is called Red by Torchwick.)
Weiss Schnee - Snow White (Her name means white snow, her leitmotif song is
called mirror mirror, and her necklace has an apple on it.)
Blake Belladonna Belle from Beauty and the Beast (Though in this case Blake
is the beauty and the beast. Her last name contains Bell, she loves reading,
and own a candelabra)
Yang Xaio Long - Goldilocks (In her trailer she fights Junior, based off of baby
bear, and a DJ wearing a bear mask. Yang first fights bear grimm. And she's
protective of her hair)
Ozpin - The Wizard of Oz (The Wizard's real name was Oscar Zoroaster
Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs, which was
abbreviated to OZPINHEAD, or OZPIN, HEADmaster of Beacon)
Glynda Goodwitch - Glynda the Good witch (Do I have to say anything?)
Roman Torchwick - Romeo Candlewick (Aside from the name, Roman smokes
cigars, just like Candlewick)
Jaune Arc - Joan of Arc (Has similar names, and his arc is based on Joan of
Arc's prosecution by the Cardin of Winchester.)
Nora Valkyrie - Thor (Has a hammer as her weapon, is named for the Valkyries
of norse mythology, gets powered by lightning.)
Pyrrha Nikos - Achilles (Pyrrha was the name Achilles used in disguise, both
are said to be invincible, and ...)
Lie Ren - Mulan (Ren's design is very chinese inspired.)
Penny Polendina - Pinocchio. Her last name, Polendina, comes from the
derogatory nickname that Pinocchio's creator, Geppetto, was given, due to his
yellow wig bearing resemblance to polenta in the original story. Pinocchio is a
sentient wooden puppet and Penny's weapon is controlled by strings.)
Sun Wukong - Sun Wukong from Journey to the West (Are both monkeys, fights
with a staff named Ruyi Bang and Jingu Bang, similar to the original Sun
Wukong's staff, Ruyi Jingu Bang, His Semblance allows him to produce clones
of himself. The original Sun Wukong could create clones of himself from
strands of his hair, In Volume 1, Sun identifies Blake as a Faunus right away.
This may be a reference to the original Sun Wukong's ability named "huoyan-
jinjing"), which enabled him to see through disguises and illusions. And he says
it'll be a regular Journey to the East in Of Runaways and Stowaways)
Cinder Fall - Cinderella (The shoes she wears with her original battle outfit are
made of glass. She has been shown to fight with glass. Her emblem looks like
two heels together. And then there's the events of Dance Dance Infiltration,
where Cinder goes to a ball and is advised to return by midnight.)
Neptune Vasilias - Neptune (Aside from the name, His family name, Vasilias, is
a variant of the Greek word Basileus, meaning "leader, prince, king or
emperor" and Poseidon is often called the King of the Sea. He also wields a
trident)
Mercury Black - Mercury (His weapons are worn on his feet, and his emblem is
a pair of winged shoes, which Mercury was known to wear)
Emerald Sustrai Aladdin (She has a vaguely Egyptian design. She is a thief,
and is called street rat a couple times, alluding to Aladdin)
James Ironwood - Tinman (Tinman's original name was the tin woodman, and
Ironwood is a Tinman, because he's a cyborg)
Neapolitan - Mary Poppins (it just fits so well with the umbrella motif)
Creatures of Grimm - Brothers Grimm (The writers of many 'grim' fairy tales)
Shopkeep - THE CHRISTIAN GOD HIMSELF
I can post the rest of the cast as they are revealed. Glad you guys finally got to
experience this great show the best of the best.
Aladdin isnt an Egyptian story, Emeralds is based on Aladdin but her design has nothing to do with that
It’s always sick to think about this was design that way, I mean, since the beginning we notice the designs, but the lore behind it, man, Monty is a genius!!!
I hope they add Mexican (Aztec/Maya/Olmec) as well Japanese(Samurai, demons, etc) mystical characters base off to the series, those 2 are dope lore to made characters of it.
