I caught these guys in 1994 at piers in Fort Wayne Indiana...they just were freaking amazing...I sat just stage right and had to hold on to my beer because if I sat it on the table in front of me the vibration from Woody's bass would make it vibrate right off the table...I true night to remember for sure....🎸🎸🎸
Gov't Mule is nearly unknown in France . Never heard of this fabulous band since the day I bought my Epiphone Rumblekat Allen Woody signature Bass. I've listened to the band on UA-cam and have imported LPs from the States . really love that band.
The license plate on my Silverado is GOV MULE for the past 15 years. I saw the boys for the first time at Stephen's Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY on August 12, 1997.....Die hard fan from that day on. They changed my life!!!!! We were front row...my ears are still ringing ;)
One of the greatest Blues Rock/Southern Rock albums ever recorded... Warren Haynes is North Carolina's best Rock guitarist ever, and the exceptional Allen Woody is truly missed... RIP Woody...
I remember when this c.d. dropped. I was living in Tuscaloosa, half ass going to class. I remember saying "this is a new shine on an old style of southern rock." Been a Mule fan ever since.
Old Skool mule!!! Ahhhh nothing like it!! Woody's bass is on fire!! Used to love seeing this original lineup live!! Still a great band!! Miss allen woody tho!!!
Don Andrews If you feel this way about the Mule, you should try my band with its SUPER Elite Secret Society of about 4 fans HaHa "The Rainbow Mandrills" we just released the 2nd album & on it is Warren's Saxophone friend Joe McGlohon ;-) the whole album is dedicated to Mules Guitar Tech Brian Farmer & I did give Warren the CD 2 weeks ago in London ;-) Try "The Rainbow Mandrills" on UA-cam or Facebook & join us in a Super secret Society ;-) Best Wishes Pete

