What always irks me about these “jeopardy winning streaks” is that prior to 2003 a contestant was only allowed to win five consecutive shows, then they were booted off and three new contestants would come back. Who knows what kind of winning streaks there could have been back then.
@@laustcawz2089 They didn't set any records though. Ken= Longest winning streak, most money won in regular season. James= Most money won in a single game. Brad= Most money won over All.
My wife and I loved watching Matt’s run. Was like watching a sports team you like pursue a championship. His expressions and smile were infectious, and I’m looking forward to see him come back in champion events.
My favorite was James Holzhauer. He placed second in the GOAT tournament. He won 1 match Ken Jennings won 3 and the tournament. Brad Rutter won no matches in that tournament
You may want to do an updated list pretty soon. Amy Schneider now has the second-most wins in "Jeopardy!" history. As of today's writing, she now has 40 wins.
There are two errors in the comments about James Holzhauer--he finished second in the Greatest of All Time tournament, not third, and his greatest one-day total was $131,127, not "one hundred thirty-one thousand, one hundred twenty-seven thousand dollars." It should have been noted that Holzhauer not only had the greatest one-day total, he had the top 16 one-day totals (Matt Amodeo broke into that list, but Holzhauer still has the top 12).
James is the only ultra-champion to win Tournament of Champions as of the 2021 TOC (if may be changed if Matt A will win 30th TOC by next year) and the only champion to win more than $100,000 in a single game six times.
I was really enjoying Matt's winning streak and I was hoping he'd get within striking distance of Ken's record. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Ken, but I thought Matt was so awesome too. What would have been cool is that since Ken is slated to start hosting Jeopardy soon, if Matt hadn't lost, he would have been nearing Ken's record while playing a game hosted by Ken himself.
Lets not forget Amodio's streak spanned episodes hosted by Robin Roberts, LeVar Burton, David Faber, Joe Buck, Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik, which is obscene.
I'd love to see a rematch between him and Jonathan Fisher in the finals, so Matt can get his revenge like James Holzhauer did against Emma Boettcher in his TOC.
Is that even possible I thought once you lost..... Well I guess you can still try again but still like one Loss usually you don't see them again either for a while or ever
@@mlggamer5296 Unless they were invited back due to a show mishap, or in a teen tournament, where you can lose they, but advance as a wild card, then lose again, they can't come back for I believe at least 10 years, and only of they don't win. So not likely will remember them.
I think James is the better player now as he's better every time we see him, which Ken said as well now, but Ken has the records since he's been on there more, and he did beat James the first time as well. In terms of playing against each other though I don't think anyone could beat James anymore, even Ken said he wouldn't dare go against the James that was playing in the jeopardy masters. He said that James was a much stronger James, and winning all those games against that competition is unbelievable. Matt, Amy, Mattea, and many other tough players. Ken said there's no way anyone could have dominated players of that caliber the way James did. He said James works on jeopardy in his free time lol, which was a joke obviously. That said, Ken is respected and should have the GOAT title. James likely won't go enough there enough to take that title. He doesn't care.
What I also loved about James what that most of his bets at the end were linked to family. He said in an interview that he wanted to win a certain amount on one day which was also a record at the time. That amount was the numbers were the dates his daughter was born on so what a way to honor his daughter then by using her birthday as a record

But he was taken out by Nancy Zerg and game number 75 but basically what I'm saying is some of those games he played were runaways the rest well you know that part. But the bottom line is so now that Ken Jennings has gone from contestant now to hosting Jeopardy I think that is why he made his mark on the game show itself. And now he's about to embark on something that he truly special to him. And I think that this is in tribute and in honor of Alex trebek. And besides that Alex trebek would be proud of Ken jennings. I really wonder if Ken were to be a contestant again how he'd do, like could he come close to 74 again? how is it only one other person has even managed half that?
