Interviews of enemy soldiers who survived tell of a sniper whose dependable weapon jammed 3 times trying to shoot Doss. He realized that this man was not supposed to die so he stopped. In any event Desmond Doss was a holy man and demonstrated what one man could do when connected to the Divine. God speed Desmond. What an inspiration. I just want to be a better man because of him.
I just watched this film and I found it emotional because the heroics of this guy was out of this world and saving 75 people without using a single bullet is just amazing
the real story is even more amazing at the end because he got injured by the grenade but he rolled off his stretcher while they were taking him to medical and inisted they give it to a dying soldier and he spent more time on the ridge. He even got shot by a sniper and made his own splent
Once it was clear aircraft carrier wings were superior ship killers battleships were mostly used as mobile artillery to shell islands. There were only two battleship vs battleship battles during the Pacific war the 2nd battle of Guadalcanal and the battle of Surigao Strait.
I don't think his medic kit was big enough to hold as many tubes of morphine or rolls of bandages as Mr. Doss went through that day. I think God was doing the loaves and fishes thing with his medic bag.
Fantastic reaction! You've earned a new subscriber with this one! So much respect for the history behind Cpl. Doss and his story, and I respect it so much. If you haven't reacted to (/watched it) yet, I'd highly recommend "Enemy At The Gates." I truly believe it's a very slept-on movie about the Russian side of WWII, and as a history buff, I think you'd really enjoy it. Much love, and keep on keeping' on!!
@@thatreactionguy1058 I will say that Black Hawk Down is probably the most intense of the bunch because once the action starts it really doesn't stop until the movie is over. Remember being exhausted walking out when my Dad took me to see it in theater. It's got a great cast too: Josh Harnett, Eric Bana, Sam Shepard, Tom Sizemore, Tom Hardy, Orlando Bloom, Ewan McGregor, William Fichtner
I love this movie so much! I watched it twice in one day. Just found your channel, and I'm subbing right now. 8:43 Oh, yeah. They bombard it for hours.
@@thesevendeadlysins578 we filmed on a farm in Western Sydney that was made up to look like a battlefield and I got to hang out with Mel Gibson it was fun
Great reaction. Sorry this is late. I understand that the story had even more amazing things take place but they toned it down thinking audiences wouldn’t believe it. Good movie by Mel Gibson. Hopefully you saw Braveheart, if not try that movie.
Is getting shot you don't die instantly in most cases. The center of the head maybe. But pretty much anywhere else you're just gonna bleed out slowly until you run out of blood.
Hugely talented Mel did a great job with this movie. Andrew was brilliant and brilliantly cast in the lead role. Suggest, if you have not seen it, watch Apocalypto, also directed by Mel, gruesome but a stellar film
Thanks for your suggestions! Yes, I was actually looking into doing Tombstone in the future. I've only seen a few clips from UA-cam on it, but never saw the movie, so I'd like to watch the whole thing with my reaction.
That Reaction Guy ahh yes I see, I ran across your old republic trailer reactions and went to check if you did the shards of the past one and didn’t see it, definitely was scrolling to fast. Awesome. Did you ever check out the Darth maul one as well
Just watched your reaction to this and Schindler's list. Have you seen Silence, if you haven't seen it already? Both Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield are in it (also Adam driver, and directed by Scorsese)
Actually that scene where he says that he had killed him in his heart comes from the book of Matthew. In Matthew chapter 5 Jesus teaches that hating someone without cause is the same as murdering them inside your own heart. Because all murder including blindfits of rage page start from a place of hate.
Sorry that you feel that way. When you do reactions of movies on UA-cam, you're only allowed up to 10 minutes of the entire movie. Trust me, I want to show me, but I can't due to that time limit.
I hope you realize that there is only 10 minutes of footage allowed when playing a movie and doing a reaction. If I only allow the movie to play, that flags the video as not being under "fair use".

Also I'm pretty sure a japanese sniper said that he had 3 clear shots on doss but all 3 times his gun jammed

The thing that makes me so emotional when watching this movie is that it is based on true events.
Andrew Garfield!
