Tennis, Basketball, bowls, putting (2 courses) croquet. All absolutely free. No booking needed. As you come in the gate, the green on the left is even used by frisbee teams. Always good to see you in oor dear green place Eddy. Next time you're up, I'll teach you how to beat me at croquet. Believe me, that's easy!
A great advertisement for Victoria Park especially in the sunshine which makes everything look clean and tidy. Good you were able to find the famous bench all on your own. Did you give out your channel name to the people at the famous bench? It would be good if they could see themselves in an increasingly famous channel.
I live right next to Victoria Park, and I spend a lot of time there. The park has a few amazing areas, including Fossil Grove. When the park was being built over 100yrs ago, they discovered the fossilised remains of trees from an ancient forest. They built a small structure around them that you can visit, it's only opened one day a month on the 3rd Saturday of each month. The area around the structure is stunning, too, it's located at the opposite side of the park from where the bench is. The tennis and basketball courts are basically free to use, you pay a few £ deposit to get access and the equipment you need, when you're done and return the equipment you get your money back. The park also frequently has special events on especially in the summer months, for example they had a circus there for a few months, they regularly have an 'inflatable city' (loads of bouncy castles) occasionally they do water sports on the pond and they've even had an awesome and very popular drive in movie theatre there a few times, for a few months each year over the past 5 years!
I must have just missed you, in that park every afternoon with my dog. I see the big man running topless all the time and every time i do it makes me think I need to get to the gym 🤣 And I've been sitting on that bench for about 20 years. It's always been a battle to get it on a good day!
Eddy m you need to go to the Southside , the sop of Queens Park has a beautiful view across Glasgow able to pin point Hampden, Ibrox and Celtic Park from the top of the hill.
victoria park is lovely as are most of the parks in Glasgow , but I really enjoy queens park as the view of the city from the hill is amazing and linn park, you also get some amazing views of the city to the south from the necropolis near the cathedral, the reason those houses arent painted I believe is due to the wrong paint can actually damage the sand stone as it doesnt allow it to breath and moisture can get trapped in the sandstone.
Have you stopped doing the Still Game reactions? I don't remember you doing the Hot Seat episode yet, unless you have a bunch of them filmed already or something. Alas, great video this yin, many memories in this park growing up despite being from Clydebank (wee bit far for a wee wean).
Sorry to say its not the original bench they removed the bench to replace it with the one in the video im so glad i got to sit on the original bench before it was removed

Ah! You didn't find the ham shanking bench! The fossil grove is fantastic. Fossilised remains of an ancient forest.
