@@terry4801 First thing that happened after I moved to Austin was someone shooting on 6th street, killing one and wounding 14 others. I've heard multiple news stories since then about shootings in that area, but I don't know the exact number.
@@anthonyjones-zi4te what did I expect? A hopping party town. Not some sad strip of bars reminiscent of downtown Hoboken. Bar scene looks dead. Even Bourbon Street is hopping even though if you go two blocks over it looks like a demilitarized zone or downtown Mogadishu. Austin is touted as the next big place for young people to move to so I expected more. Not more of the same.
Was there in 1985!! That's when it was kicking!!!!looks deserted now.but with today's crime your better off not being out.never know when a bullseye will be on your back!!!!
It does not look or feel like Nashville. I’ve been to both. And Austin just days ago. It is a scary place , I was assaulted literally when I stepped onto 6th street. All I did wrong was walk onto 6th street. Never again.
Looks the same as when I was there in 1999. You used to be able to go down that last block on the video and score big rocks of crack cocaine right near the freeway overpass, 24-7. Doesn't look like it's changed much 😊
Well it's not safe out there a lot of young men have gone missing and ended up by or in the lake. Just be safe out there hang with a good crowd that will protect you. Make sure there is always a designated driver that doesn't drink at all. I pray 🙏 this is all solved like now. Be safe god bless you all.
It's in America, but not all everyone there is American and from what I've seen there are so many random shit - Really Cool Night and Having Fun Together
Bro even 3 years ago this place was T totally different vibes. What happened? Covid and California's gentrification killed this place. Might as well be little Nashville now
So.......thats the fine 6th in Austin.....*schubbiduuu hhhmmm* that looks like a nice place to visit, make party and break some noses........... Greetz from Berlin,Germany ⚫️🔴🟡
Austin has been a pathetic caricature of itself ever since the place lost its cool in 1995. Ive lived there. The place was never the same since high rents forced the musicians, the REAL ones, the SOUL of Austin, to leave, decimating the creative scene.
Not a Texas fan but I prefer Austin. Nashville is a one trick pony where Broadway is the only interesting street and the rest of the Nashville is bland. In Austin the other areas are good and has more interesting communities and better food
Awwww it’s changed so much , the streets use to be way more filled !!! I visited from Dallas all the time
I live on Menchaca rd in Austin, but never make it to sixth street, since the Ritz closed.
Same
It's.......MaAnchaca. you probably pronounce the "A" on the end, too.
2:50 Littering. He should be fined.
Yea people suck
Best comment on here LOL
looks pretty chill.
Mann what you expect a wider longer version of Bourbon Street
wrong! there's not shit and piss everywhere.
was there last week for the first time and def the last time... scary place. Crazy place and very unsettling.
Please tell me more. I am thinking about spending 3 weeks in Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas in late Sept.
@@terry4801 6TH STREET at night is crazy, its just not my kind of night life.

This was probably at 10-11pm. It gets crazier around 1am. Just nowhere to walk
Wow acabo de hacer un video de 6th Street tambien y ha cambiado mucho desde cuando recien me mude a Austin
it really doesn't look like it's changed much since the early 90's the music probably sux but other than that.
Not what I expected. Not the magical place people describe. Like a bargain basement Nashville.
It surrounds the University of Texas main campus in Downtown Austin in a city with a huge homeless population. What did you expect ?

I recorded on a DJI Osmo Pocket.

Austin and Nashville look exactly the same
Nashville is much, much bigger.
anyone know any good college clubs/bars?
If you go to the square in San Marcos there’s a lot of college bars since it’s right next to Texas state. Mayloos and the vault are good