14:16 Ozpin's face cracks me up every time 😂
The music in RWBY has a very important rol in the story, usually, they tell the feelings of the characters, I think is in this volume that the songs started to be more deep, so listen carefully!. Hearing this opening now brings so many feelings on the actual volume. I look forward to seeing your next reaction
Definitely. They reveal more about the characters than the show does sometimes
Also, Autumn hasn't been shown at all yet. For what we know, Cinder is in charge of Emerald, Mercury, and Roman. They all work for her, and it seems the White Fang and Adam(guy in Blake's story with the sword and mask) has his people working for Roman, so he seems to have a deal with Cinder's group too, even though he is anti human.
They also haven't mentioned the name of "Her" yet, who isn't Autumn. And Autumn wasn't in any scene about politics or anything
And Autumn seems to be them actually messing up on her name (or not having decided on her name yet) since she's never called "Autumn" again.
@@Kaylakaze I was thinking they referred to her by her season

Ironwood doesn't like to wait. He always tries to find the immediate solution to EVERY problem. This usually causes him to overreact and resort to excessive measures. Attempt #353: of trying to get The Normies to check out Symbionic-Titan or Primal.
Both made by Genndy Tartakovsky, the guy who made Samurai Jack.
There was no one sitting at a desk. Cinder Fall is the mastermind that all the villains are working for, and who is also controlling all the technology of both Beacon Academy and the Vytal Festival - *_"Let's give the crowd a good fight."_* We haven't seen Autumn yet, and Qrow appears to imply that Cinder's Faction were the ones responsible for causing _something_ bad to happen to Autumn.
I like to think Winter vs Qrow would be what Weiss vs Ruby would be like if they fought.
I'm not sure. Weiss and Winter fight similarly, but Qrow and Ruby have different fighting styles. Ruby tends to use her sniper if advantageous, and move into melee if need be, but Qrow prioritizes melee with his sword. Even when they both go full scythe, Qrow still uses the scythe differently
Lol, the other 3 need to question Mikey and Dameran more.
Mikey just pulled out a character who straight up doesn’t exist in this show out his ass while Dameron speculates about how this character who doesn’t exist might be a Wicked Witch of the West reference and Marketta was the only one who questioned them.
As usual,
Marketta = knows what she’s talking about
M&D = have no idea what they’re talking about
Will you guys react to RWBY World of Remnant?
Winter definitely won she landed two hits on Qrow team Winter all the way
True... I guess.
And Qrow just grinned at her...and winked...Winter is very good as a 20 something year old Special Ops Huntress for the Atlas Military, but Qrow was just playing with her to make a point and to draw out Ironwood. Qrow has been a Huntsman and Ospin's personal Reconnaissance Scout ie "Special Forces Airborne Ranger SEAL 007" type for over 20 years! Qrow is the same age as Goodwitch, Oobleck, Ironwood, and Ruby's parents. Loads of experience, and as Ms. Goodwitch said, he was drunk like always! He did it on purpose and even put up his weapon when he saw Ironwood approaching. Don't get me wrong, Winter is a real good Huntress and Soldier, but Qrow made her lose her temper and played her. And it also displayed what real Huntsmen and Huntresses are capable of, as compared to our Heroes, who are still just students, and how dangerous the enemy really is! (;[D,
Pffft. The dude was drunk and barely putting in any effort. Notice that he didn't even take out his scythe until the end.
He literally had her on the defensive the entire time lol. Only reason she landed two weak hits (on a drunk person btw) is because his hits would have killed her. She was literally running away for 90% of that fight. She even had to show off her weapons true form, and can be seen getting scared. Qrow never did that and still kept up with her while drunk. She almost got her ass beat by a drunk dude lmao imagine if he was sober she’d be dead.
The Scarecrow is Uncle Crow which hence the name!!!
The friend Cinder is referring to is the chess piece virus she installed into the Vale&Beacon systems back in season 2 during the party. She implanted the virus to basically find access points into anything that connects itself to the system that Vale and Beacon run off of, which Ironwood did when he connected to Ozpin's desk in order to do his little projection show, unknowingly allowing Cinder access to his Atlas system.
The chess piece virus is basically like a trojan horse it sneaks in and then infects everything
Mmm no. I don’t think she was referring to the virus itself when talking about the friend. Notice how during most of their stay at Beacon, Neo is not with them. She’s probably running around behind the scenes and implementing the virus wherever she can.
