President Reagan speaks to Congress on the outcome of the Geneva Summit. This summit marks the first time President Reagan and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev meet.
November 21st, 1985
Reagan said in his autobiography that when he entered the House chamber for this 1985 speech he got the biggest, loudest ovation of his presidency in Congress the night he came home from his first summit with Gorbachev.
the first person I ever voted for was Renaldus Magnus!
Indeed! How the Great Man is missed!
Best wishes from Brazil
i wish we had someone like this back in office
Ronald Reagan is the great communicator.
To those people who called Reagan dimwitted ... all this without a teleprompter.
did he need a teleprompter? I think not. He genuinly loved his country.
Reagan number one !!!!
The majority of America loved Reagan.
@ThunderAppeal There's an understatement.....almost everyone loved him.....very few hated him.
Actually, he has a really good voice.
On what do you base your opinion? President Reagan was one of the greatest! Why? No, he wasn't just someone with speech ability, though, he was perhaps the greatest on that category, the difference between him and Clinton and Him and Obama, is that Reagan MEANT WHAT HE SAID AND SAID WHAT HE MEANT! Obama and Clinton say things that they think people want to hear! President Reagan, through his philosophy of "peace through strength" won the cold war!
C´mon One of the Greatests. Washigton, Jefferson, Jackson, Monroe, Lincoln, Teddy and FDR.
That man had a deep love of this nation that we have not seen in the white house since he was last there and for far too long before his arrival
Yeah we were in such good shape before Reagan, high interest rates, high unempoyment, high inflation. Life was so good before Reagan
And I don't recall Reagan going uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh ... and having to do a teleprompter rollback.
yep,back in the day,when everything was right with America!!!!!!
Carter Really tried and Tried hard but the job was too big for him..
...the majority of the world....you mean...
@Worrier316 Fact
absolutely. Carter was shocking to look at and even more shocking to listen to.
YOu are getting in the middle of discussion with esb84, he does not seem to have an understanding of the scriptures regarding homosexuality, this topic came about due to a debate that went into what makes true Christianity.
Look at George H in the back, it went downhill after he took over, and his Son... He should have pulled out when he did Barbara........
Ah the good old days of the 80s, when a Democrat Speaker could and would introduced a Republican President, with sincerity and respect. Not like today with so much bipartisanship
So do you think that Ronald Regean was a goo President or basd, and if you think he was bad ,who is better?
@MattRyanHorn Indeed, it was a time when American starry eyed positive outlook on the future hinged on how much a potential Commander in Chief would make sure to capitalize on Americas strengths. Whereas today the idiot elect makes sure to run around the world apologizing for them.
As for the Bible, that is my life, I believe the Bible is the Word of God and I make note and write all over it. Because the Bible is just a book, who makes known the Word of God. Nothing wrong to write on it. As for the US, it is also my country, I have dual citizenship.
@FanDaElis
Is this clip about Homosexuality?
So what the hell are u pointing at?
Scratch my head
esb84, I worship God, and God alone! What do you mean by "being a Christian?" So, you are a Christian, hum? So then you are "for marriage between a man and woman!" As a Christian, then, you are against homosexuals in the military, is that correct?
Romans 1:27,28: "27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Yes, I am a simpleton! See, I believe the Bible is the Word and Will of God! If that is simpleton I plead guilty!
@FanDaElis
You say you cannot see him, but yet the bible represents him?
That would mean you could see him.
So what are you meaning?
Contradiction after contradiction.
I say you can see his CREATION.
The bible is not written by god.
Has many authos, but GOD never wrote a chapter in it.
So plz don't claim that.
They all were humans that authored the bible.
ALL
@FanDaElis
What anout GOD?
Could he be more important then the bible?
What if HE/SHE/IT disagrees with the bible?
Would you stick to God or the bible?
Think about that.
esb84, my beliefs are that when it comes to political choices, it is always a matter of choosing the least damagind individual. My "political views" are based upon my biblical views! So, for me, the Bible is what determines what is right and wrong! If you are Christian, read Romans chapter 1 all the way through and see what God says about homosexuals.
Ispiration of God tells we you are wrong and close to blasphemy.
God does not need to write to a book.
The next thing is you tell me that Chist is born again and that you are a/the new born Christ.
Seems like many Americans lost contact to God and instead chose heredity.
Good morning, mr esb84, "dumbass"?? Yours is a quite nice vocabulary! No, I am not going to result to that kind of language in any kind of debate. "Peace through" strength, remember? Ronald Reagan, made the United States a strong nation! That won the cold war, whether you accept it or not. What is wrong with him signing Bibles? I believe the Bible is The Word and Will of God!
So Jesus Christ is all about peace, hum? How about this quote, it is Jesus Christ sepaking: Luke 12:51,52: "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. "
Well, schusterlehrling, God is Holy, and God is Spirit, God is HOLY SPIRIT, and you can not see, touch, smell, hear or taste God. He reveals himself through the scriptures, The Bible. John 1:1, says that God is The Word (The Bible).
There you go again! (Remember that quote?) "you jerk" ??? Can we keep our conversation in a civilized manner? It is OK to disagree, but let us stay cool! Explain to me how did I pretend to be God? I do claim I study the Bible quite a bit! That is true! And yes, since the Bible is the only source for believing and practice I do quote it!
schusterlehrlilng, the natural man does not understand spiritual things (II Corinthians 2:14). As for how we got the Bible, in II Timotthy 3:16 says "All scriptures is given by inspiration of God (theopneustos - breathed of God) ... " In II Peter 1:20,21 it says the scriptures did not come "by the will of men." Men wrote what God gave them to write. It is the Word of God!
