Twitch friendly 100%. Very funny to watch, easy laugh. Great OST to the point the VAs went in several concerts around Japan (Rebo-con) for years. It's not an isekai. Reborn is the name of the fedora baby. He is the strongest hitman in the world and his job is to tutor Tsuna, MC, into being the best mafia boss of the most important/powerful famiglia. Problem? Tsuna is a dumb, lazy, coward kid (not his fault, really, he is bullied by everyone and his self steem is non existent) The first part of the series is just dumb comedy. After that is that same comedy mixed with epic battles. There are a lot of characters, 7 per group, because the power system in this universe works like this: there's a special energy some people can use created from their will to live. It's divided in 7, each flame colour (rainbow colours) corresponds to an element with weather related names and has its own skills (Red-storm/destrucction, Blue-rain/calmness, Yellow-sun/active..ness? [healers], Green-thunder/durability, Indigo-mist/creativity [illusions], Purple-cloud/propagation [the second rarest], Orange-sky/harmony [rarest, the leaders]) The rings are the medium to use that flames. The animals... a power up in the last arc of the anime where they gave their flames a body to help them fight the bad guys. The anime is completed but not all the manga. There are 2 arcs more, but the ending itself is more or less the same. Tsuna rejecting being a mafia boss but now surrounded by friends
I am glad you did this one , Hitman reborn is one of the most underrated animes also definitely not an Isekai, its more a Shounen the first 5 ep do feel out of place and meh but after you get to the shounen stuff its pretty awesome. hopefully you are able to enjoy it yourself sometime
@@kipp3384 They kept it going for to long. Should have ended it with the Future Arc. After that one it just went downhill all the way. And yes, the ending pissed me off as well. I was a big fan of the series and it felt like a punch in the face.
One thing to keep in mind for anyone who's interested in watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn. The first like 20 episodes are basically a gag comedy anime. The author was originally intending the entire series to be like that. While you might also enjoy that anyways there are lots of people who weren't really interested in that. Afterwards the author thought this could be a great shonen action, and changed the tone of the story completely and made it really epic so it kicks it into a way higher gear and becomes a lot better.
Thats very typical for gag manga, if a gag manga isn't doing well in the ratings in shonen jump they'll typically shift toward being a more mainstream battle manga to avoid cancellation. Sometimes it works well like with Reborn and other times it still just flops.
Ah. Was it 20? I was thinking about 15. I’ve watched the series I think 4 times, but skipped most of those episodes twice. I don’t regret watching them, but I don’t need to see them ever again lol
Hitman Reborn is a series that definitely needs a Reboot! It was a blast to watch/read, and with new animation it could pop off! The power system they use was so interesting! I remember wanting to have the different Dying Will Flame powers all the time!
Yeah I love the power system, and it's fun trying to decide which Flame characters from other stories would have. (Also I have six siblings, you bet I divided the Flames between us and even drew us that way :D )
i just want the last two damn arcs to be animated... 😭 IF bleach can get a sequel too finish up the manga well over 10 years later surely Reborn has a chance.
@@DXDragon38 I was thinking about "what would fit me" rather than what I want and came to the conclusion that it's gotta be Mist because I keep daydreaming, doing fanart etc so constructing illusions would fit best :D If I could choose what I *want*... damn that's pretty difficult actually, I can't choose!
The author originally wanted it to be a slice of life series but at a point she turned it into a shounen so it's a slow burn at the start but the action scenes after that are so worth it
the clash of the gag side with the action side is one of the best moments of the show for me kinda like GIntama which also has it like this and it's much more beloved and popular. When the playful Yamamoto turns out to be the most sinister that Reborn mentors him, Adult Lambo making an appearance and dropping mad foreshadowing with the 10 year bazooka gag, Tsuna's boxer form suddenly loses casually from the appearance of Squalo. It didn't just switch, Amano really made good use of the daily life arc for the tone switch which is why I don't recommend skipping it entirely, it's just too long and the jokes are a bit mid.
Those "little dudes" are by far the weirdest and most interesting plot element of this anime. I love them so much and their ost (they are called Arcobalenos I think) is incredible.
@@karebear3152 I don't think the name of their little 'group' is much of a spoiler, especially because they didn't go into any details ABOUT the Arcobaleno (which would contain MASSIVE spoilers).
@@Anonymous-td9fl I definitely did not mean the Varia arc when I wrote that comment but later on they definitely become Tsuna's allay even if Xanxas would never admit it.
@@masterofkurkuma3067 yea that ending was great but the next act in the manga is so crazy good so a fan like me and everyone else i know really want another season or just remake the animation
This one NEEDS a reboot that sticks to the manga and workshop a bit of the long arc and the pacing and finish the story! It would become a hit one more time like it was back then
Sigh The anime is extremely faithful minus stuff from the gag segments. The anime adapted the entire manga. People forget that the manga ENDED then the author came back and did a new set of arcs long after the anime had wrapped up the future storyline. Do I want that stuff adapted? Sure. But like....so much of the anime is just 1 to 1 to the manga that all a reboot could do is have a budget. Also No one bring up gokuderas smoking, christ, the author dropped him smoking herself afterawhile. It's not the important missing details People make it out to be
Yooo, this show was my childhood. I would say the plot itself isn't really that deep (although its pretty decent) but the characters and their dynamics and developments are what truly sold this story. It's amazing if you enjoy a light-hearted and action-packed show where you can just enjoy the goofiness and baddass moments of characters. The worldbuilding is hella solid as well.
To answer some things: -Mafia. -The name of the small dude with the hat and chameleon is Reborn, hence the name Katekyo Hitman Reborn since he is basically the teacher of the mc (Katekyo somewhat means teacher) -The small dudes are actual babies/toddlers -Yes there are basically pokemons, but they're handled in a different but good way imo -Around 200 episodes, and from opening 4 onwards, some time travel shenanigans happens which explains why you thought "their dads" suddenly appeared -The anime only covered four arcs of the manga, namely: Daily Life Arc, Kokuyo Gang Arc, Varia Arc and finally the Future Arc. The Shimon/Inheritence Arc and Curse of the rainbow Arc are manga only. KHR is really underrated because the first arc, the Daily Life Arc puts off people since it's just a comedy/character introduction arc with slowly paced episodes imo, which makes people quit watching before they reach episode 20, where the anime becomes somewhat serious. KHR started as a gag manga, but due to poor sales the mangaka had to switch to a battle shounen.
