Make sure to drain the gas from it before storing it, and run it till the carb is empty of fuel. The alcohol used in many fuels will attract water and corrode the carburetor and cause the diaphragm in the carb to become stiff and stop working.
That first fire up of the Chainsaw reminded me of the first time I tried to crank my 5th scale not understanding how the safety kill worked. After about 45 minutes of yanking I broke the pull cord and turns out the kill switch was not functioning proper after fixing that issue it fired up on the third pull😁😁
That was so fun. I thought the review was over halfway through. Killer deal I store my chainsaws. And weedeater. With ethanol free. Gas. Mixed I just learned this a few years ago. Ethanol. Draws moisture over time.
The jean shorts were your problem for why it wouldn't start. Trust me, I'm not a chainsaw expert, but I have some nice saws, and a good bit of experience. Even that Chinese knockoff didn't want to be on video in that situation lol. You made a couple of fundamental mistakes (for instance, the notch on the first tree was way to deep, and you never want an angled back cut under any circumstances), but I appreciate your attitude and approach. You got it done. If you endeavor to cut more trees, I'd recommend the book "To fell a tree" by Jeff Jepson. Inside is everything I know about the subject. It's a great book, and was well worth the read for me. Good job!
Like most of all 2 cycle lawn equipment, you need to hold the throttle wide open with choke closed on cold starts. Once your hear it fire, then move choke to half and then full open, but always with throttle at full throttle while attempting to start it.
I have been logging for over 30 years and have never heard of this ! I will try it just for the halibut. Usually you start with full choke till it fires. (powersaws/ chainsaws) But some weedwackers have some strange starting procedures
You can make some nice wooden features for crawling with it like tree features easier to make wooden bridge or curve out tree for a tunnel. Just limitless ideas for it.
@Exocaged RC right and yes if you can treat it it will be like a old country cabin build for scale crawling. Just stating to be like making a bridge type could be used. Just ideas to use it ..
They make bar and chain oil.. and it works better than oil.. just a preference and experience.. I’m interested in seeing this saw work… I’m a Stihl guy myself.. but looks like it works so far! And always use ethanol free gas.. ours sits all spring summer till fall and winter.. we heat with wood! So the key to keeping them in good running order is the gas.. and keeping the chain sharp, and the oiler clean so it don’t heat the bar! Definitely impressed for the price
This was a very interesting, and entertaining video, and you are a very amicable dude! I am not usually a fan of the use of Fast FWD’g, but the part where you were trying to start it, was hilarious! Having said that, I was relieved to see you finally got it started, and your choice in doing so on the ground! I will often fire up a saw, with the ‘between the legs’ position, but NEVER drop starting it like you first did. That way has a natural tendency to ‘swing’ the saw around, and actually can lead to injuries of the lower body, should the saw fire up, while in motion! Yeah, I know, a lot of guys do it, but it doesn’t make it any safer. And drop starting a spring assist saw will damage it. Nice tractor, and that part of saying you were gonna fall it on your tractor, funny. But please use some basic PPE, because @ 10:34, you stumbled, and these are the many situations that lead to injuries. I’ve been a knucklehead myself, and taken chances in years past, but no more. Please promote safe sawing! Enjoyed your video, and big thumbs up otherwise. Thanks for considering my well intended comments. 👍✌😊
Thanks man. Yeah I shoulda been at least wearing shoes! I should do a follow up as it ran great a while back when I needed it again. For me a great $110 spent. I think that’s how much it was.
Reminds me of the time I was trying to start a brand new 20cc gas motor for an RC airplane. I could see through the clear fuel tube that it was not pulling any fuel to the cab. I took the carb apart and found the rubber diaphram (the rubber fuel pump thingy) in the carp was stuck. I gently pulled it loose, and reassembled. It started almost immediately. I wonder if that's what was wrong with yours.
Get some Tru Fuel ethanol free fuel for storing it since you don't know how long until the next time you need it. The Tru Fuel will last over 1 year and prevent the tiny ports and jets from gunking up. Just drain the fuel you have in it put in some Tru fuel and run it a bit till you smell it then put it away. And I guarantee it will start when you need it next time

If the rest of the saw breaks but the engine runs you could build a chainsaw powered RC boat. I think the outputs on the engines are good for boat applications
The thinner chain oils work better than the thicker ones this is true , if you want to be really cheap and are on a budget for loggging , you can also use Vedge oil and it will do the job :)
@@ExocagedRC yessir that was definitely the issue....choke pulled out with the trigger lock on and kill switch toggle up to be in the run position....now you might not need choke in Florida as it all depends on air temp mainly....here in eastern Canada a saw will not Start without that procedure.....not sure if it has 2 choke positions or just 1 but it you pull and it starts then stalls set the choke to half then pull again

I had a lifted trx4 and about the only thing it was good for was mud. Thing would just tip over looking at a hill or rocks. You can make it work with a lot of tuning but it’s best as a mud truck with the lift.
If you close your eyes and think about it. The 2x speed sounds like a 5th scale gas car or even a nitro lol and when are you swapping the castle 800kv and mamba monster x into the chain saw🤣
