OmG VTAK just kicked in y0! I'm definitely a 4cyl/straight-6 kind of guy but god damn i love this sound in the end there's never any replacement for good old-fashioned muscle cars
That is true. It was in a front end wreck with a previous owner, has a '68 front end. But thats what made me not feel too bad about modding a classic, there really wasn't a whole lot of factory parts left on it by the time I got a hold of it.
Mine is a Windsor. I've heard of people stroking Cleve's to the amount, but I've also heard it costs more and can have oiling problems. So I went for the Windsor.
OOOOOH i have a 67 mustang too. only its red. i am currently in the process of fixing it up. needs a new muffler, possibly a whole new exaust line, and i think the fuel pump. then some body work. mustangs are awesome.
which is why his cars, and all the Mustangs turned race cars since then, have had subframe connectors and roll cages welded in... as have almost al the muscle cars of the era
I like them quite a bit. My knowledge on mustangs is limited when it come to rare types like the couple shelby that has the SAME tail lights as normal coupes. only 3 made I think...
yeah I agree with a classic muscle car the only FI you can go with is a supercharger but even that isnt a great idea. one should go for higher compression heads, a stroker, or a cam before considering going FI on a classic it just seems out of place.
Sorry. It was running rough and had a smaller cam with a worn out exhaust lobe that day. It made 347hp and 450lbs of torque at the rear wheels. Now it has a bigger cam and hits on all 8. Next time I'm hoping for 400hp and 500lbs of torqe.
You can stroke a 302 to a 331 or a 347 (347s won't last you as long though.) I am probably going to help my friend out by stroking the 302 in his 67 to a 331, more reliable, more torque, and you can still rev the hell out of it.
I'll look into it further. However, I have never ever come across anything that would be considered hard evidence that suggests your idea to be true. But it is possible. Just like a '67 GT500 convertible, Very very very very rare.
No. It is true. Ford's Vin number log proves it. All cars in 1967 and '68 that were Gt's or GTA's are logged as having the sportsroof option. In non ford lingo, fastbacks. Anything other than that is aftermarket or cloned.
quote: their handling kinda sucks... I own a civic and a 350z Haha! I'm sorry.... lol I live in Texas. The roads are flat and straight, handling isn't an issue. The racing is done 1/4 mile at a time, and from stoplight to stoplight, where the muscle car is king.
You're misinformed. I have a factory GTA Mustang. It's been documented by Ford and Kevin Marti. I have a Licensed by Ford document stating that my car is an actual GTA or for those not familiar with GTA's a GT with an automatic. It has an emblem, like all other GT's do on the lower half of the front fenders behind the wheel wells. Believe what you want, but I've been building Mustangs for a long time. You can believe it, or don't... either way... fastbacks were not the only real GT's.
Thats not true. If it's a GT, coupe/ fastback or convertible, it says GT or in my car's case GTA on the side at the bottom of each fender (among other places throughout the car)
Mustangs don't handle? You have a civic? Bring on your 1967 Civic and let's see it handle. Mustangs handled well enough to pretty much eradicate the SCCA competition of the day, and plenty of parts are available to bring them up to today's standards. Now, who cares how that civic handles when it is 5 miles behind when it gets to the corner?
Is that a 351-W or a 351-C in it, cause i have a 72 Mach with a built, bored and stroked 351-C to a 408, and from wat i know thats as far as you can go with a cleveland because of the coolant passages. In a Windsor I know it can be stroked far more thats why I am asking wat is in yours.
If you really are interested, send me a private message and I will give you some links to check. You can give me your email address and I'll send you some pics of my car and other GT coupes and convertibles. They are kinda rare, but no more rare than a GT fastback... although there seems to be more of those on the road now than there was 10 years ago (clones/ fakes). Kinda like Shelbys.
this is a melody for my ears and temptation for my eyes... god I love that car
AMAZING!!! I have both a '68 GT Fastback and a '67 coupe, but as of now neither run. Can't wait though! Sweet ride man! Mustangs forever!
I'll agree with the first poster, at 37 seconds.....WOW! sweet ride man!

nice car and a good sound! Pity that in Germany are not so many Mustangs....

now this is sweet! id love to have that car!

ive a got an 07 gt and thats the only car i would trade it for. your a lucky man.

The true definition of HORSEpower!
0:36 Jesus...
1967 ford mustang gt, that is my car!!
No replacement for displacement!
the older stangs I THINK are faster than the new ones
whistly noise is air flowing into the carb.
you can actually stroke and bore it to pretty much whatever you want under 355 or so. unless you get a kit, which can be easier.
You can stroke a 302 to a 331 or a 347 (347s won't last you as long though.) I am probably going to help my friend out by stroking the 302 in his 67 to a 331, more reliable, more torque, and you can still rev the hell out of it.

@lukeshytalker02 Yes with the name Lisa, I am a dudette! It still has a big block sound though, doesn't it?
No. It is true. Ford's Vin number log proves it. All cars in 1967 and '68 that were Gt's or GTA's are logged as having the sportsroof option. In non ford lingo, fastbacks. Anything other than that is aftermarket or cloned.
@fanof3lisa its a stroked small block dude ; )
Ignore those stupid comments from jealous people.......nice car and love that big block sound!
Anyone know what uzunerc said????
67 and 68 are basicly the same and look alot alike, however notice the pretend rear 'brake vents' or whatever they're called

ya the side fins are clearly a 67's
It's not a GT. Only Fastbacks wore the GT logo in '67-'68. But still an awesome car. With that motor, it would outrun a stock GT.
wheres my drool bucket