Everybody thinks it's their dads instead of their 10 year older versions lol. I guess if you've seen the show and know about a certain item that a character has it makes more sense but going in blind. I've never known an anime where "their dad" looks exactly like the kid though...
Tsuna (Our main boy) is one of those that make you think 'How have you survived this long?', he's super clumsy, scared of absolutely everything, and always fails his classes, then one day the baby Reborn turns up at his house to be his home tutor (Katekyo) not only in life and studies, but to train him to become 10th Head of the Vangola mafia; the strongest and respected there has ever been. It kinda jumps in the deep end at after season 3 with the boxes and animals and crazy powers, but they manage to make it all work into story. Now the manga has finished, the anime excludes the final arc, not sure why but my guess is that it didn't pull in the views unlike it's competition, i.e Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and other Shonens at the time. Also since you've been after OSTs, been meaning to recommend 'Tsuna's Awakening' for a while, has that Rocky feel to it.
The reason why they didn't adapt the last 2 arcs was because the anime caught up to it and wanted to wait a while before making it, but during that time the studio went bankrupt due to other reasons and it never got made.
Reborn is the hidden gem of shonen. It's an absolutely amazing series with a fun story, and absolutely amazing soundtracks. Its one of my favorite anime ever since I watched it. Old school shonen like Reborn are so special. The characters in the show ESPECIALLY the mc are extremely relatable and well written. It definitely deserves a reboot but I fear that a reboot would not do it justice. Also check out the endings as well, reborn has NO MISSES soundtrack wise.
Finally KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN WOOOOOOOOO One of the few anime that I felt so attached with the characters, love and miss it so much Ummm that's not their parents. Ok, imma just say this, there is a time travel element in the show. To this day, Tsuna is still one of the drippiest shounen MC for me, and one of my fav too.
Almost can’t believe my eyes that KHR made it here! It is SO RARE to see reactions videos of KHR. Hell yes if you wanna watch it, it’s a slow starter but it gets good, definitely better for Twitch. The one thing I love about this anime is how creative the concept of their power is in incorporating different elements to them.
I'm good lol. This is my all time favorite series is all and it's so under appreciated and unknown I was just shocked. I'm one who had suggested these openings a long time ago too so I'm just so happy! @@awaisdawood2213
This Anime holds a special place in my heart. I actually bought that ring set and gave them out to my friends who resembled the personalities of the Vongola family. Good time
My friend group did similar! I still remember crowding around to catch up with the latest manga chapters. All our nicknames were based on characters. I got Mukuro and my best friend was Yamamoto. Her little brother was also an excellent fit for Lambo. XD STILL IS TEN YEARS LATER. Our Gokudera and I made a game out of butting heads. I sent a singing Valentine to her one year. It was glorious. And our Hibari was "married" to the school. Unfortunately our Tsuna moved away and our Ryohei left us. Otherwise, the rest of us still communicate and hang out. I'm actually attending as best mate at Yamamoto'a wedding this year. It so desperately deserves a reboot. It's so much fun and I know we aren't the only ones with memories like this! 💜
right! he even had a remark that he likes the energy and positivity in that song. well Tsuna's group needed that positivity cause they lost that battle. 😅
This is a very underated show, the character development is great, its fun, and it gets you invested. Hope one day that they reboot this anime. One of my favorites out of the old anime.
It is one of those anime fan shows. I kind use it to figure out when people started watching anime and/or whether or not the are a cas or a weeb. 9.9/10 out of 10 if someone has heard of reborn! And watched it they at least like it. And is a surprisingly deep shonen pull
I watched this anime and read the manga around the time I was 15. I am currently 30. It's a finished series that ended over 10 years ago. I highly recommend it.
My First Introduction to anime was seeing DBZ where Goku was just screaming the whole episode then turned it off and I was like: Alright that's enough TV for today then I misclicked and saw Tsuna battling Xanxus turning his hands to ice
Finally! The songs in this anime are really good! Not just the OPs and EDs but the character songs, too! Character songs meaning most of the named casts have their own songs they sing in character and there are songs where they sing altogether as well. I love listening to "Familia - Yakusoku no Basho he" where they all sing together (there's two versions, one with just Tsuna's groups and the VS Millefiore version adds the other groups to the casts singing). This anime isn't isekai, it's about an ordinary 15 year old boy who finds out he's next in line as a mafia boss and so the baby with a chameleon that turns into a gun enters his life as a tutor, hence the title: Reborn, the hitman tutor who is there to teach Tsuna the ways of being a mafis boss. This was a comedy manga at the beginning and then turned into just straight up shounen action (OP2's visual shows it with the first actual threatening opponents). There are a lot of characters as there are multiple mafia familias showing up as the story progresses. Time travel is involved at some point. Yeah, there are talking babies who are part of the mafia here (they explain it later!). Unfortunately, the anime stops just before they could adapt the last arc in the manga so the anime doesn't have the ending of the story. Still waiting for a miracle for another season. I really enjoyed this show. I don't know if anyone can tell how much I'm trying not to spoil in this comment lol. I also bought Tsuna's Sky ring cause I liked the show a lot. I was planning to buy Hibari's Cloud ring as well but I didn't have the budget to get another ring lol.
FINALLY.... this is an awesome show even if it is not the best ever... but it went way under the radar because it started as a comedy but the author ended up turning it into a proper shounen battle manga a bit later on! so a lot of people dropped it before that happened... Also most of the openings are bangers...
yeah part of the reason it wasnt that popular outside japan was the fact that it came out during the peak of the big 3 when Naruto, Bleach, and OP were dominating shounen it really didnt stand a chance against those juggernauts its too bad D. Grey Man got the same treatment and came out around the same time and that show was good too.
