Mashallah the lecture was great but the Q&A is where a lot of the knowledge is found. People found the courage to ask the questions that others wanted to nut were too afraid to ask bout they had to be answered!
I'm Jaafar. I think trying to know too much b4 giving yourself(heart) to somebody will b dramatical to many relationships. Only 15% of relationships will end with marriage. Because people check mistakes more than good deeds. It is good to check someone b4 taking decisions to marry that person but the simplest way is to know someone from those who know him/her already then check yr importants aspects for feeling by yourself accompany with prayers.

Sheikh is right about parents. This is just my opinion, but some parents will pawn their children off in marriage on anyone, so the parents are free of supporting or helping their children...these parents act like it's a burden.

the lecture is good and I personally accept it as its makes me understands something very interesting. but my question is the sheik happens to use the word nasty many times in this lecture is it a good word to use, when referring to ugly situations?
Nasty is not an insult, he used it to describe a situation, don't be judgemental mr.man.

Maybe I'm not thinking in the most perfect human islamic way.
But you shouldn't marrie a woman in the first place if there's no love connection and afterwards treating the woman not in the right way.
I think it's time to start looking for the woman Allah (swt) like to marrie me and who can make me happy.
On the other hand I will make her happy as well in order to achieve something beautiful together.
Inshallah I will pray to Allah (swt) to help me with this very important life aspect.
You have to like someone, see something appealing to you in the other person. If there is nothing you find attractive then choose someone else. But if we are talking about love then there is no need to love someone first before marriage. On the contrary it even is scientifically proven that marriages that started with couples who didnt even known eachother for long time had much higher chance of survival than couples who had a relationship/live connection before marriage. Same with virginity on both genders. Professor Sam Vaknin talks about this although he is not Muslim himself.

First my name is Nafsiya
My husband got married to me when I was 20 years and he disvirgin me.
After taking away my virginity serious problems every time, mental torture from him because I am not more a virgin. And we have two children which they are with me right now with reasons undisclosed .it is 2 years old we not together and we had married certificate.
He constantly refused to give me the divorce.
Question can I go ahead looking for a partner or keep on waiting on him.
I am now 30 years

What can I do am married to a man whom I didn't want to get married to he loves me but my heart and mind are on the man I wanted to get married to it is two months now
That won't end well. You shouldnt have married him, that's completely unfair on him. But I realise that your parents may have had something to do with that. But still, the choice was yours (unless you were forced). If you don't love him then probably divorce before children complicate things.
But do you think that you'll be able to marry the man you want? If not then, why not stay with your present husband and forget about that man.
Decision is always yours , but in my humble opinion it is always better to be loved by someone than to love someone.
The lady in question needs no Sharia, she needs a solicitor and the courage to divorce the ungrateful man.
