- Henry the Green Engine joins Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends BACHMANN HO Scale Train. This model is a beautiful locomotive and runs well right from the package. Could not pull a large load without slipping. But it was not designed to pull that many normal HO Scale cars. Looks great running around the Sodor layout with Thomas the Tank Engine!

Only yesterday (the 18 hours before this comment. I was testing the motors on my HO scale engines. Mainly to get my Birlington Northern ALCO RS 3 to work and to see if the others work. It's always funny seeing the ALCO not start at first and the rest pile up on each other. :)

Rail powered - We have block wiring in the rails to get the electricity to the locomotives. These are our favorite type of trains. I am hoping to build another layout and we will probably include some tutorials or tips as we do. Thanks so much for the question!

Where/how do you usually get your trains for this? I've been wanting to start my own collection, however it seems like some sites (such as ebay) may not be exactly trustworthy, and it seems like the official website's prices are absurdely high.
Also, are there any specific trains/models you would recommend for starting out my collection with? (collection as in me attempting to make my own train layout)
Thomas John The most reliable source I have found is Amazon. Prices are usually the best and I get free shipping on everything.

bachmann thomas is not as strong like in the tv series, if you put a heavy load. bachmann henry can because it pulls the same heavy loads. so bachmann makes the model look accurate and using the strength
as in the tv series
The Bachmann Thomas Percy and James don't have front couplers because they were the first thomas and friends locomotives they made and they didn't know what they wanted to do yet

Train Tsar Fun if you want those 3 to have something coupled to their front i suggest using a paper clip or something like that, thats what i use and i works well

Keanu Kearins I do not know. I haven't seen those available here. I have thought of getting Hornby if they have characters that Bachmann does not make

No
When I was a teenager I had a 4x7 train layout that was a similar twice around as this one. I used to make the trains long enough to hit there own caboose. That put a lot of strain on those cheap Tyco locomotives. Needless to say - I stripped a few motors over the years. I think these Bachmann locos are better made. I'm still bummed out about Percy and that was only cosmetic damage. The trains I showed on on BrickTsar's Basement are much better and much stronger. But I want be crashing those into anything

why they didnot put a front coupler on thomas because they made his running plate too low to add one but there is a slight chance you can add one yourself

Paul Dosanjh check eBay - most of my purchases are eBay or Amazon. The older the video the less likely that the same items are readily available

A face and speech is human characteristics - so - yes - fictional trains can be anthropomorphic. Watch a show called Thomas the Tank Engine and the trains talk and have faces
Great stuff. realise that you get a lot from Ebay, but you will find on Trainworld.com you can access a lot of the other characters www.trainworld.com/search/?q=thomas+bachmann They have bill and ben, Donald and Douglas, diesel etc. Just great what your doing
Oh yes! Ever since I ended my Model Railroader subscription I forgot about them. They usually have good prices and I have bought from them before. I'm always looking for the cheapest price which is why some are from Amazon and some from eBay. Trainworld has a great selection!