Oh boy, KHR! Makes me nostalgic as heck. Edit: After watching through most of this vid, I can see that our boi here is still confused on the Arcobalenos (aka the baby dudes). Tl;dr is basically, the 6 strongest people in the Mafia world were given these pacifiers that basically turns them into toddlers that will never grow or die of old age. Just think of them as cursed, basically. Those pacifiers also give them access to powers. Edit 2: After finishing the video, yeah man, the story was completed close to 10 years ago. Manga ending feels a little rushed to be honest.
I think the Manga ending feels rushed because it was. If I remember correctly the Mangaka was forced to quickly finish the story without being able to flash out the ending the way it was supposed to be. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here guys.
@@FanisyFreak I agree. The manga was really open ended with Tsuna still saying that he won't inherit the position after all the things they went through during the Inheritance ceremony and the Curse of the Arcobaleno arc. It feels like there was supposed to be one more arc that ultimately pushed Tsuna to accept the position of the 10th boss but the author was forced to end it right before it started.
I mean yes, the manga ending was rushed since the author was told to wrap up the story due to popularity drop. When it comes to the "manga rushed to the end" or "going in a weird, different direction" I think giving Bakuman a watch and/or a read as a story about creating manga really fleshes out how the manga serialization goes
The Katekyo part means "Home Tutor". "Reborn" is the name of the little guy with the chameleon gun. Reincarnation does not automatically equal isekai. The term isekai means "Other World", the word for reincarnation is "tensei" and the two intersect quite often. There are plenty of isekai that don't center around reincarnation, and plenty of anime about reincarnation that don't involve going to another world. It's a common misconception, since there are so many isekai that are reincarnation based. The story started as a gag manga, but shifted into a battle manga when it failed to gain popularity as a gag manga. The first episodes drag a bit for that reason. The series as a whole does have some great battles though.
It needs a Brotherhood treatment where it sticks to the manga while fixing any problems along the way as I know that the fans aren’t happy with its manga ending.
Reborn is AMAZING. Slow start, but after that ABSOLUTE banger. You should definitely watch this. *WITHOUT SPOILERS* its about A regular middle school kid and his friends who get entangled with each other and end up becoming a mafia family. Being part of this family you protect each other no matter what and they truly do thats why I love these characters so much. This mafia family of them has to at multiple points in the show fight to the death (its awesome) and stakes get so high near the end that its not even funny and you start to truly feel their sense of desperation and angst. I dont want to spoil the meanings of the things you have seen in the opening, but oh boy would they be so amazing to spoil. It’d ring you into watching this anime like THAT. Do give it a watch seriously. Again, slow start but after that slow start there are twists like you havent seen in many anime before!
Thank you for reacting to this openings. It brought me back to time. I am crying right now and can't contain my emotions. This has been part of my childhood, it was my first loved anime. I miss the Vongola Famiglia now 💓😩
Yes, the series is finished and sort of wrapped out. It didn't fully adapt the manga it was based on (about 30/42 volumes were adapted), but the ending of the anime still felt satisfying and you don't feel like you're missing out on much. If you watch it, be aware that the entire story was initially laid out as a comedy anime but switched direction about 20 episodes in - then it turned into a typical battle shonen (like Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer whatever). The first 20 episodes are fine and establish quite a lot of characters but they are definitely not why the series is well remembered by a lot of people. On another note, this anime was originally broadcasted in a TV slot for childrens programme (for some reason...) which led to quite a lot of censoring and toned down violence overall compared to the manga. A prominent example is the fact that the character Gokudera (the grey haired dude) is a heavy smoker in the manga, which was cut entirely when they adapted it. The story was mostly kept the same apart from some minor characters that were cut out because literally noone in Japan seemed to like them lol.
*Now THIS is one of the ones I think of when I think "anime from my childhood"!* I watched it way back in school. Katekyo Hitman Reborn and D. Gray Man were my favorite battle shounen back then 😁 And Reborn is a pretty light one at that. They did a good job making the stakes be high while not having messed up stuff happen to get it across. Though if anyone wants to watch, *make sure to keep going all the way to the end of S1 before deciding if you want to keep going.* It starts off as a 100% comedy anime and later turns into the usual battle shounen you would expect. Watching it and then reading the manga was some of the most fun I had as a teenager 😉👍
i legit thought nobody watched these shows but me nobody talks about them but they are both good i think they both came out at the same time as Naruto, Bleach, and OP when they were dominating shounen so shows like these never really got a chance to be popular although i think KHR was popular in japan Allen Walker has some of the best drip in anime when he got upgraded later on.
Yo, KHR! I loved this series - it brings back so many memories. The OST is a banger. Also, an interesting thing about KHR was that it not only had albums of character songs that were done in character by the VAs, but they also held concerts called Rebocon where they'd perform and talk about the show/act in character.
Oh also the endings are fantastic too! There's 16 of them and the last one still hits me in the feels (though that's because I know the context I guess... they knew what they were doing when they made that change for the last episode!😭)
This anime is mostly comedy and light-hearted to intro us to the world of the protagonist but the mafia/gangster theme started to surface during the Varia Arc (roughly during the 2nd opening song run) along with the concept of "attributes" like magic in their setting. Then by the 3rd opening song's run, time travel is introduced and the idea that each mafia "family" has some pact/connection to each other in the past is cemented by then until the rest of the opening song cuz this Arc is so long. The anime did not continue but the manga showed two more Arcs and those are some of the best Arcs in my opinion.
Oh wow Reborn. I just got hit by a freight train of nostalgia! If you do watch this, like others have said below, the first 20 or so episodes are very heavy on the comedy and slice of life, but after that it becomes a hreat fighting Shounen. One of my favourites to this day. Man i need to go rewatch this.
