I was watching another channel and they were bagging the red sawdust and selling it to people for making their closet and dressers smile nice. You might think I’m doing the same while you’re cutting the cedar. Stay safe 🇨🇦✌️

One thing you could try is buy metal corners so the banding doesn’t pull down into your boards. Metal is the best but you can also buy plastic corners that are much cheaper.

One more mod became necessary , on the detent lever , for the carriage height adjustment, there is a collar with a set screw to hold the release lever in place . Retighten that screw and add some RTV to keep it from vibrating loose . .. mine flew into sawdust not to be seen again, I ordered a new one .. lesson learned ..

I had the same issue with the little collar flying off and getting lost right in the middle of sawing a log. I drilled a hole in the shaft. Put two washers on it and a cotter key. No more issues.. I did find the collar later.

I’m sure you watch Nathan @OutOfThe Woods you tube channel. He swears by the silver tip turbo 7 sawblades. He has a link to Joe Maine over in Georgia and can get the blades a lot cheaper than from Wood Mizer. Just a tip, not a suggestion. If you’re set on a 10 degree maybe Joe has some at a lower price. Great video and good CUTTIN! I know that cedar smells so good!,👍

Thanks so much! I watch him as well. I’m will have to compare pricing. I use Kilgore Saw Company out of Arkansas for all my saw blades. Been great to me with pricing so far!

Generally speaking you need to be pushing 25 or more horsepower to run 7* blades effectively

I have gotten some new blades that needed sharpened out of the box. Cant figure out why it is that way but it is what it is. Does the new saw take the 13'2'' band?

  • @terrymott9282

If I understand correctly, you cut with that large vertical mill, then re-saw etc. on a 'push' mill. Found you on cotontop3 video when you were DONE with the HM130 and sere running the LX55. Then I see an even bigger WoodMizer on your videos. Did the 55 break down? Was there something particular that put you off? I'm REALLY close to pulling the trigger on that machine as my first mill. More and more the Woodland machines seem puny. I don't have thousands to shake and bake with, and need honest input on the LX55 that would be greatly appreciated, sir.

Lx55 never let me down. Worked flawlessly. I just upgraded to a larger mill. Stay with Woodmizer!
