Nothing beats a free education, and you Sir, consistently provide valuable information that is backed by science, engineering and your extensive off road experience…all free of charge to your subscribers. As a certified “Boomer” (I’ll be 75 in November) I have zero problems embracing new technology. In 24 years in the Army, I became intimately familiar with the M151A1/2 Jeep, 2.5 and 5 ton trucks, and at the end of my career, the HMMV. ATRAC, MTS, Crawl Control, Down Hill assist in modern Toyota/Lexus vehicles (and comparable systems in other brand vehicles) are light years ahead, period. Thanks for doing what you do…
@mikespight6157 Thank you for your happy words of support 🙏. I do believe the military Humvee had NO lockers and instead used Torsens(now owned by Toyota/Jtekt) front, center, and rear 😉
I swear the impressions of the so called "off roaders" is spot on! 😂 I've literally heard these misunderstood parts of Lockers & A-trac misquoted MANY times.
OMG, you are talking about the controversial “A word” again!😂😂😂I wanted to thank you for the education on Toyota based traction control systems. I have watched plenty of GX 550 reviews and they love the rear locker lol. They never ever talk about Atrac.
@deanrotering879 lolz... yes this "a word" video inspired by you 😃 ... As for the 550 and the rear locker, yep, same old repeating, they have no idea why they like the rear locker, nor any remote comparative relationship to ATRAC/MTS... again most are soft-touch-interior, 0-60 NPCs shilling for who knows who... and not saying that's wrong or bad.... that's just what it is 😆
😂😂😂😂😂 lock it up, lock it down for big Boulder bash😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡love it, keep the great content coming! I hear so much nonsense and people not knowing what the buttons mean probably should read the manual🎉😂o one more thing LOCKIT!!!!!😆
THANK YOU THANK YOU ! ! ! I was wondering if all these new traction control systems were just a cheap way for manufacturers to keep from spending the money for real lockers. BUT NOW I UNDERSTAND these systems are better at traction , but still probably not STUPID PROOF,LOL. Let me rephrase that we probably need to read the manual and Learn what the systems can and cannot do .
@@marvinjacobs2955 Toyota includes lockers in some markets for marketing/nostalgia purposes... the same reason the Landcruiser 300GRS has a CD PLAYER 💿 😆 🤣
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD exactly. My 2024 TRD PRO has MTS, etc., but still has a ELock on the rear diff. I have to guess that as long as I don’t lock it up, and use MTS instead it’s just “there” and offers no real benefit. But…if I do choose to lock it, but decide to switch to MTS (any of the sub modes), I’ll have to manually unlock the rear first.
I'll see your theory and raise you with my own theory: Some people simply prefer to have (and push) that beloved button with the hieroglyphic symbol "X" on it...rather than pressing the button that says "A-TRAC." That "X" definitely marks the spot in the brains of certain folks. "When I press that 'X' button, my rig becomes invincible." 🤣🤣

Came for the post-apocalyptic hellscape you call home, but stayed for the sermon on the gospel of ATRAC.
All Toyota 4x4 owners need to warch this....Bravo!
I'm a new gx460 owner. I xame across your channel and I can ohneslty say I've learned plenty of good information about my new truck. 👍🏽 great channel.
Yes, Toyota and MrGx are the best!

The old hand brakes you spoke of gave me flash backs of my old "big wheel" when i was a kid. Another great video, thank you good sir!

@robertdutka3409 I think so? A Sony or whatever... the other one we use is a TASCAM... tascam is better quality, Sony is more convenient/grab-and-go
