Rumors have surfaced that they’re gonna replace 161’s colors to another locomotive by next year, maybe the P42 or the charger. It’s not yet confirmed though so we’ll have to wait and see.
I remember when I first caught 161, it was shiny, brand new. In fact, it was my favorite Amtrak heritage unit. Seeing what happened, it is truly disappointing.
It was removed from a train that came in from the South running on the CSX main because the rest of the run North would be handled by an electric over the North EastbCorridor

Dang, i think Amtrak locomotives with the phase 1 have bad luck, first , it was 156, and now 161.
Same With the phase 2 first it was 66 and now 130.