Don Andrews i like this band because they draw from a many of the greats that came before them. one second you think you're listening to lynyrd skynrd then bang hendrix, mountain or frank zappa. the allman's tradition of jamming it up. saw them in jackson, mississippi april 14/2015 while touring LA, MS, TN, SC last april. bobby rush guested on harp on a couple of tunes
Don Andrews asked my dad for a t shirt today and he gave me a Gov't Mule one, My dad does Allman brothers tribute gigs and told me there was a member of the band in this group, anyway they're awesome, sounds like Soundgarden were influenced a big by this band just hearing the first two songs
Até hj lembro qdo comprei esse álbum logo q saiu. Viajei mto o ouvindo, foi um tempo mágico e um álbum sensacional q considero um clássico dos anos 90!
I saw them on their first tour. Met Warren on 2nd tour. The last time I saw Allen with Warren and Matt was in Allentown. 2 nights later .. Allen passed peacefully in his sleep, in NY. Had an up close, over the shoulder bird's eye view of Warren and Allen playing . R.I.P Douglas A. Woody, missed, never forgotten
Hell yeah. When I first heard this I was like, "Thank you God!". In 1995 I was starved for new guitar oriented bands and music....and along came Warren Haynes with his badass power-trio. Hallelujah!
such a bad ass CD, xrist these guys play so well, so greasy and ballsy...I love the Mule...Warren Haynes may be rock and roll's single most lethal 5 tool star=composer, singer, player, producer, arranger
+John Shireman went to see warren a couple months ago at the tower. Got a personalized pick from him it was awesome. Cant wait to see the mule there in january!
Knew Woody before the ABB. At one time he was giving bass lessons in Nashville. One night we ran into each other outside a club. Got to share a doobie with him. 1976ish. Cool dude. RIP Woody.
Yeah the secret society 4 sure. lol Ii bought this album because a the cover art, loved the music. One thing led 2 another n another, every show ive been, very cool. that random buy has gotten me to 5 shows, of Govt. Mule, Along with the rest of my southern rock bands, Allman brothers, dickey betts, Ive been schooled, by the legends of rock. And so very very pleased that back in the year of 2000 I discovered The Mule and much more.
Met Warren backstage at an Allman Bros concert in '94 (got the picture to prove it!). He told me to check out his new band's album "due out soon." I've been a fan ever since, and this album is EASILY in my top 5 all-time favorites.
That's some accolade right there. The Robin Trower Band is probably the nearest you will get to the sound of Govt Mule. And they're British I'm glad to say! 👍
It's the same here my neighbor's are beginning to like Warren's music. I hear a lot of Robin Trower influence on his music. Saw Robin Trower in San Diego, Ca. 1976 or 77. He debut his monster PA system and it was awesome.
Dennis, Saw Robin Trower 9 times. 1st, he was touring the "Twice Removed From Yesterday", album. Not enough words can express/explain the show. Reg Isadore on the skins. Saw Government Mule touring this album. Stunning!! I'm still in shock!!
I've seen Gov't Mule five times, though never with Allen Woody. I met Allen one time though, at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville when he worked there in the 1980's. I bought three basses from him and sold him two. That would have been 35 years ago now.
There are few that can handle the power of the mule. But those that get to the other side are worthy. It’s not easy by any stretch of the imagination. The ones that can’t take it will be left behind. If you can’t handle the mule well then the mule will handle you. Make a decision and best of luck.
When this came out I listened to it once and shelved it for a year as it just didn’t resonate with me. I picked it back up again and it spoke to me. I started traveling to see shows and I was hooked. The death of Woody and addition of Danny changed it all for me though. It just wasn’t the same and although I did see a few shows with the 4 man piece I just waited for them to come to my town and eventually just stopped altogether 😢
This is more than nostalgia. I was crushed when I got the call Woody had died. A friend and I had been seeing shows for a number of years by then. We are all players. Mostly six string guys. We all considered Woody the glue and groove of the band. I love Warren and Mule shows are awesome. But the chemistry could never be the same. The tone and locked in groove of what they did as the original three piece was one of Rock's great power trios. Fuck Smack!
How many of you all realize Warren Haynes played next to Dicky Betts in the Allman Bros. for quite awhile? Some of the best stuff the ABB ever put out!!
holy shit this album is so fucking nice can't stand why people dont know of this stuff man government mule gave me the best feeling while playing a guitar..i'm addicted on cocaine but their song always i mean ALWAYS get me to just smoke a weed and be fine all night long ty gov't you are fucking awesome ♥♥♥
These guy's are Badass ! i have seen them 3 times ! Warren Haynes played with Allman Bros Band ! His Nephew is Derick Trucks ! He played with Allman Bros Band also ! We ALL know who The Teduski Trucks Band is !! Need I say more ?
When I listen to Mule...so do my neighbors
Lame.
Russ Tetreault that’s right..
...So do my pets, and they think Godzilla is stomping on skyscrapers nearby
Mine are listening right now
I doubt if they deserve such a gift
I know mine don't
I caught these guys in 1994 at piers in Fort Wayne Indiana...they just were freaking amazing...I sat just stage right and had to hold on to my beer because if I sat it on the table in front of me the vibration from Woody's bass would make it vibrate right off the table...I true night to remember for sure....🎸🎸🎸
My uncle brought me to that same show.. I was like wtf is this? unreal power..Been a fan since
Saw them first time in ‘95, and dozens more until ‘00. Only a few since then. Nothing will ever compete with the original power trio
Да. Состав с Allen Woody лучший. Это уже классика.
Gov't Mule and a fat bowl of chronic. Truly splendid.
Doin it right now... gonna get so high , that I just don't know my name..
YES 🌿✌️🌿✌️🌿🌿✌️✌️
Current situation🤙🏽
As soon as it hits 4:20 I’m in
Gov't Mule is nearly unknown in France . Never heard of this fabulous band since the day I bought my Epiphone Rumblekat Allen Woody signature Bass. I've listened to the band on UA-cam and have imported LPs from the States . really love that band.
+790bonnie Well, according to their website they'll be there in mid-May. So you can see them in person then.
The license plate on my Silverado is GOV MULE for the past 15 years. I saw the boys for the first time at Stephen's Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY on August 12, 1997.....Die hard fan from that day on. They changed my life!!!!!

Warren can bend a note like no other. His sound is signature. The mule rocks.
One of the greatest Blues Rock/Southern Rock albums ever recorded... Warren Haynes is North Carolina's best Rock guitarist ever, and the exceptional Allen Woody is truly missed... RIP Woody...

