I have listened to those Agatha Raisin books and thouroughly enjyed them too and i agree Keith narrated them very well. I did June on the Range last year and it was fun doing it, but am not going to do it this year, hope you enjoy it!

I hadn’t heard of most of these, so it was interesting to hear about them.

Yes, June on the Range is about reading Western novels. I've already chosen four novels to read, or maybe five. I realized today that my attraction for this genre must trace back to my childhood with grandparents who watched all the Western shows on TV: Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Virginian, and probably others. A few years ago I read The Virginian by Owen Wister which is said to be the first Western novel. Since then I've read a few others and really enjoyed June on the Range last year. Sidenote: I did not like Lonesome Dove because of the way the female character was portrayed and talked about and treated by the male characters. That novel won a Pulitzer prize for fiction however, and many other Booktubers talk about how much they love it. Maybe I was the only person who didn't appreciate it.

I keep missing the live discussion for John Bellairs. I added comments to the first one when I watched the replay but I don’t think anyone sees them. Would it be possible post an announcement when you decide on the date and time for the next one? Silly UA-cam doesn’t notify me when you go live 😢

I have never come across or even heard of a guy who blames women for everything. That is what manosphere is? Weird. I was wondering if I have a westernish book as well. I think I have a southwest book. LOL I hope you have a great weekend Angie.

That’s one big aspect of the redpill/manosphere. They also take great pleasure in demeaning and humiliating women, especially “fallen” women. These poor men just want a hot virgin trad wife but there are no quality women only fatties with a high body count. So these so-called high value men are left with no other option but to sleep around (since all women are wh**res anyway) and cheat on their fat wives. That pretty much sums them up. I was commenting all that on your video today, but my comments kept getting deleted. That’s what makes it toxic and not Biblical by any stretch of the imagination.

I agree with what you said about some people labeling all masculinity as toxic. And I think that’s why the whole manosphere thing started-as a way to defend masculinity, which is a beautiful thing when it’s godly and Biblical. But it’s been taken over by people like Andrew Tate, Pearl Davis, and the Whatever podcast. Their form of masculinity resembles nothing like what God intended. I’m truly convinced Satan is using the manosphere and people like those I mentioned to sow anger and division between men and women.

Pearl Davis, ironically, is a big name in the manosphere. She just repeats things she hears these men say and they lap it up. Here’s a link to a debate she had. The things she says in the debate are tame compared to what she says on Twitter. ua-cam.com/users/liveuB7OuwPh3rw?si=EUb_AtVymN7-yDPB

@@angieandthegreatworld Wow, these men sound like narcissists. But I've not come across this attitude. Out of curiosity, what do these men look like? Are they the chads all of the young girls are throwing themselves at and then crying on social media because they got dumped?

@@angieandthegreatworld I've heard of Andrew Tate. I'll need to research Pearl Davis. That name doesn't sound familiar. I've not heard of the Whatever podcast either. It almost sounds as if they're behaving like toddler's. Ugh, society is so messed up right now and men and women are in a state of arrested development and don't know how to grow up and treat each other with respect let alone have a relationship. You are right. We are in a spiritual battle.

Oh I know what you’re talking about with a bad taste in your mouth. I’m rereading Comanche Moon and Lonesome Dove for June on the Range 😊
