So much fun to watch! I used to dance myself "back in the day". Now, at 72 and disabled and in a wheelchair, I just enjoy watching young folks getting pleasure out of their years and giving many of us happiness as we watch and listen. I am always thankful for my sight and hearing, even if I can no longer walk.
Thats very wholesome :)
Such a positive outlook on life on the face of difficulty. Nice to read this!!!
Thank you for your message!
I did this. Advanced!
Love of my life. Danced for 10 years. Now I'm disabled with Lyme Disease, nerve damage hip damage and in a wheelchair. If you're physically sound bless each day you have and learn how to dance.
I can barely walk now.
I'd give anything to dance again
Steph....you posted a nice reply....sorry to hear that you are not dancing....I too got hit with the Lyme disease and it about killed me....the good thing for me is that I have recovered and back at dancing and tennis too. I am really not that good at either but they do make you move your body especially your feet. Stay well, if you ever need help, encouragement, or motivation just e-mail. As for dancing, it is...so much fun and definitely related to our health...balance and fitness. I am not really very good at dancing or tennis but I keep trying -as I have not given up yet. Take care my friend...Bill from the Hudson Valley of New York
This dance with all its moves, I think there's over 67 moves to learn. It's soo unique! And the coolest dance
Ever! Dances have 4 basic steps to them the Lindy has 8. It's the grandaddy dance with over 1000 dances derived from it. It's turned 100 years old in 2020.
The couple where the girl is in a black dress with a red belt is fanTAStic.
Their names are Jon and Jenna. They are from my town and they are super awesome :)
Yeah, Jon and Jenna are superb! I had the honor to take their class recently -- fantastic!!
they were my favorite couple, too, but they didn't do any like grand finale moves. They were the ones most at ease and having fun out that, and that's what dancing is all about. The couple right after them (Asian guy and white girl) were also really good: they seemed to be having so much fun. Others had some special moves, like that couple with the girl in the orange skirt, but they were just too stiff or unnatural.

every single one of these couples there's not one couple that is better! they
are all so excellent!! they're all fantastic. but my two absolute favorite couples are the 1st and the 3rd . they're so good! this is an absolutely beautiful, and fantastic dance it's so mesmerizing an fun to watch! I don't think there's one couple that isn't absolute perfection!! I got to admit there's two, though, that I love the best. the 1st and the 3rd couples! those two are my favorites!!
I love all of them but the afore mentioned are just fantastic.
These Lindy Hoppers are so excellent!!
I've never heard this kind of music or seen this kind of dancing. I love it. UA-cam recommended it to me. Goodness knows why but I'm glad they did. The energy and skill is amazing. I want to do this.
My favourite dance video on UA-cam.
I can only dream about doing this. Just great.
Then do it, it's not hard.
@@bearsuo1759 Did it ever dawn on you that they might not be able to for a number of reasons?
This is incredible! I did not know that this kind of dance existed. I love the joviality of the dance and how beat it is.
OK... couple at 5:00 is pretty awesome. Great style, very memorable. Deserved more applause.
And ended their set in CLASS~
The best ones
I want to say that's Jon Tigert and Jenna Applegarth (although I could be wrong). They're amazing. I took a workshop from them one weekend a long time ago and it was awesome.
I thought he could have used a gentler touch with the follow.
Lindy Hop, we need to talk..... I love you!
I loved this from beginning to end!
I loved all the dancers but in particular enjoyed couple #2. Thanks again for sharing .
I have been dying to really learn this! I used to dance swing with my dad. I feel like if I went to a class I would be the only teenager though. Screw it, I think I'm just gonna go
Therese Tormey You should go you'll have a great time :)
Not necessarily! I've been swing dancing for almost a year, and there is a wide variety of ages at our weekly dances. I'd say most are around my age (early to mid-20s), but there are a good number of teenagers who are regulars, too. Not that that matters....everyone dances with everyone else. That's just how it is with swing dancing, and it's great. You should try it out!
