My late father did this when he left the Army. He was in the REME and could drive and ride ANYTHING and fix almost anything but he was unemployed! A travelling fair asked what he could do amongst it was dispatch riding! So they gave him a job on the WALL! He used to ride INDIAN motorcycles! Used to have some very old photos of him on the wall! We lost dad to the virus in June 2020, but we know somewhere he is now a ‘Ghost Rider’👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🇬🇧 miss ya dad love ya!
I have a friend, Ed Beitz, who is a WWII vet, both Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge (still alive) who did this for decades after the war. He would ride those old Indians as Johnny Thunder. Ride, Ed, ride!
As a kid, this was my #3 thing "I wanted To Do " when I grew up. #1 - the motorcycles inside the sphere, #2 - the double ring ferris wheel thing, #3 - THIS.
This brings back memories of the late 50's and watching the late Speedy McNish on the Wall of Death. They came to our county fair every year with Prell's Broadway Shows, which later became Amusements of America. If I remember correctly, he and another rider would switch bikes while up on the wall. It was great entertainment.
Yeah, it's a shame there aren't more videos of that stuff but I remember it pretty clearly. They would be side by side, and each would stand up on the seat. Then they would each put one foot on the other bike, then the other foot. That's how they did the switch.
headphone users??, what about the riders not wearing earplugs?!!, they will be deaf in one week. ( I went to a similar show years ago and its loud as hell)
Many moons ago during the Great Western Vintage show in Dorset I rode on the handle bars of the Indian motor bike they had on that wall, do they still do that?
If friction acting on them is limiting friction (max), then the velocity with which they should ride to prevent falling is v>=√gr/mu (Sorry just learnt this in my physics class and I tested myself) Thanks for this video, helped me understand clearly!!
That's if you guys don't object, I been around the world and only seen this once, it left an impression on me and my boys age 12, 7, almost 5 and mum all will give it some will keep you posted, any help in design will be appreciated
yeah done that, mainly in Streatham London in early 60,s the " Frenchman " taught me, first thing he said was " its the same as a rotor , only your the motor ", cant go wrong once your up the " ramp " just hold a line, you dont need speed, just looks that way as your going round,...the rotor effect takes over, at end you throttle off & gentley come down, same as rotor, that slows the gravity slows down,," voila "...rotor was a Victorian show ride,...
They seem to like the Honda CBs for Wall Of Death? Charlie Coles Fun Fair used to have an old 40/50's Indian M/C too. Is this the same family that used to tour with Coles & Roses Fairs?
+Largactyl Kid Well, there is a reason for that. Fox Troupe does have very well maintained Indians. The Indians lend themselves well for certain rides as does the newer motorcycles. Indians have to be maintained, and parts can be a tad difficult to get a hold of. So, one has to treat them very kindly. The newer bikes can give the Old Indians a bit of a break during a show.
+Terry Ashton Well the CB's aren't exactly 'new' are they?lolDo you know if this is the same family that used to do the fun fair tours? I used to love just looking at the Indians. Beautiful old bikes up there with the Vincent's & big BSA's, even if they are from USA!
2:38 I know exactly how to do that but I only can do it on ground the key to this trick it to stay calm and be focused I recommend practicing it with a electric motorcycle in an open field and bring a helmet, gloves, sweatshirt and sweatpants start of with both hands on the handles and then try 1 hand off it and then try 2 hands off the handles.
muh dad waz the first one to dat ,in fact when yall come to the heretige festville my name was still carved in it ,whoever was enfactuated with it an bout it ,muh dad passed away a ferw years back from cancer .an his ole racin number was ace of spades lucky number thirteen ,an i used to flat gtrack on a limestone track an when youn ot dat steeel shoe on da ground itb looked like the ole song ,the master of sparks ,an i was juistb wonderin where yall got that ole ride ,muh dad would get rite up to the wire an snatch monedy an muh mom werked the concession stands , an when i raced flat track i waz only about 12 aqn they had to hold me an catche me when i would slow down it was the first bultaco 3360 ever made where the oil ran through the body to keep it cool ,i'm just curious w2here yall got the wall of death from ikz allz

I always thought that GTA V physics were a joke because of how slow you could be to drive on a wall like this.
I am glad to discover that I was wrong
