A chance hearing of Patty in Austin 2003. I was so mezmerized by her voice, musicality, and lyrics, I had to hear more. No wonder so many better known musicians have recorded her songs. The wonder is, why she's not better known further afield than her fanbase. I just heard one of her songs used on a 2012 episode of Saving Hope. I'm going to bring out my earlier cds, and savor the memories of hearing her again - for the first time.
I missed Patty the last time she came to Portland, but next Tuesday I'm seeing her at the Crystal Ballroom! Cannot wait... I've been listening to the new album non-stop for days. This song might be my favorite, if only for the bittersweetness of the final line.
@@wlgj1341I feel like you show up alone and lie about Patty griffin songs. Look it up. Her mother passed and her name was Lorraine. Are you okay? I'm concerned.
Seems Patti sits in for this male troubadour in this one…perhaps others, ie: prayer in A minor..hardly a woman’s plaint…yes, I wrote both and others she does do splendidly
Beautiful guitar. Beautiful words.

I always believed this was for Plant - now I’ve read it’s for her mom.

Totally Awesome! Patty is so Good for your Soul. Stay Well Patty!
I borrowed from the Wilson’s for this pictorial arpeggios’ design …that is to say the overview created by the description in words
This song is about Robert...l love it.💖
This was written for her mother Lorraine Griffin. ❤️
No, it wasn’t
Very possibly arranged and dedicated to her but I wrote the storyline, also several others she knocks a home run with….
I’d imagine enjoying listening to lorraine Sing although Patti doesn’t tell that story exactly about Loraine’s Patents of song…?
Lorraine had a virtual hard time of it..I did not write that ode

The cover design is absolutely mesmerizing. Anybody know where it came from?
I don't know but it reminds me of Islamic or maybe Sufic art??
