- I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July! Now back to announcements with new titles coming for Severin's upcoming sale. Vinegar Syndrome has two more releases for their sub labels. Kino has two more 4K titles. Plus, do we have a lost cut of Return Of The Living Dead III?

I don’t understand the logic of releasing a “first cut” of a film. The stuff cut should be an extra. Every movie has a first cut. Unless they can explain how the first cut was actually superior to the final cut, it doesn’t make sense.
From a technical standpoint I do like the idea of seeing it to see what they decided to cut or edit out or edit differently. I've edited some things that pretty much stayed more or less the same with just some trims. But I've also edited things that completely changed from the first cut. Interested in that regard. But overall I agree. I can't imagine it's a drastically different film. More than likely just scenes that ran too long or extra scenes that slowed down the film too much if I had to guess.
Hey Richard, great video as always! I had to grab the Hatchet set from Dark Sky, I panicked when they said they won't be doing anymore 4k releases, so its on the way. Ninja Terminator and a few more, but as you did such a fantastic job mentioning, so many more announced. I picked up a few from VS, but held off on a lot. Can NOT wait for the Hitcher 4k! Gotta also find a way to go in on Hell House Umbrella!
Thank you a ton! You got some great ones! I didn't know Dark Sky wasn't going to do anymore 4K releases. That really stinks. You just reminded me I need to watch Ninja Terminator. I got it in last week and still need to get to it. That one should be fun! I am with you on The Hitcher. So happy we are so close to getting all of the details. Then just need to get my pre-order in. I feel like it has been forever. Well, I guess it has. lol
I really hope there is a release of the ROTLD III first cut somewhere, even if it's just on UA-cam or something. I don't think they would have posted that they found this tape if they weren't going to do something with it, whatever that something is.
Hi Richard, thanks for the news coverage today! I think I'm going to focus on a few 4k titles that are already out with Severin. Might also grab the Haunts boxset as I've been wanting that for a while now. The rumored VSA being unveiled tomorrow looks to be a fun one. I might have to grab that as well. Hope you are doing well, and were able to get something to eat :)

And yes, I did get a bite to eat luckily. lol I only eat once a day on average and I was getting close to when I was going to start making dinner and my stomach was more than ready for it. lol I am so excited to get that 4K of Opera next weekend during Severin's sale. Right now I would say it's my number one. I'm a little worried on what it might cost so I am being cautious with other purchases.
I can see the first cut of Return of the Living Dead 3 being on a bonus disc to a possible 4K UHD release but it's all really up to Lionsgate if they want to do it. Maybe a steelbook rerelease since they released a couple of movies from the Vestron line on steelbook.
I got tired of waiting for a Blu-ray of The Hitcher so I bought the Umbrella version.
I've heard it's a nice release.

Same for me! Can't wait to see what the details are but at this point it'll be icing on the cake as I really want the film in 4K.
Is Deep Cut from Argento any good?
It's a compilation of some of the stories done for his TV show from the 70's. Almost like an Alfred Hitchcock Presents type of thing. I haven't seen them but I hope they're good.
Those Dario Argento's tv movies were once released on VHS but I don't remember the label. That ROTLD III longer cut sounds interesting but it could just be exposition footage and not gore which would make a gorehound like me very disappointed. Anyway thanks for the heads up Richard!👉🙂👈
That is a great point on the extra minutes for ROTLD III. It might just be longer scenes that needed to be trimmed down for pacing. Interested to know more but I'm mainly excited for the overall possibility that there are still films in various forms still out there. I love that!

The italian ”gladiator” movie could be a hit or miss but will check it out.
This is a fun film year so far. Wallets shiver in fear. Shelves complain about over working but otherwise just great!

Cheers Alfonso! And you are not kidding. I am doing some rearranging and having to probably thin down the collection to make room for new releases. I can't keep up! Haha I agree with you on the Italian gladiator film. Those can be hit or miss for sure. I'm hoping for more hit in this one. I need to double check any alternate titles for it to see if I've seen this one before.

Have you never seen Renegade by Jan Kounen? Also, how does someone like us, get a movie like that, recommend to a studio for a 4K upgrade?
I have not seen it but I just looked it up. Looks like there was a Blu-ray release back in March. I'll try and check it out. As far as trying to get it released in 4K it basically is about finding out who has the license for it and then contacting them, even if it's just on one of their social media pages, to hopefully put it out in 4K. If companies see a demand they will try and do it.
