Lovely!!
Thank you for your attentive answer, off course I always keep following you...
I thought Ian Bostridge is just a countertenor ;) It's lovely! Thanks!

Amazing always Ian!!! Woau!
Ian Bostridge seems to inspire some strong feelings on both sides of the fence. Wonder what that's about.
Hard to believe he takes himself seriously ! He's probably laughing all the way to the bank
About the carrot, in french :
"On dit que l'on est patriote si on a une patrie.
Eh bien j'ai une carie et je ne suis pas pour autant une carotte (one "r" in french).
When u goin to do Haydn s creation again?
Not on the schedule at the moment!
To little power in his voice on this one, with a full orchestra(sounds like an alto, some places..). His Erlkönig performance with the pianist was outstanding though!
I think its because Haydn and Mozart in some schools are considered to be sung light and "above" your voice..
He doesnt lift the sang up....
another recording singer...
I don't know what to make of this performance really. Ok, the singer (Bostridge?) has great voice, maybe even the best in the versions I've heard of "Mit Würd", but still, I don't really like this performance. I like better the version of The Priests (even though they had added extra harmonies), and I like better even the version here in UA-cam where some "local hero" with quite modest voice sings this in a church. I don't know what bothers me here... dunno...
His voice is a little too light and graceful for my tastes. Nice interpretation however...just not for me
I am a tenor, of similar voice, and I think I'm pretty objective, and I just don't see the beauty in this performance. Individuality, certainly. But his voice just doesn't seem to have any kind of ring. I love his lieder recordings for their expressiveness, but anything live just seems a little silly compared to singers like Polenzani or Paul Groves.
just listen to his Lieder but not this one
intonation not impressed
How did he ever get on stage ! No voice at all ! Look at the tension just to produce a tone ! It shows you that conductors don't know a thing about the voice ,and that includes the audience ! The art of singing has been destroyed
its about time conductors and directors opened their ears to the real talent that they pass over in favor of this poor vocal display
the worst im sorry
what dreadful singing
