I copy all the directories off of the SD card and put it on my computer. I have an external HD that I keep everything on too. Then I keep them in directories based on artist and then the songs.
Nice! I could/should do ever more in terms of backing up and archiving. I have had... bad things happen. Once had a band show up after a 3 hour drive to discover all their material was on a bad harddrive. We had to start over.
Hey QFG! Where can we listen to something you mixed/mastered? I'd be interested in hearing how well you can do with the Tascam. I'm a hybrid analog user myself, but not to the extent of a mixing board as of yet.
Hey Rich, thanks for the sub, I'll do the same. I've been screwing around so much lately - I don't likely have anything 100% recorded, mixed and mastered on the Tascam. My backlog of work was been recorded over the last decade across various computers and interfaces. Maybe I'll do a demo song - entirely on the Tascam... would not take me long. I'll get back to you. In the mean time - check out the guy on UA-cam that recorded some young guys doing a version of the Beatles 'Come Together'. He records the whole thing on a Tascam Model 24. Cheers!
@@QuestForGear Not a problem and much appreciated but hey, what can I say. I find your whole setup interesting!
On top of that, voicing your frustrations with the real things in life is plenty relatable! (I saw the troll response vid lol, F that guy)
Just know you made a gear fan here and I'll always be stoked to see what the next vid is about!
Cheers right back at ya!
Thanks! Yeah - I make the kind of video I like to watch - real folks - using their recording gear... pretty simple! I'll check your channel out asap!
@@QuestForGear Fair warning, all you'll find is vulgar hip hop, some prog and a country song lolol. (All of it mixed by me some composed entirely, some not) I'm in the middle of filming some studio videos though! Nothing quite at your scale yet!
Right on. I don't want to give the cliche' 'I love all music' - because that's not true - but, I don't mind vulgar hip hop, some prog and country! I'm a ween fan, so... you get all of that with them.
Hey! Do you know anyone who has a reel to reel 8 track? I have a 1/2" reel that I really wish I could get the songs off of.
I'll ask around for you - I wish I did know someone. I almost bought a machine last year - but... I really have no reliable way to have it maintained or repaired. I'll ask a few people in town.
Booorrrriiinnnggg!
You're boring.
