Welcome to the first of many videos about Shaun’s kayak adventures 😂. I had a great time bobbling around the in the water. If you’re new here consider subscribing, if you’re not new here welcome back it’s great to have you all here enjoying my videos 😊
Hi Shaun . Love your videos. I'm a 68 year old recently widowed overweight lady with a two man Sevylor Kayak. Lived here in Cornwall for 3 years now and love it. My husband and I retired here, but unfortunately he got the dreaded cancer and passed away last May. We'd never done kayaking, and I decided to buy one, to help with the grief. And it worked!. I loved my summer on the sea last year, 2022, and can't wait for 2023 to get warmer. I like Maenporth, must try to find the cave. The problem you seem to be having with the water ingress whilst rowing is probably due to your seat. Not fitted correctly I think. Too far back in the boat, and not upright enough. Use the tags on the sides to keep correcting the seat back by pulling it forwards. It lifts you higher up, and you can get a better rowing position. Its a case of trial and error. Thanks for all the encouragement.
Ha brilliant. I spent every summer on that beach as a child as my Grandparents lived in nearby Mawnan. Many a day paddling about in an inflatable boat. There used to be a shipwreck on the left hand side we would explore. Brought back many memories - thanks.
Cracking video, Shaun - and how fab that people are recognising you, and you're encouraging folk to get out and explore the beautiful place that is Cornwall. Brilliant!
Thanks Vicky. That’s twice now I’ve been stopped by viewers. Both times at Maenporth too. I think I need to speak to life’s a beach cafe and ask for commission for the amount of people that are going there because of seeing my videos 😆. Really nice to know people like watching the videos though. 👍
Yea it’s a really nice feeling when you meet someone in the flesh that enjoy your videos. It kind of makes it a bit more real. I just hope I don’t meet someone one day who hates my videos 😆
Thanks Shaun I saw this video some months ago and we just had a great day at Maenporth beach launched our inflatable kayak for its first voyage and went to the little cove many thanks for your video we had lots of fun but forgot the camera so will repeat it next week with the 360deg camera Now looking for other secret coves near Falmouth or Roseland A great start to our holiday
Your first recognition 👍 A 2 man Intex explorer is what the wife and I have and we're still waiting for our Dag Midways to arrive in the UK. Careful coz you'll be upgrading soon when you can't go out in a chop and want something more capable.
I probably will you’re right. I enjoyed going in out in it but snorkelling with always be my preferred form of transport in the water. It was great to be able to take the drone with me to a little private cove though 👍
@LoveSundays loving your video's of the Falmouth area, my favorite place on earth, though I don't live there any more (I blame my parents!) I have been revisiting my favourite places with my family who had never been until this year. My favorite place in down near Durgan, Grebe beach, I would love you to do a snorkeling video there, i'm visiting in August and hoping to teach my daughter to snorkel and would love to know what it's like as I have only been swimming there as a kid. Thanks and keep up the great work!
@@LoveSundays nearly at 1000 subs too. You definitely deserve to be way past that now. There’s a lot worse Cornwall vloggers out there that get more views and their videos are just rubbish in comparison. I’m not mentioning any names though 🤫
Yes getting there one sub at a time 😆. I think it must be that my thumbnails or something because people just don’t seem to click on them 😆. Yea best not mention any names I like to keep it positive on here 👍
@@LoveSundays your positivity is one of the reason I always watch these videos along with the fantastic visuals and editing. It’s a shame more people don’t click on your vids because they’d all probably if they did.
Great video and cool music too, just had my lad round for dinner and shown him your latest video and he said good camera work and drone too, also shown him the video with the raffle and he fell about with the haircut reference. Keep up the good work.👍🦊
@@LoveSundays 🤣🤣, just got back on Sunday from Cornwall, had a brilliant time, went to Constantine bay it was beautiful there and car parking £5 7am till 7pm bargain.
Nice video again Shaun, 👍🏼 no one really comments on your videos about all the different angles you get and the amount of effort involved to set up a tripod, launch the drone, film the clip then go back and get the camera!! Top marks for the effort you put in, that's what makes your videos so interesting from a viewer point if view 😁 well done 👏
Thanks Jon. I like to think I put a lot of effort into the shots and then bring it all together etc. I guess if people don’t notice it that’s means it’s working. No doubt if I didn’t bother putting in the extra work to get more interesting shots the viewers would say how rubbish the video was 😆. Glad you appreciate the work I put into these videos 😊
Excellent video the kyack looks good fun and where you went looks like a good snorkeling spot thanks to your ace drone footage. Will be giving it go soon thanks to you and your great channel. How don't you pop over to Carbis Bay this weekend and give the drone flight over the beach could be interesting lol.
Great video Mate, really nice angles and shots you got there👍 I have an inflatable Kayak, it's absolutely brilliant you can pack it up to a really small size and take it anywhere, well done Mate 👍
@@LoveSundays No worries, would just like to let you know there probably wont be a video this weekend as something has happened with the equipment! haha, videos hopefully back soon!
@@LoveSundays yeah would hope so! very soon quality shots and angles will be coming, as im going to try and get a professional vlogging camera with you know, a microphone and all the bits and peices i will need to upgrade my videos, really hope there will be videos this weekend but its looking unlikely, if anything one will be dropped on sunday, cheers Shaun
Long time watcher, first time commenter!, (on youtube, kirk mcgrath on instagram) i was gonna comment on some of your vids before regarding the gopro water drops/condensation on the lense, you need to lick it with your tounge, the saliva stops it all! and its free. Being a snorkler id imagine your probably aware of this, but it works on the gopro lense as well. Water drops can be really frustrating when you get home, it can ruin some footage. Hope this helps, keep spreading the good vibes
Thanks Kirk. Yes I always spit on my mask but wasn’t sure if it would work on the GoPro. I will definitely try it out when I’m back out in the water. Thanks for watching and glad you’re enjoying the good vibes 👍
Dude you definitely know how to live. We have a couple of those kayaks but haven’t taken them out yet. Did you launch the drone from the kayak? I’m trying to get the courage up for that for when I’m fishing. I’m not there yet. Lol.
Yes I launched from the kayak that was fairly easy because I always hand launch anyway but I didn’t want it land it in the kayak so I hand landed it on the cove. It’s always the getting it back that’s difficult 😆. 👍
@@LoveSundays yea I usually hand launch and land with the mini 2 also. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have any issue launching from the kayak but catching it while bobbing up and down would be tricky. I would be that guy. Lol.
Aw thanks Johnny I’ve got an Instagram page too where I post most of my pictures but don’t worry if you don’t have Instagram. You should get a kayak even if you just want to bobble around in the water is so relaxing
Try rubbing some head and shoulders dandruff shampoo on your gopro lens cover. Let it dry then rub it off. I use it on the inside of my helmet visor to stop it steaming up in the winter. Dandruff shampoo is hydrophobic and helps prevent condensation forming. Let me know if it works....