20:10 I burst out laughing when he's giving his all effort to make sense with the anime based on the opening and the title but betrayed ultimately by that one clip that gives pokemon vibes
Your comparison with My Hero Academia is pretty spot on I'd say. It's basically the MHA of 10-15 years (ouch) before MHA. The anime of Katekyo Hitman Reborn started 2006 if I remember correctly and ended in 2010 (again ouch I feel really old now). Although the anime never adapted the last two(?) manga arcs and the manga itself had a rushed ending. This series definitely needs to be reborn (badum tshh). Although it's not really a well known anime nowadays due to its age and never getting a reboot or continuation, I remember a loooot of KHR profile pics in forums in the late 2000s. Either that or profile pictures of Shana from Shakugan no Shana, Louise from Zero no Tsukaima or Amu from Shugo Chara (has Luke reacted to any of those yet?). KHR was basically the Shounen fix for anyone who wanted more of that after binging all of the other big Shounen shows (Naruto, DBZ, One Piece, Bleach). Long before MHA, Jujutsu Kaisen or Demon Slayer gave more of that Shounen fix. It also comes from the time before official streaming services so (sometimes questionable) fansubs were your best friend. Can you even watch KHR on official streaming services nowadays? I feel like this anime is so forgotten that I wouldn't be surprised if it's completely under the radar of those streaming websites.
Wow hitman reborn, this is 1 of those rare series that pretty much switched genres during its run The creator started the series as a gag manga about the protagonist tsunayoshi aka tsuna getting a home tutor because of how badly he does in school only for it to turn out that the home tutor to impossibly be a toddler named Reborn that is a hitman with a gun-transforming lizard pet and has his own agenda to turn/train tsuna into the next mafia boss of the vongola family all the way in Italy because he’s their last living distant descendent of their first generation boss The overall tone was comedic and stupid with an equally ridiculous plot but as the series got more popular the artist wrote the series into a different genre turning it into battle-action oriented by introducing secrets and plot elements that explained away the ridiculousness such as reborn being an adult who was cursed into a baby and other supernatural elements One of the best thing about this series is how unique its combat/magic system is, instead of some psychic, magic or unique ability like most series do in hitman reborn everyone’s life force has a unique wavelength that can be emitted through tools as dying will flame because it’s appearance resemble flames, the wavelength is then categorized under 7 different element called the flames of the sky including sky itself in; sky, storm, rain, cloud, lighting, sun and mist which all have different properties that alter reality in their own certain way combat involves people imputing objects such as tools and weapons with these flames achieving different results giving each and everyone a different fighting style such as lighting flames has a reinforcing/hardening property so when imbued into a sharp objects will increase its structural integrity making it impossibly sharp and strong or even more study for defense, sun flames has an accelerating activity property where imputing it in people will increase their natural healing, body functions and physique but in thing like plants will cause it to grow out of control, rain has tranquility property which tranquilizes things slowing them down to near stillness so can be used to make water molecules still enough to create ice or simply fire a dense mass of it at an opponent to kill them by ceasing their body functions, storm is disintegration to weaken and weathering away at whatever it burns etc Then later in the series there is the 7 flames of the earth including earth flames as a counterpart to the 7 flames of the sky and even special flames that is a combination of 2 flames such as wrath flames being a mix of sky and storm flames or oath flames being a mix of sky and earth flames but overall the main flame elements and their characteristic are Sky Flame, characteristic: Harmony. Storm Flame, characteristic: Disintegration Rain Flame, characteristic: Tranquility Sun Flame, characteristic: Activation Lightning Flame, characteristic: Hardening Mist Flame, characteristic: Construction Cloud Flame, characteristic: Propagation
Katekyo Hitman Reborn and D-dray man are one of the most underrated shows during mid 2000's...and it was the best there is when it was airing... good stuff!
Damn, this made me feel like an old man. I still remember my first watch of KHR, I finished the first arc before the vongola rings competition arc in the span of a day, it rained all day and I just felt like I had a great time watching it. It's a very funny comedy in the first few episodes but still managed to get it serious when shit started popping.
-Hitman reborn is a +10 years old anime who's "officially" finished, the anime have an ending but the very last arc of the story was never adapted, it's currently 203 ep long. -Hitman reborn was originally a gag/comedy manga but the autor switched to a classic shonen fighting manga because of popularity if i remember well. -The pitch is that a highschool kid is one day when he learn that he is in fact the heir of one of the biggest mafia familly, to make him in a fine successor they send him one of the biggest hitman of the world to teach him the ways (the little guy/baby with the black hat). -The anime is really nice, with almost no fillers for a 200+ ep, the start as i said earlier being a gag anime is quite slow but as soon the team is complete the pacing is way better.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn started as a purely comedic manga, but when the popularity started to drop dramatically the author turned into a battle shonen (Same genre as Dragon Ball). The series revolves around Tsuna, a high school boy nicknamed "Tsuna the Useless" because he's not good at sports or academics. One day, Tsuna finds a small child with a yellow pacifier around his neck that tells him "My name is Reborn, I am the best hitman in the world and I have been hired to be your personal tutor by the current leader of Vongola, the most powerful and respected mafia family in the world, because you are the only candidate to become their next boss".
Nostalgia hit me hard on this one 😢 You could say it's finished, but the manga has an additional saga, and maybe the anime end it's a false end, that's more common than you might think, Toriko, Zatch bell are a good example. There are also anime which started with the manga but after some time they changed the whole plot like the 1st full metal alchemist or 1st shaman king.
there are two story arcs that never got adapted but the series did have a rushed finish due to a pending cancelation. i remember there was rumors about what the actual final arc was going to be something about a tower and confronting the true big bad. but sadly nothing came of it and the author went on to write a couple new series, one about a detective and another about space police. and she also did the character designs for psycho pass
Katekyo started as comedy but then the author slowly changed into action with comedy rather then comedy with a bit of action and the transition was so well done like it was planned but it wasn't
I've never seen that anime before, however the final opening feels very "nostalgic", especially the end with the piano and all characters appearing one by one.