Точно. Новый взгляд на старое.
Old Skool mule!!! Ahhhh nothing like it!! Woody's bass is on fire!! Used to love seeing this original lineup live!! Still a great band!! Miss allen woody tho!!!
This album is Fuckin' Strong....ROCK ON
My dad showed me this.... May Gov't Mule be immortalized in my family forever
I'm just hearing them for the first time! Incredible!
How could 30 people not like this? I guess people don't know real music when they hear it. Love these guys
When you want some music for your ass! This is your place to be.
Hey...perhaps theyre groovin on Bobby Sherman or David Casididy. Its all good , t
Maybe their ears are full of wax.
No arguing taste...unless they have none...lol
Dont you love knowing bands like this exist? Its like being in a secret society. Old boy
Yessss!!! Those of us who are turned on to the likes if this and the other bands in this circle are truely enlightend rogues!!!!!

***you think you're listening to lynyrd skynrd then bang hendrix, mountain or frank zappa***
Then what does Govt. Mule sound like?
Just an absolutely incredible album. Caint get enough of it after all these years. Fkn awesome!!!!!!!
Até hj lembro qdo comprei esse álbum logo q saiu. Viajei mto o ouvindo, foi um tempo mágico e um álbum sensacional q considero um clássico dos anos 90!
The soul just oozes from this band, great stuff
One of my favorite albums of all time. From anyone... period. It's like Zep/Sab and Skynyrd had a love child dipped in Billy Gibbons sweat.
Old School Mule fan. Have seen them 9 times!!! Once just is not enough. BAM
Over 100 here, mostly pre 2000 as a young mule pup lol
John Doe heck yeah!! veterans here.
Vivian Brandenburg only 15 y/o seen them for 10 ish years, know the guys & seen them like 12 times.
seeing them tomorrow night for the 5th time over 15 years!
I've never seen them
I had no idea it was possible to be that good a bass player.
2 years of your life have gone by without Les Claypool
Primus has some new stuff out.
Haven't listened to it yet.
They suck anyway
My high school sweetheart's Dad showed me this band. Thanks Dave and Cody you guys showed me some great music!
Hell yeah.
When I first heard this I was like, "Thank you God!". In 1995 I was starved for new guitar oriented bands and music....and along came Warren Haynes with his badass power-trio. Hallelujah!
One southern fried savior of the real down home rock and roll
Playing in a three piece will make you fill the gap, pun intended
I've known about these guys for years, but never took the time to listen to them. My bad! They're great.
Wow, I think it's impossible for these guys to put out a bad album. They are easily now one of my favorite bands. I wish they'd come to Moscow(((.
The mule takes to a place I can enjoy and really listen to the music
such a bad ass CD, xrist these guys play so well, so greasy and ballsy...I love the Mule...Warren Haynes may be rock and roll's single most lethal 5 tool star=composer, singer, player, producer, arranger
Sean Hennessey Great band...
Sean Hennessey And possibly the hardest working band out there
Sean Hennessey it is practically his own ship after Woody's gone and Abbts deteriorate,
csidorf...what´s up with Abt´s "deterioration"?...is he sick?...
If you have never seen THE MULE Live...you should!!!! great show....we also got to meet Warren...nice man...and loves his fans
+John Shireman went to see warren a couple months ago at the tower. Got a personalized pick from him it was awesome. Cant wait to see the mule there in january!
John Shireman definatly he loves kids @ the shows, i would know im only 15 and im frequent concertgoer
That opening vocal. WOW. A True Friend is Hard to Find. When I listen to this band and Warren Haynes' vocals I feel like I just came home.
Mother Earth is my fucking jam!!! I've loved Gov't Mule since they first formed and nothing compares to seeing them LIVE. :)
Long Live Mule. My favorite 3 piece ever…even though they still rock as a 4 piece in 2023
...been smashing Son House lately, I forgot they opened the album w/ Grinnin'. Sweet. Notable considering they formed as a power trio.
Knew Woody before the ABB. At one time he was giving bass lessons in Nashville. One night we ran into each other outside a club. Got to share a doobie with him. 1976ish. Cool dude. RIP Woody.
I broke the volume knob off the radio, now it's stuck wide open - life is good!
Amazing album from start to finish
badass!!! absolutely filthy blues with a funky swing!!!yeah Warren!!!Black Sabbath with those half steps!!!
They will be in Shreveport, La 04/23/15 cant wait to see them live in the Municipal Auditorium
Yep! takes me back to when I was 17 rocking out to G mule non-stop with a pound of good weed ;) Too long since I listened to em! Glad I found this
When you want some music for your ass! This is your place to be.
How could you "dislike" this??? 34 people with no idea.
It's the 34 people that think Justin Bieber is music.
freshgoat - I got no idea bout that one!! Love warren Haynes, and love em all, especially the drummer!
You can hear the pain in his voice
A comeback of the blues rock genre! A masterpiece.
Love reading all the positive comments about the Mule! Hate negative posts, especially when it comes to bad ass music.... Ride that Rockin Horse
Taylor D "bad ass" Great Pun.
because people don't know shit
Some badass shit!!!
Thanks to my subscription to Sirius XM I was introduced to Gov't Mule. This is a sound that grabs me by the...ears and says "Hell, yeah!"
Finally! I've been waiting for this album to get uploaded.

