Honestly at this point I should always expect one last delay right at the end, but finally it's done and live!! Hope you all enjoy it!! I'm going to go lie down for awhile lol
A well-earned rest, indeed! Thanks for making this beast, it was a great time taking this fantastic tour back through one of the best gaming experiences of all time. You really did one helluva job because despite the length of this getting up to almost 5 hours you condensed everything admirably as I figure it could have easily ballooned to maybe twice that. But yeah, this was the fastest handful of hours watching!
im sure the fact hes making anything off of what he enjoys doing is enough for him. i cant speak for him, but i know id be stoked if i made 2 bucks off youtube
You know, I never thought about it that way but now it makes a lot of sense why he became such a big reader, he needed that escapism. His books and penny dreadfuls were to him what _RDR2_ is to us, maybe. Does mean that when he became an outlaw, he was already used to his own company pretty well though.
Arthur Morgan is the character that I didn't think would be one of my favorite characters of all time until I actually play the game last year. the way that the character is and how Arthur becomes a better man by the very end of the game and his life makes me want to be like Arthur in real life.
Totally agree, his example is inspiring. Redeeming past sins and mistakes, trying to do as much good as you can despite adversity is a really strong, positive message and stands out more in an era where games don't always have one, let alone a game as big and expensive as that.
Re: Francis Sinclair, I like the fan theory that time travel is why they have "San Andreas" in the GTA-verse, and "California" in Red Dead, and Epsilon being the key that links the two. Francis/Kraff is out there screwing up the continuity, so these are two different timelines in the same universe.
My theory is that he *was* a time traveller, sure, but however he got there he didn't know what year he'd landed in. He guesses 1920s/1930s (prohibition era) so he talks like that, perhaps not knowing he's gone even further back. Overall though I think Rockstar just put stuff like that in to screw with people, because it's funny, and also fun to speculate on.
I always found Jenny Kirk, Mac, and Davey Callander very fascinating as they’re the only gang members besides Davey that we the player never saw and meet in game. We only know them through Arthur journals and other members tales about them, but there still isn’t enough information to fully understand who these characters are. So I’m hoping that if rockstar ever makes another Red Dead Redemption game, they have it focused, more on Mac Callander as the main character instead of Jack cuz he was somewhat figured legend amongst the gang, might give us some great brotherly fun dynamic with Davey, show more of Jenny Kirk and her relationship with Lenny and Micah, and his story might even potentially be a good final puzzle piece behind the Blackwater massacre. It’s a really good set up for players to get interested on his story. Anyways, fantastical job on the video and definitely hoping your video gets 1 million views for how much of the hard work you’ve done🤠😊!!!
I was in 7th grade when this game came out. Me and my brother waited in line to pick up our preorders. When this game got announced, I got my OWN ps4 months before the actual release. RDR2 will always hold a special place in my heart and plenty others
I take it you weren't disappointed. The game delivered on the hype, and not many games do that now. Same here, special place in the heart, still play it often.
@@garydiamondguitaristman i knew it was gonna be great because they had so much confidence in their product. the normal addition being a metal case was the tell-all for me
RDR2 is gonna be one of very few games that will hold up well past it's 10 year mark. I'm not playing on PC but the graphics on console are stunning still, the world is so alive & there's enough side activities to get lost in for RP
I'd go even further and say it improves each time, and has more weight and resonance each time. Plus you start picking up on little plot and character details you might have missed the first few times around.
@@austin_bennett Totally agree. A lot of stuff I wrote off as pointless busywork the first time I played it on release - you know, the challenges, finding items for people at camp, trying to complete the compendium - is part of what gives the game legs beyond the story. Sometimes you don't want to shoot a bunch of dudes, sometimes you wanna go hunting or collect flowers or catch a fancy horse... and *then* go and shoot a bunch of dudes, knowing you can eat what you hunted, use the flowers in healing remedies and not get caught by the law on your much faster horse 😂
@@garydiamondguitarist I remember on my 1st playthrough & doing a bunch of side missions & story missions because the gang would gently nudge you to do the story missions & because I had the ending spoiled by time I got half way through chapter 3 & heard Arthur cough for the 1st time I was like "oh no, I'm half way through the story & feel like I'm rushing things" so I paused my 1st playthrough to start over & got lost in exploring, fishing, hunting & a bunch of side missions
I always grit my teeth through Guarma. So little to do on Guarma, no way to shave, change clothes, get new weapons or horses, it's just a void of content, apart from needing to shoot like 300 guards.
Exactly, the magnum opus, and the swan song of main writer Dan Houser. I'd like to think he knew that too. Rockstar may well create games that outsell this one, but I don't think they'll release another with as much value.
Bro this video is so fucking great. Literally my only UA-cam channel I watch for game retrospectives cause it truly feels like watch a movie watching your videos. You really the GOAT bro, just had to lyk that.

This might be my #1 favorite game ever. The story, the characters, the world... it's all just so good. I really hope GTA 6 ends up being close to as good as this game.
Straus and Arthur being treated as the bad guys is baffling to me. Those people chose to take out a loan, they're responsible. Beating up all of them is probably a bit much, and maybe strauss made it sound like it wasn't a loan. But they made their choice, like Arthur said.
Went to Comic Con in 2021 and had the honor of meeting the voice actors for both John Marston and Arthur Morgan. Both of them were incredibly humble, down to earth and wonderful to talk to, voice actor of Arthur Morgan even made a video for my older brother who got the game on release! Was such an amazing experience, and once in a while I'll always go watch that video he made just to feel that adrenaline again for a moment😊
I think this game is one of the most ambitious and elegant pieces of art ever created. I know that sounds hyperbolic, but I truly believe it. Every once in a while, we get something that was made with so much passion, creativity, and with a production budget to match the vision of its creators, that it transcends pop culture and storytelling in an unforgettable way. Thank you for making this video. This might be my favorite retrospective I've seen on this game so far.
Honestly I think the real reason everyone hates strauss is because they believe he's the reason Arthur had gotten tuberculosis when you go after downs and when he was sick everyone theorieses that is what caused Arthur to get sick

So I took about 8 hours to push through the finale, first week of 2025, and found the 9 grave sites debating with the squirrel statue, I'm planning to play the story again and complete all the challenges for my first 100% on any rockstar game.