The nostalgia holy crap. The anime never finished, but the manga is completed and this just makes me wanna read it all over again. Such a great ride, definitely one of my favorite shounens
Katekyo Hitman Reborn-> Reborn is the name of the little dude with the chameleon so if you translate the title it becomes: Home Tutor Hitman: Reborn. The main character is Sawada Tsunayoshi who is a second year middle school student who doesn't have friends is basically failing every subject and a coward to the core. In short he is a loser. One day Reborn shows up and he tells Tsuna that he is supposed to inherit the Vongola mafia family as the 10th boss. Tsuna doesn't want to have anything to do with the mafia but he doesn't have a choice but to get involved because the friends he makes thanks to Reborns help start to be in danger because of the people targeting him. Of course this also means that his friends or as they are called in the story "family" also need to get stronger because they will eventually lead Vongola alongside Tsuna. The power system is actually really simple. They use deathperation flames (or Dying Will Flames it depends of which taranslation you watch/read.). There are 7 types of flames: Sky, Storm, Sun, Mist, Cloud, Lightning and Rain. Each flame has different properties and different powers with Sky being the strongest of all of them and the other 6 acting as the guardian of the Sky. I won't say more about the power system because I can't explain it without huge spoilers. The little dudes are called Arcobalenos and you only get an explanation on why they exist and why are they like that if you read the Curse of the Rainbow arc in the manga. The anime ran from 2006 to 2010 and has 203 episodes. The anime didn't adapt the manga fully there are 2 more arcs in the manga that didn't get animated and those 2 arcs explain a lot of things and bring the story full circle so I recommend reading them if you decide to watch the anime. The first 20 or so episodes of the anime are pretty hard to get through if you don't like hardcore gag comedy but it picks up as the first serious arc starts and it just gets better and better. Hitman Reborn arcs in order: -Daily Life Arc -Varia Arc -Future Arc - Arcobaleno Trials Arc (anime only) -Choice Arc -Inheritance Succession Arc / Vongola Primo Famiglia Arc -Future Final Battle Arc (This is where the anime ends) -Inheritance Ceremony Arc/Shimon family arc (manga) -Curse of the Rainbow Arc (manga) Also the endings are really good as well so you should definitely check those out too.
Finding a video about or ralating to hitman reborn is really rare, so it's refreshing to see your reaction! Also seeing just how confused you look trying to peace together what it's about was hilarious lol
I loved how genuine your reactions are!! 💜 that's how now I'm BEGGING for you to watch and react to this series. I swear it's really entertaining! At first, the first 20 or more episodes will trick u to make u think that it will be your normal school/powers anime BUT THEN IT EXPLODES. And the story grows SO MUCH explaining EVERYTHING about all the family and the little dudes! So please give it a chance! 🙏💜
I saw this on my recommendations and I made an overjoyed squeak. I love Katekyo Hitman Reborn 😭❤️ There are some articles saying it is coming back but it isn’t clear if it is a reboot or the last arc that never got animated
Day 105 of recommending the Beyblade openings. There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
Wow this one takes me back to when I was first getting into anime. It starts out kind of slow, but I thought it was pretty amazing after it picked up some steam. I'd say this is worth a watch. Also it was really great seeing you go off and make theories about what's going on in the show. Non-spoiler explanation is that the show is about a guy being trained to be the next head of a Mafia family.
YOOOO can't believe you did one on this?! Lez goooo. I loved the openings, the anime and everything. The final arc kinda like Bleach just hasn't been animated. So I'm gonna read the manga for it. I loved this show as it started of as a quirky school life with superpowers and then transitions from comedy+school life to action and fighting!
I really support you watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn. It is a comedy with a decent amount of episodes. The characters are great with a lot of funny moments and intense battles! This anime is so nostalgic to me (I don't know how to explain but it follows the format of how shounen was made in 2000) you should definitely watch it! By the way, love your reactions!!!!!! ❤
I don't remember too much stuff from Katekyo Hitman Reborn since I've watched it ages ago but I do know that I loved it. To this day it still brings me joy to see some characters from this anime... I believe is very much worth to watch the anime.
One of my favorite anime/manga of all time. It started as a comedy/gag manga and quickly changed into a full-on shounen battle series. I'd love to see you watch it - it is on the longer end of the spectrum though (204 episodes)
Hi man, I was just going down memory lane and looking for KHR videos on youtube and just found yours. Subscribed after too. Thank you for making this. Brought tears to my eyes hearing the song and seeing my beloved characters all over again. KHR is truly that hidden shounen gem of an anime that is so underrated because dragonaball, one piece, fairy tail, naruto and bleach just cast large shadows. Underneath those shadows though is KHR shining bright like a diamond. Hope you watched the series and it gave you some joy.
Yes!!! KHR doesn't get enough love, it never came to the west really but at the height of its popularity is was practically number 2 runner up with one piece in Japan. Such a good anime/manga and def one that I would wish more ppl give a try to.
All you need to know about the story is that there are killer babies, time travel, the mafia, and superpowers manifesting from personality/character traits through pseudo-death. And magic rings created by ancient super aliens. Don't forget about them.
Such nostalgic feelings with these songs TT_TT I remember buying the Vongola ring sets in Japan during my high school times and distributed them to my best friends as a symbol of our friendship.
Holy moly, this is nostalgic. I used to re-watch some of these openings all the time. There were a few great tracks on the soundtrack as well. Has some good action and comedy, more serious moments as it goes. Definitely a fun one. Kinda gold watching you try to figure out what it's about as each opening escalated xD. It isn't an isekai and starts off as a comedy series before moving to the more action oriented stuff. I can't remember properly but think there wasn't enough of the manga out when the anime was airing so the rest of the manga hasn't been animated, just a portion of it.
I’m so glad you finally reacted to it! I remember being one of the people in the comments asking for it last year 😭 If you do decide to watch it, bare in mind that the first 20 episodes are mainly slice of life comedy while the rest is where the true action lies. Its a good anime to watch leisurely for sure. And truly a hidden gem! ❤
Some underrated openings and endings that you should react to are Boogiepop And Others, ID invade, Angels of Death, How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, and BNA
Omg this brings so much memories~ I love Katekyo hitman reborn!!! ❤❤❤ The anime aired in 2006 and ended 2010. More than 13 years ago~ The anime has ended along with the manga.