Geez. What great musicians. Man, I really miss Allen's playing. Screw all the music that's on the airwaves these days. It sucks ass so, so bad.
Wow, these guys are great they turned Mr. Big into a badass song.
You've never heard the Free Live version then?
MrShockleader I have heard it but sounds almost like the studio version.

@@MrShockleader Yeah...no doubt Free ripped this shit up too! Blistering

Warren is a living legend
meilleur lp de l année 1995 !!! je l 'écoute encore .
Gov't Mule and a few shots of Old Crow bourbon... what else could I want?
one ass kicking album
Awesome! Never gave them a listen til now. Reminds me of Robin Trower and James Dewar.
That's some accolade right there. The Robin Trower Band is probably the nearest you will get to the sound of Govt Mule. And they're British I'm glad to say! 👍

WARREN YOU ARE THE BEST, COUSIN FIGEL
I absolutely love this band! Warren you rock!
Qué pedazo de album !! No lo conocía, pero es una banda impresionante 👍
I used to dig and fill graves and to tend graves in a cemetery for 6 years. This album was background music many a time.
6 feet down... mr. Big🤘🤯😆

Me too! We should get married right away.
There are few that can handle the power of the mule. But those that get to the other side are worthy. It’s not easy by any stretch of the imagination. The ones that can’t take it will be left behind. If you can’t handle the mule well then the mule will handle you. Make a decision and best of luck.
Amazing album. Lots of felling, power trio.
Holy Shit, man! What a fricken sweet band!
Flipping brilliant!!! I need to watch them live! Come to the UK soon!!!!!
Damn I've been on a Mule Kick for over 20 years. Shit, time flies! Hello fellow Muleheads!
I think we've found the perfect inauguration band.
Un blues para romper todo con un wisky.!! PD: escuchar a volumen alto.
When this came out I listened to it once and shelved it for a year as it just didn’t resonate with me. I picked it back up again and it spoke to me. I started traveling to see shows and I was hooked. Missing Woody...20 years today
This album is 🔥🔥🙌🔥🔥
I dig the album opener, it's a cover of the one and only, Mr. Son House.
This is more than nostalgia. I was crushed when I got the call Woody had died. A friend and I had been seeing shows for a number of years by then. We are all players. Mostly six string guys. The first and one of the best albums from the Mule.
Donkey from Shrek is awesome! Just kidding around, I love this stuff!
How many of you all realize Warren Haynes played next to Dicky Betts in the Allman Bros. for quite awhile? Some of the best stuff the ABB ever put out!!
I prefer Trucks and Haynes actually, the last album is one of their best imo.
all good i say
Not to mention his early stuff with David Allen coe
Johan Olofsson agreed, the last lineup of the ABB was the best since the original. Amazing Chemistry
And many times w derek.. good stuff
holy shit this album is so fucking nice can't stand why people dont know of this stuff man government mule gave me the best feeling while playing a guitar..i'm addicted on cocaine but their song always i mean ALWAYS get me to just smoke a weed and be fine all night long ty gov't you are fucking awesome ♥♥♥