@@astrea4020 She was talking about the heavy lifting the "little friend" has done immediately after the virus gained access to Ironwoods scroll and started to fix the match.
How this somehow translates to "Neo did something that hasn't been mentioned in the background" instead of the thing that literally happens on screen is beyond me.
@@DarkSun123456789 RWBY doesn't do Show, Don't Tell and that's why it was Neo. Kappa
@@tobiasskorupa1649 Considering I've seen the rest of the series I can say with confidence she was talking about the virus. Cinder never refers to any person as her friend, ever, not even Emerald. I have been waiting for this all day!!!!
Fun Facts
Fact 1: "It's Brawl in the Family" is a play on words with "it's all in the family."
Fact 2: When Ruby realizes Weiss' sister is fighting her uncle, she gasps and shouts "That's my uncle!". This is a callback to the first episode, as well as a reference to a joke Burnie Burns once made about anime.
Fact 3: One of Junior Xiong's Henchmen appears in the audience.
Fact 4: Barbara Dunkelman, the voice actor for Yang, did the motion capture footage for Winter's non-fighting scenes. Miles Luna, voice actor for Jaune, did the motion capture for Qrow.
Fact 5: According to Ruby the current season is Fall, this may imply that the school year for Huntsman Academies starts in the late winter or early spring.
It is also possible that Huntsman Academies operate like colleges in the USA, offering the students' education in spring and autumn semesters.
Fact 6: Winter's line to Weiss about Ruby, "So this is the leader you wrote of" was later turned into a fan-made comic strip and featured as "Letter to Winter" a skit in "Cinder Who?", the 21st episode of RWBY Chibi.
The kettle is starting to steam a bit. Wait till it’s at a full boil.

Autumn the bad guy and she was already seen? Guys you are soo on the wrong path I hope they realize this soon :D
(Rubbing my Temples and taking a deep breath) ... OK, Let's do this:
- I have NO idea what Show Mikey is referring to, but No, we have not seen "Autum" or whatever
- "Our Clever little Friend" is Cinder referring to the Black Queen Virus that she planted in the school system WAY back in V2 Ch7. If you look closely you will see the Black Queen symbol flash on Ironwood's Scroll just as he was picking it up off Ozpin's desk. This indicates that his scroll is now infected and Cinder can, thus, see all his military secrets. It is Also the way she can control the "Randomization" process of picking teams
- The Grimm Are NOT animals, they may LOOK like animals, but they are Soulless creatures of destruction that seek to Kill people and Cause damage. They are Attracted to Negative emotions so Fear and panic act like a beacon to them. The corpses of Grimm that are killed dissolve shortly after they die (sometimes instantly). There is a World of Remnant Video that discusses this
- Atlas (The Kingdom where Weiss and Winter are from) has its Military, Government And Huntsmen School combined. Thus Ironwood is both head of the military and Headmaster of the Atlas school. That is not the case in any other kingdom.
- All the Songs in the show are Done by Father/Daughter team Jeff and Casey Williams. The songs are included on Each Volume's OST and are ACTUALLY a major Part of the show as they carry a Lot of back story and inner monologues of the characters in the show. You should listen to them or, better yet, Watch the Lyrics Videos
- The Adults in the show (Ozpin and Company) are based on the characters from the Wizard of Oz: Ozpin = The wizard, Glenda Goodwitch (obvious), Ironwood = the Tin man, Qrow = The Scarecrow.
- Team RWBY is based on Fairytales: Ruby = little red riding hood, Weiss = snow white (her name LITERALY means white snow in German), Blake = Belle from Beauty and the Beast (because she's both) and Yang = Goldie Locks
- Team JNPR are based on Myth/Historical characters: Jaune Arc (obvious), Pyrrha = Achilles, Nora = Thor, Ren = Mulan.
Cant wait till they get to vol 4 (ep 7) it’s been years and I’m still not over it
It’s always kinds weird going back in the show with more knowledge of what happens later. Like when I first saw this episode, I felt that Winter won (she definitely hit him at least once while it’s not clear if his shots ever hit her).
"Boyfriend?"
*FNDM*: GOD we WISH
Wizard of Oz isn’t the only story here.
I've been waiting for this...