This really hits me with so much nostalgia!! I remember that the "Boys & Girls" opening is my most favorite opening of the show and seeing the visuals again especially with baby Lambo running and transitioning to adult Lambo hyped me up so much as a kid. Thanks for reacting to this.
Hitman Reborn is the anime I have the absolute most nostalgia for. It's a 203(+2 ovas)-episode long anime that aired from 2006 to 2010. It's about a total pushover of a kid learning that he's the next in line to be the head of a massive mafia family. "Reborn" is in the title for two reasons. Reason number one, the little dude's name is Reborn. Reason number two, the combat system revolves around effectively being reborn from one's dying will. At the beginning of the show, there's this bullet called a "Dying Will Bullet" which is capable of pushing a character into a "Dying Will Form" that will pretty much stop at nothing to set things straight. It's kinda like they're resurrected with a sole purpose. It makes for some really funny episodes as the show is a genuinely good comedy. That said, while it starts off as a comedy, it progresses into a full-on action show after 20-something episodes. This is what makes the show so interesting and memorable for me. By all accounts, it's a simple series even after it pivots into action. But since you have what is effectively a 24 episode comedy anime stapled to the front, you REALLY feel for the main cast and gag abilities suddenly become the coolest shit you've ever seen. And then there's the OST? This anime might unironically have the greatest ost of all time from a character theme perspective. I haven't checked the comments, but I'm sure one of the top comments is gonna bring up Tsuna Awakens. Listen to it. It's too good to be drowned out by modern anime fans hyping up whatever released last week. I love this anime with all my heart. It isn't a finished story since it caught up to the manga and never got picked back up, but it feels like a finished story thanks to how LONG the last arc is. You're probably not gonna ever get around to it due to its length, but I highly recommend it regardless.
Oh my god, I was not expecting this but it absolutely made my day! It is on the older side and deffinitely could use an reboot but I am praying it will happen one day. It has such an unique power system and nice characters ^^ It is quite underrated and sadly aged badly and has a very slow start (because before becoming more of a shounen it was a gag comedy ^^). But I still love this series to this day ^^ Edit: Yes it is quite fun series to watch ^^ It would be amazing if you decide to check it out ^^ I would 100% tune in for a watchalong of this series ^^
As other people have pointed out it was originally a comedy anime but the author pivoted to action and is really good it was in the top 5 with Naruto bleach one piece and fairly tail back in the day, but it feels like a wrap up at the end of the anime if that makes sense its 205 episodes
Katekyo Hitman Reborn is one of my favorite anime and I really like and appreciate it when another one also likes it. I really enjoyed your video and reaction especially when you are trying to understand what’s happening. Thank you for bringing back this vintage anime
Reborn started in 2006 and ran till 2010. To answer your question about why alot of these anime have high school kids is cus you are watching Shonen Anime . Anime marketed towards that demographic. Males 12-18 year old range. (Middle school, Junior high and high school) I loved the show. Use to be my favorite anime n manga. You should watch, but be aware it is a bit wordy. I often got complaints that things dont start getting good till episode 25 (its all good 😒) back in the day.
I was a huge Reborn fan in the day. Still have all of my Replica Vongola Rings, so I am glsd to see this reaction. Reborn is not an Isekai and it is so crazy that you can't really get what this is by openings alone. It is also a fascinating series that was more of a comedy manga with sprinkles of traditional shounen elements that became a full blown action series and even developed a good power system. Sadly the anime is a victim of the studio that censored the anime and the animation is very stiff. This anime deserved so much more than the studio it got. As for Isekai's I can say you only scratched the tip of Isekai and arguably saw really good ones, but you don't even know how deep the trash Isekai rabbit hole goes.

Problem? Tsuna is a dumb, lazy, coward kid (not his fault, really, he is bullied by everyone and his self steem is non existent)
The first part of the series is just dumb comedy.
[healers], Green-thunder/durability, Indigo-mist/creativity [illusions], Purple-cloud/propagation [the second rarest], Orange-sky/harmony [rarest, the leaders])
The rings are the medium to use that flames.
The animals... a power up in the last arc of the anime where they gave their flames a body to help them fight the bad guys.
The anime is completed but not all the manga. There are 2 arcs more, but the ending itself is more or less the same. Tsuna rejecting being a mafia boss but now surrounded by friends
I am glad you did this one , Hitman reborn is one of the most underrated animes also definitely not an Isekai, its more a Shounen the first 5 ep do feel out of place and meh but after you get to the shounen stuff its pretty awesome. hopefully you are able to enjoy it yourself sometime
shakugan no shana op reaction
Hitman Reborn is the one of the series that aged. It was amazing series and if they are going to make a remake definitely going to watch it.
The manga's ending pissed me off
@@kipp3384yo pls tell me some is the manga ending trash?
@@denji7405 Yeah hitman's ending is trash
@@kipp3384 They kept it going for to long. Should have ended it with the Future Arc. After that one it just went downhill all the way. And yes, the ending pissed me off as well. I was a big fan of the series and it felt like a punch in the face.
@denji7405 the ending is hot garbage
One thing to keep in mind for anyone who's interested in watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn. The first like 20 episodes are basically a gag comedy anime. The author was originally intending the entire series to be like that. While you might also enjoy that anyways there are lots of people who weren't really interested in that. Afterwards the author thought this could be a great shonen action, and changed the tone of the story completely and made it really epic so it kicks it into a way higher gear and becomes a lot better.
KHR can be divided before Mukuro and after Mukuro 🤣
Honestly the comedy in KHR from episode 1-20 is pretty damn good too. They got a really good handle on the ratio of the straight man and boke
@@yozarian86 I actually have the manga and I didnt buy those first volumes. The story goes after Mukuro comes 🤣
Hitman Reborn is a series that definitely needs a Reboot! It was a blast to watch/read, and with new animation it could pop off!
The power system they use was so interesting! I remember wanting to have the different Dying Will Flame powers all the time!
YES I love how creative their power system is, yet still consistent as they added different elements.
