Ok sorry, is the cover on the compartments clear enough to see what's in them? In the C&F box it's hard to see the content in the compartments because the covers are kind of frosty.
I have a Richard Wheatley fly box and a wychwood televue The Wheatley got mites in it and they destroyed some of my flies But the televue even though it’s cheaper didn’t. Wheatley aren’t weather sealed Televue is and that was what made a big difference. Mites can’t get past the seal.
Bloody expensive Lindsay!!. Send me one over 😉 Great minds think alike!!, I just filled 5 fly boxes in preparation for me and my better half heading back to the UK for a few weeks. Good content Lindsay!! ATB Chris.
@@lindsayiflyfish Starting in Hampshire for a week then its northwards ending in Gairloch for some small stream stuff, I'll definitely be fishing Menteith, loch awe, loch Ba, and the Itchen.
When you bring quality, fitness for purpose, practicality into the equation then it is money well spent. Ideal for river flys. Or for a roving session on the bank of small or large still waters. Even for individual not so much team competition from the boats. Yes a team would probably use the ten/twenty fly system. When a team member is having success and tells you. “6CEC B6A 3E. Fly number in team grab box, size, colour, position on leader, line type/profile leader set up. So B6A could be B floater 6 sink tip with a what length sink rate. A boobie on point. Or DI5 sweep line? Team code sheets are for that session. If it is an individual comp. You can still zero into what you will probably need during practice sessions. With the extra space you can still have ja core number of patterns in this box. With the bonus extra choice in size and colour versions. Saves the time during the match of going in to multiple different storage boxes wasting time that should be spent with a line in the water every second counts during competition. Ten mins could equate to two extra fish. Or that could have been your best chance on a difficult day of avoiding a blank. Trout have a most annoying habit of not taking a fly when the fly is not in the water. 3E sink time as per sheet retrieve type/speed. Just how devious is your team captain. Or a simple as hat colour means line type black for fast sinker tan floater shout six for fly out of grab box. Or red cap Bravo! bad day it ain’t working for me going to sulk lol
Forty five quid! Only price of a couple days fishing, like you say probably got couple of hundred quid of flies in it. Better it had a micro chip in it so you could pinpoint it's location through an app on your phone then it would be perfect lol.
Another great video hope the box is still keeping your flies dry. Where can I purchase the box from? Tight lines Len.
Hi Len the box is indeed still going strong. You can get the box from any outlet centre. David Murray at Loch Inch is where I got this one.
Looks like a useful fly box there dude. Wait until my birthday! lol. Thanks for another upload dude.
No problem pal.
Great review. Do you know if it floats or sinks if dropped?
It does float but I would always advise that you attach it to your waistcoat or pack.
Good review! Is the transparency the covers ok? With the similar box from C&F that's an issue.
Hi Thomas, many thanks. Not quite sure what you mean about the transparency, can you rephrase perhaps?
Great review do you think it’s fine if you use the slots to hold nymphs?
Thanks Will, yes that’s what I use the slots for it’s like a one stop box. Still very pleased with it.
Thanks a lot Lindsay. My best fly box
You’re welcome 😊
Brilliant. What type of quick release system do you use to secure your ly box
It is just a fast clip like the ones that used to come with Gameboys.

Ah, right👍 yes no problems seeing into the compartments.
Can I ask you where can you buy it or who sells it as it looks a good box , cheers 👍🎣
It’s still going strong, You have to get it direct from a loop distributor.

Never owned a Wheatley fly box. Have had a few others mind 😉
Still happy with it? Have you switched to something else?
No, still going strong. It’s great if you only want to take one box.
Bloody expensive Lindsay!!.
Send me one over 😉