I’m sorry to hear about your late husband Christine ❤️. I hope you find some form of happiness out on the water this year. All the best
Love all your different camera angles and the Motown ...it's my favourite music total win win on this vlog . Brilliant
Thank you glad you enjoyed it. I thought I’d put some upbeat Motown at the end just to end the happy video with a happy song 😊

Glad you enjoyed the video Dan. Check out some of my other videos as I’ve snorkelled around that shipwreck quite a few times
Awesome editing again, just like watching England's Casey! 👍😎🕶👊
Wow now that is a compliment. Thank you very much. Maybe one day my vids will be as good as his 👍
Thats cool that you met the people who visited because of you. 'Visit Cornwall' should sign you up as an ambassador
Haha I wonder how much they’d pay me 😆
@@LoveSundays haha…. Hopefully more than the £2.31 that UA-cam once paid you. I watched that video last night 👍.
What a brilliant little video shaun. You looked very chilled out in that kayak bobbing around. Me and my wife got kayaks and there great fun.
Yes it was a lot of fun and a great way to spend the evening 👍 glad you enjoyed it
I’ve really become a fan of your channel. Keep it up!

Just came across another one of your old videos I haven’t seen👍🏼👍🏼loving it
I’ve been on the paddle board I won from you 👍🏼thanks, feels really stable,
Looks nice, and easy to bring in a car :) Very handy when you just want to explore the close surroundings :)
Yea it was very easy to transport and easier to pump up than the paddle board. 👍
Thats was brilliant mate love if do more videos like that to go find secret coves top quality mate 🤘📷🍻

Do the ends of those paddles extend a bit further? That might reduce the splashing.
I don’t think so I probably should’ve read the instructions 😆
That's exactly what I was thinking .