Yeah I love the power system, and it's fun trying to decide which Flame characters from other stories would have. (Also I have six siblings, you bet I divided the Flames between us and even drew us that way :D )
i just want the last two damn arcs to be animated... 😭
IF bleach can get a sequel too finish up the manga well over 10 years later surely Reborn has a chance.
@@Potkanka I remember being torn between wanting Sun, Rain, Mist, and Cloud Flames.
It didn't just switch, Amano really made good use of the daily life arc for the tone switch which is why I don't recommend skipping it entirely, it's just too long and the jokes are a bit mid.
same with tsugumomo lol, at first it was a ecchi comedy but later on turn into insane story writing and fight that rival even naruto
@@ellusiv5121facts
Those "little dudes" are by far the weirdest and most interesting plot element of this anime. I love them so much and their ost (they are called Arcobalenos I think) is incredible.
shhh spoilers! lol
Only bad thing is the anime never fully explains them. It shows a lot, but you have to read the manga to get their story-line completed.
Oh yeah? I'd be happy to check that out 💯
@@karebear3152 I don't think the name of their little 'group' is much of a spoiler, especially because they didn't go into any details ABOUT the Arcobaleno (which would contain MASSIVE spoilers).
Also arcobaleno=rainbow in italian... not that is tells us much about the meaning without the right context...
I love how you called Varia "definitely good, just misunderstood guys" ahah it was good. My favorite opening btw
I was all... DAMn i know he is just joking... but he has no idea...
I was like: "I mean he is not wrong."

Never would I thought this would even happen. Khr is truly underrated, really hoping for a remake or s2
that gonna be in my wish list before i died
We need the same miracle that happened to Bleach. We need those last 2 arcs animated.
hell yeah i need my boy Simon animated@@az639
The anime is amazing no need for a remake. If they would just do it like they did with Bleach it would be so hype
It would become a hit one more time like it was back then
to be fair, the author has been on record stating that the anime-original arcs are canon to the whole lore of KHR
I actually didn't like the final arc. I felt that the author wanted to end the story quickly.
@@milaphantom1153 iirc she was forced to end it there hence the rather abrupt ending. At least in the manga.
Sigh
The anime is extremely faithful minus stuff from the gag segments.
Also
No one bring up gokuderas smoking, christ, the author dropped him smoking herself afterawhile. It's not the important missing details People make it out to be
@@PrincessNine the author did not end the manga at the future arc like the anime did.
To answer some things:
-Mafia.
-The name of the small dude with the hat and chameleon is Reborn, hence the name Katekyo Hitman Reborn since he is basically the teacher of the mc (Katekyo somewhat means teacher)
-The small dudes are actual babies/toddlers
-Yes there are basically pokemons, but they're handled in a different but good way imo
-Around 200 episodes, and from opening 4 onwards, some time travel shenanigans happens which explains why you thought "their dads" suddenly appeared
-The anime only covered four arcs of the manga, namely: Daily Life Arc, Kokuyo Gang Arc, Varia Arc and finally the Future Arc.
Ah thank you!!!
Katekyo is the short for katekyoushi.
Kate is the home, kyoushi is the teacher, tutor (kyoushitsu is a classroom)
Home tutor hitman reborn
Bro spoilers. Tell him just enough that he goes to watch it and find out himself.
the funny thing is Tsuna looks nothing like his dad😂
@@Yogy19I never knew that and always wondered about it. Really hope it gets a remake.

@@GOTGamesjust in case you haven’t this reply hopefully reminds you.
"So the MC is just Mr. Badass, right?" Loved this!
Even though I can't deny it but that's definitely not how I would describe him first.
FINALLY.... this is an awesome show even if it is not the best ever... but it went way under the radar because it started as a comedy but the author ended up turning it into a proper shounen battle manga a bit later on! so a lot of people dropped it before that happened...
@@FanisyFreak
I agree.
SHH! Spoilers! lol @az693 @@Saito57G
KHR honestly has no bad openings lol all of them are bangers
I miss this anime so much. Wished they would continue for another arc.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn, one of my favorite anime during my college days. It's definitely awesome.
Missing the Vongola Family. I still remembered how am I always waiting for Primo to showed 😂😂😂 I love that guy

*Now THIS is one of the ones I think of when I think "anime from my childhood"!*
I watched it way back in school. Katekyo Hitman Reborn and D. Gray Man were my favorite battle shounen back then 😁
And Reborn is a pretty light one at that.
D gray man is top tier
Yo, KHR! I loved this series - it brings back so many memories. The OST is a banger. Also, an interesting thing about KHR was that it not only had albums of character songs that were done in character by the VAs, but they also held concerts called Rebocon where they'd perform and talk about the show/act in character.
On my knees in gratitude for reacting to KHR. Gosh wish the show rebooted with the final arcs of the manga animated ;-;
Oh also the endings are fantastic too! There's 16 of them and the last one still hits me in the feels (though that's because I know the context I guess... they knew what they were doing when they made that change for the last episode!😭)
Can check them out as well 💯
@@GOTGames Aw yeah that would be awesome!
They are sooooo goood, i love both the op and the eds they are incredible >
@@Dskcardcaptors20 Right???
