  • Time for Snowball to Grandmaster Episode 6! Today I make a play for Orient, but another player is behind me. Can I come back and win from a challenging situation?
    RULES
    1. I have 45 minutes to win each game starting after the last capital is placed down. A timer will show the amounts.
    2. If I cannot win in 45 minutes, I have to take a punishment. These punishments include:
    Give Someone Else First
    Skip 3 Turns
    Turn camera animations 3 Turns
    Fortify All Troops Off Capital
    Self-Destruct Into a Capital
    Break All Bonuses No Allies
    Cannot Fortify for 3 Turns
    Manual Roll for 3 Turns
    3. These punishments can be updated based on audience feedback.
    4. This series will show wins and losses. I cannot win every game by doing a snowball! I will make mistakes and be in tough positions!
    5. The series starts at 0-2 as I have technical difficulties setting up some backend stuff. I am at 0 skillpoints when the series began.
    6. All games will be on Europe Advanced Progressive Capitals!

Great series, Olive. Love not knowing if it’s a win or loss beforehand.

Those were terrible master and grandmaster players, I'm shocked because i wouldn't have placed either of them over Expert. Red could have won that game for 20 turns and just didnt do anything

Yeah, I think there’s a number of grandmasters that win purely by outlasting everyone. I’m not sure how they can allocate hours upon hours to a single game, and what’s the point of “ranking up” if all they do is take a card and pass

Red was like doing nothing x2. IRL and in the game of Risk.

White should have realized, you only wanted the cap. He was getting 36 troops and had to be open to letting some of that go. He instead played like a noob. And red, my gosh, I thought he played terribly. The only criticism I have of this new format is that sometimes it could be more fun not to spin the wheel if it is an epic game.
But, generally, it is cool to see you trying to get to GM and having to play more strategically. It's also cool to see you lose. Hopefully, this will be reflected in your vid stats.

Yeah if a game is epic I would love to play it out but I have to follow the rules here. Right now views are down especially in last video. This can be because I made fewer videos as I was busy with IRL stuff this month. This is a good test to see if losses can do well or if I should stick with wins going forward

Well played by white this game! White would probably have won if you didn't self destruct to him

he played that really well as why would you ever intervene when two players are self destructing as it's just a free troop lead for red. The only thing he possibly did wrong was not going for either OliveXC kill or white kill but even so the troop lead is so immense it was a winning situation anyways so sometimes you just have to except that the passive play is the correct play even with troop lead.

Red and pink were so passive

Pink couldn't help but be passive given his situation but red saw two players fighting and probably thought let me get powerful while these two players self destruct. If the red player was smarter he might've been able to snag the kill of OliveXC or White but there are a lot of players who wait for a victor then go in with their big troop lead to clean up so yeah I don't hate the passive play.

why kill pink in first or take black you alot think so you be lose alot

You should have just killed pink early while he was card blocked. You weren't actually getting stronger. Having the one point would have won you that game.

White was targeting to kill me. If I killed pink white kills me. White made a move and forced me to self-destruct. I should have attacked earlier realizing white as going all out here

@@OliveXC not at first. White was busy with other players before he got to you. When pink had card blocked themselves, you had a trade in, then another trade the turn after. You should have used your turns when you had 2 trade ins and 2 turns of having a bonus to just massacre pink. White left you alone for quite a long time before he went for you.
I actually like you though, you're a very good player but even the best make mistakes. The game isn't called "Risk" for nothing. I can see that you just didn't capitalise on your advantage early enough is all.
