Hey man just wanted to get on here and say I’m about to start my apprenticeship for local 10 out here in Kansas City and your videos have pushed me to go all in! Thank you for your content and god bless.
Good thing that you're being transparent about the work in our trade. True that new apprentices get the grunt work. If you're thinking about getting into ironworking...depending on the union in your area, you might not be doing structural work at all. You might end up doing rebar or curtain wall, which is completely different from what you see in these videos.
2yrs as well too, I’m still out at TSMC with W&W started from period 1 now I’m up at 4th per, went from firewatching too actually welding and doing the detail work it does take time, 100% I didn’t know what ironworking was I didn’t know what I signed up for, but know I do and now I do and I am also still learning too
This year is the year I’ll be applying for the apprenticeship and I can’t fuckin wait. Been interested in becoming an ironworker for about 2 years now and I got real serious about it over these last few months. Gona be taking online courses to get my GED and soon as I get that it’s game time!
I have 15 years of ironwork experience I’m certified in 3/4G stick and wire. Can connect, layout, rig, etc. I want to join but I’m scared I’ll be taking a huge pay cut to start over at the beginning
Well it’s been both. I’ve been with the same company since I moved to Phoenix, about 2 years now. But I had to go through the hall and get a work order with them.
Serious question here. How much you making a week?Im starting up soon and never been union and very curious. The person i spoke to mentioned %ages and he lost me haha😅
It’s different for everyone body is what I’m learning. But I wanna say period 1 gets 60% of 33ish dollars. If you’re on your shit you can always make more.

If you have that much experience, they won't make you start at the bottom.
@@locklin91 I’m actually heading down to apply this week

Haven't seen you connecting anything or on any big jobs.
Where’d you get your hard hat?
are you usually working through the hall or are you with the same company constantly?
Well it’s been both. I’ve been with the same company since I moved to Phoenix, about 2 years now. But I had to go through the hall and get a work order with them.

Las Vegas ironworkers are over 44hr for journeyman. AZ is low wage for union ironworkers. Sucks
@@erikmunoz602 Hey Boss, I'm in Las Vegas and am trying to get into the 433 IW. What are the wages for period 1 apprentices here in Vegas? thank you.