Wow hitman reborn, this is 1 of those rare series that pretty much switched genres during its run
The creator started the series as a gag manga about the protagonist tsunayoshi aka tsuna getting a home tutor because of how badly he does in school only for it to turn out that the home tutor to impossibly be a toddler named Reborn that is a hitman with a gun-transforming lizard pet and has his own agenda to turn/train tsuna into the next mafia boss of the vongola family all the way in Italy because he’s their last living distant descendent of their first generation boss
The overall tone was comedic and stupid with an equally ridiculous plot but as the series got more popular the artist wrote the series into a different genre turning it into battle-action oriented by introducing secrets and plot elements that explained away the ridiculousness such as reborn being an adult who was cursed into a baby and other supernatural elements
One of the best thing about this series is how unique its combat/magic system is, instead of some psychic, magic or unique ability like most series do in hitman reborn everyone’s life force has a unique wavelength that can be emitted through tools as dying will flame because it’s appearance resemble flames, the wavelength is then categorized under 7 different element called the flames of the sky including sky itself in; sky, storm, rain, cloud, lighting, sun and mist which all have different properties that alter reality in their own certain way
combat involves people imputing objects such as tools and weapons with these flames achieving different results giving each and everyone a different fighting style such as lighting flames has a reinforcing/hardening property so when imbued into a sharp objects will increase its structural integrity making it impossibly sharp and strong or even more study for defense, sun flames has an accelerating activity property where imputing it in people will increase their natural healing, body functions and physique but in thing like plants will cause it to grow out of control, rain has tranquility property which tranquilizes things slowing them down to near stillness so can be used to make water molecules still enough to create ice or simply fire a dense mass of it at an opponent to kill them by ceasing their body functions, storm is disintegration to weaken and weathering away at whatever it burns etc
Then later in the series there is the 7 flames of the earth including earth flames as a counterpart to the 7 flames of the sky and even special flames that is a combination of 2 flames such as wrath flames being a mix of sky and storm flames or oath flames being a mix of sky and earth flames but overall the main flame elements and their characteristic are
Sky Flame, characteristic: Harmony.
Storm Flame, characteristic: Disintegration
Rain Flame, characteristic: Tranquility
Sun Flame, characteristic: Activation
Lightning Flame, characteristic: Hardening
Mist Flame, characteristic: Construction
Cloud Flame, characteristic: Propagation
To answer the question about the amount of openings and seasons. KHR is a relatively long-runnning series at about 200 episodes with quite a few arcs.
16:50
"It's been nice to actually react to some anime openings, where I'm gay-"
OH MY GOD! Thank you so much for reacting to this! I highly recommend the OST "Tsuna Awakens" from this anime, it's one of the best OSTs in history.
💯🔥
Nostalgia hit me hard on this one 😢
You could say it's finished, but the manga has an additional saga, and maybe the anime end it's a false end, that's more common than you might think, Toriko, Zatch bell are a good example.
There are also anime which started with the manga but after some time they changed the whole plot like the 1st full metal alchemist or 1st shaman king.
You don’t know how excited I was seeing this video on your channel. One of my favorite animes and definitely one of the most underrated ❤❤
there are two story arcs that never got adapted but the series did have a rushed finish due to a pending cancelation. i remember there was rumors about what the actual final arc was going to be something about a tower and confronting the true big bad. but sadly nothing came of it and the author went on to write a couple new series, one about a detective and another about space police. and she also did the character designs for psycho pass
Katekyo started as comedy but then the author slowly changed into action with comedy rather then comedy with a bit of action and the transition was so well done like it was planned but it wasn't
OMG!!!!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the vid!!
Reborn! Let's goooo!!!
Finally, my absolute favorite anime and have been recommending these openings since last year. Such an underrated and great show!
OMG YOU ACTUALLY RECONSIDERED MY RECOMMENDATION AAAAAH THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! This is one of my fave animeeeee huhuhuuuuu imma cry
Damn, I WANT THE LAST TWO SEASONS ANIMATEEEEED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Good news, its already in the works. No clue whether a reboot or an continuation tho

Hitman Reborn arcs in order:
-Daily Life Arc
-Varia Arc
-Future Arc
- Arcobaleno Trials Arc (anime only)
-Choice Arc
-Inheritance Succession Arc / Vongola Primo Famiglia Arc
-Future Final Battle Arc (This is where the anime ends)
-Inheritance Ceremony Arc/Shimon family arc (manga)
-Curse of the Rainbow Arc (manga)
Also the endings are really good as well so you should definitely check those out too.
That's so nostalgic and unexpected, this was only my 3rd anime and such a joyful series.
Finding a video about or ralating to hitman reborn is really rare, so it's refreshing to see your reaction!
Also seeing just how confused you look trying to peace together what it's about was hilarious lol
Damn such a nostalgia feel listening to the 1st opening in over a decade
Yesssssssss Finally I've been recommended this a long ago Now we have this reaction Arigatou gozaimas❤
A forgotten masterpiece. Reborn is so good man.
Thanks for checking out!
i MISSED this anime so damn much and i just finished it a while ago. hearing these openings again almost brings a tear
Boys and Girls OP in the Varia Arc will always hit differently!
I remember being one of the people in the comments asking for it last year 😭
If you do decide to watch it, bare in mind that the first 20 episodes are mainly slice of life comedy while the rest is where the true action lies.
The anime aired in 2006 and ended 2010. More than 13 years ago~ The anime has ended along with the manga.
i cant believe you did hitman reborn.. you the goat
LETS GOOOOOO I recommended this so long ago
Feels so nostalgic
It's been a VERY while and still those last 2 openings are *FIRE!*
🔥
This really hits me with so much nostalgia!! I remember that the "Boys & Girls" opening is my most favorite opening of the show and seeing the visuals again especially with baby Lambo running and transitioning to adult Lambo hyped me up so much as a kid. Thanks for reacting to this.
I really hope they continue animating this series.
A remake which brings old and new fans to the fold while sticking to the source material from beginning to end.
But I still love this series to this day ^^
Edit: Yes it is quite fun series to watch ^^ It would be amazing if you decide to check it out ^^ I would 100% tune in for a watchalong of this series ^^
omg!!!
Thank u so much for reacting to KHR
As other people have pointed out it was originally a comedy anime but the author pivoted to action and is really good it was in the top 5 with Naruto bleach one piece and fairly tail back in the day, but it feels like a wrap up at the end of the anime if that makes sense its 205 episodes
Katekyo Hitman Reborn is one of my favorite anime and I really like and appreciate it when another one also likes it. I really enjoyed your video and reaction especially when you are trying to understand what’s happening. Thank you for bringing back this vintage anime
I love this anime, the beginning is slow, but as it progresses, it gets better and better.
Reborn started in 2006 and ran till 2010.
To answer your question about why alot of these anime have high school kids is cus you are watching Shonen Anime . Anime marketed towards that demographic. Males 12-18 year old range. (Middle school, Junior high and high school)
I loved the show.