Welllll....Did ya go?!?
I'm a teenager and I've already went. It's great, there weren't any other teenagers but most people were between 20 and thirtie so yeah... no problem there.
join the club!
It’s great to see people who can really dance. And the music is fantastic. 👍👍
I'm in love with Lindy Hop💕💕
These kid's are fantastic.
I want to dance like this.
First challenge: get a girl that wants to dance with me.
Here!
But first I need to learn how to dance like this xD
Don't know, but i think you are too far away ^^
I also need to learn it first
Nope. First challenge is to learn. Go take classes on lindy hop in your area (or "swing dancing" but avoid ballroom dance groups, they will NOT teach you this). At the classes you will meet people. You don't need to bring a partner.
Had the same reaction as you mehr schwein - but fortunately I live in Houston . . don't know where you are. But from my experience the swing dance clubs I have been checking out all clearly state "just show up" - and "you don't need a partner." So . . . .first time to drop some extra weight an get in better shape . . .that's my challenge . .
Denis Abercrombie haha, so true. jea, i think we can´t meet for dancing. I live in Paderborn(Germany).
I like how the first couple seems so unsure at the beginning, perhaps testing the music, and then all of a sudden, a smile appears and they start moving :)
I loved their exit in that first part, too, it's so cute 🥰
This is fantastic! Love it.
the lindy hop... Now it's stuck in my head!
So artistic . Loved it ❤️
Spectacular dancing! So much fun to watch.
Even though I'm an animation dancer, this is my favorite style of dance. Love Love LOVE this. Wish I had someone to learn with.
Hey_Im_Mojo You dont need a partner to start learning, most of the times i've been in a Lindy hop class, followers (girls) outnumber guys (leaders)! Plus, this is social dancing you are supposed to be able to dance with anyone :P
+iLHnG It's very hard to get guys to go to dancing classes. They're embarrassed because they grow up being told that they should always be in control, and always know everything. They don't like being put into a situation where they know that they're going to be shown up by someone else, the male dance teacher.
I'm loving this white dress with the black petticoat - way to go, awesome human!
If I were about 30 years younger..... Love watching this.
Espectacular
I love this!
the Lindy is one of the greatest dance's
Asian guy...grey shirt and white girl red skirt...my faves.
Beautiful.
Quelle talents a vous mercis beaucoup continue des annee de travail j'aimerais a votre age pour dancers comme ca
COUPLE 1!!! Hands down.
That was so awesome
The dancers are fantastic but OH MY GOD THE BAND. Might be a bit biased here. Been dancing less than a year been playing the trombone for 10 now. (BTW if anyone has any advice for a rookie lemme know)
YRUThinknlmom
O M G I havnt danced in 30 years. this is like the swedish Bugg and Jitterbugg. same but slightly diffrent. This gives me a flashback and I dance alone in my apartment haha :D
excellent ! ! ! from paris !
That guy with the beard in white shirt and tie is in it to win it, I'd love to see him dance with either the girl in the short black dress or the one in all-black shirt and pants.
I love lindy hop💓
I guess im obsessed about lindy hop
_ Qu'est-ce que c'est génial et groovie !
Божественно!
Youth, the medicine of life.
Talent!
Just awesome
Super Cool Daddy-O!!!

Now that was some fine dancing.
Contagiante !
wwoww très bon merci
Forteee!!!
wauuuu amazing
woooow super :)
BRAVOOO
This was a time when people got `high` from pure fun and enjoyment, they were good times. (85 now)
What, six years ago? You should get out more!
All I can say is this dance requires a really big floor. Can you imagine 35 or 50 couples trying to dance at one time? There'd be poking eyes, stepping on feet, and knocking folks down. Wow, that would be worth seeing.
The song in the beginning was Moten Swing!
Estupendo, no pueden agregar pasos dobles?
Очень понравилось!!!Класс!!!Весело!!!
WOW ! Better than video games and Netflix !
