Hi Linor, thank you for your comment. I have re-recorded this with a better quality recording (Version 2) August 2019, at your suggestion. Hopefully you will find it easier listening. Jane
Dear Andrea, many thanks for your question. Alexander Technique teachers often suggest this practice is done for 20 minutes. So, perhaps it is your body telling you to move? Personally, I would go with that and let them move. Do it in a softer than soft way, no effort. Perhaps just moving would be enough (rather than stretching). If stretching feels the right thing, try imagining them lengthening rather than "doing" the stretch? Let me know how you get on? If you have an Alexander Technique teacher you might explore what to do with them? Best wishes, Jane
or constructive rest unfortunately i started reading about it i never finished, look forward to this when i get home, i started a movement this morning, it was from Alfonse , he talks allot.
thank you very good explanation , i haven’t felt the benefits of this , yet. do you have the one the “sternum becoming more flexible “ is what Alphonse has, but, in am not sure if he too long winded , i used to appreciate him , more, but….
@@cinmac3 many thanks for your thoughts. All these constructive rest videos are fairly unique to the teacher. For example my active rest sessions are influenced by the teachers I have been trained by and also current life experiences. Consequently they are always evolving. I do not know Alphonse, and would guess the session you refer to with the sternum becoming more flexible is something he did? You might have to ask them for it? It does sound like a lovely thought. As for you not feeling the benefits yet. Firstly thank you for doing the session. Did anything change from the start to the finish? What were you hoping for? Often it is subtle small things that happen in a session and gradually build over time.
@@djaneclappisonalexandertec6241 i thought you all pretty much have the same thing but teach it differently. i need something very much like in my sternam that's is like Alfonse s flexable spine , but, today my ribs are very sore, so i wanted to find one from someone else.