Look at all the commenters who watched the short Hellzapoppin clip and now think they're Lindy experts lol. Reality: the fast tempo was rare back in the heyday of Lindy Hop and Whitey's dancers were the exception, not the rule. They were professionals. Most original lindy hoppers danced just like these kids whether they were black or white.
No.
Meredith Williams Frankie was my cousin. shut the hell up because it's not even close you ditz.
A Lindy Hop expert. Impressive. lol
Alright!
Now that’s what you call dancing.
WOW !
LINDY LINDY LINDY LINDYYYYYYYY -Lindy Butafwy
wow!
"Lindy hop around the truth." -Mike Patton/Mr. Bungle
How do you do that.Is amazing
🎉🎉🎉
Gutes Video und Tanz, für die die nicht tanzen ist diese Beinarbeit Hochleistungssport.
MAN THAT SWINGS just wish my feet didn't feel like 50 pound weights, what i'd give to dance like that.
+David Floyd If you can learn the basic steps, and 'feel' the beat of the music, you can do this dance. It's not that hard, really; and once you know, you'll find out that most of the hard stuff is being done by the girl, all you have to do is learn how to lead her into it. Lots of high schools have night time adult classes in basic swing dance, cheap, and there are always way more women there than men. Give it a try. You won't be sorry. Knowing how to dance will make you much more attractive to women, if that's something you want.
THANKS FOR THE INFO
Show!!!!!!!😍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
💖💜
I'm having trouble understanding why Dan Newsome & Lainey Silver didn't place.
+Kyle Dennis Yes! I thought they were the best by far!
Can anyone tell me, where I can find this song? Yesterday I heard It's called Moten Swing. But this interpretation I didn't found somewhere else
It's a kinda mash-up of Moten Swing and You Drive Me Crazy, so you're not gonna find it anywhere else
0:12 dan laney run run swingout
Suppeerrrr🤗
These cats really swing!
wwwwwwoooow I just came from Whiteys Lindy Hoppers .. Hellzapoppin....this is pretty sloooooow
M.I. De Oli sigh literally brought me here, talk about representation lol
Whitey's group were the best of the best and considered professionals at the time.
я уже 8 лет занимаюс этими танцами,желею что не начела ранше,та как мне уже 72 тежеловато
where can I learn how to lindy hop?
Я хочу так танцевать....то же.
+Peter Linyov посмотрит вот тут www.balboa.ru/schools.html список школ, найдите в своем городе и сходите на занятия :) Этот танец доступен всем.
whats the first song that was played?
2:00 look at him dancing in his purple Vans
Voidwalker thank you. I swing danced in Houston as a young boy in my teens but this was one of my first outings in prob 5-6 years 🤣
Why can I imagine Nico and Hazel doing this...?
Alain - You are the one of these dancers?
Who does the opening track? Help..I love it!
If you're talking about who recorded the musical piece, it's "Moten Swing" by Bennie Moten, then later recorded by Benny Goodman and Count Basie. The Bennie Moten and Basie recordings start out with an intro before getting into the melody that you're talking about, so if you start listening and don't recognize the melody right away, just wait.:-)
MusicFanOnline: Thank's a lot! Greatly appreciated.
+820SOUTH Thank you, too. I had not listened to this song in many years and it was like I almost forgot about it. Thank you for reminding me of it! I added it to my playlist so I can listen to it more.
MusicFanOnline: I am making a playlist of all different versions of this song available on You Tube. Thanks again.
Name song?
Yea - wasn't the point of my comment - at all. Don't even know if you are M or FM. Lol. Trying to point out that most swing dance groups encourage people to come even if they don't bring a partner.
how cool 😎
What is the name of this song?
Shouldn't they all be wearing 1920s attire?
Класссссс
Музон полнейший отстой.Удивительно,что они ещё могут двигаться под эту музыку,не заснув на ходу.
А вот эти же танцы под наложенную музыку группы "Band Odessa", смотрятся высший класс!Вот там полный драйв!
