I have lived in Salisbury most of my life but despite seeing the cathedral daily it still astounds me. It is looking incredible this summer…no scaffolding and the stonework is so clean.
How absolutely lovely to see Salisbury Cathedral again. I used to visit the city regularly when we lived in Wiltshire. The last time we saw the Cathedral it had scaffolding around the spire. I don't think you have a lot of time for reading, but the book Sarum includes the building of the Catbedral, in a very reader friendly format. A novel based on fact.
Being borne and still living in Salisbury, really enjoyed your videos of Old Sarum which we can see from our house and our beautiful cathedral. glad you enjoyed your trip here and looking forward to your next adventure
Thanks Bob & Jenny for all your hard work making these videos of your trip. We have enjoyed following you travels. It gives us inspiration for future trips. Salisbury cathedral has the tallest spire in the UK that is one reason why it is so impressive!
We are on a site at the moment and our neighbour's are subscribers of yours as well. We all agree that your videos are great, very interesting and help us to find our way to sites. You are all very much appreciated thank you, Bob, Jenny, Tara and of course the very famous Poppy.
Great video! We visited there last year and were in awe. Beautiful cathedral. We visited on a Wednesday when they have, in the town, a lovely market. No tat just beautiful arts and crafts and local food. Definitely recommend
Another brilliant video Bob..Salisbury is very impressive and even though I have visited many times I enjoyed your trip.I stayed at the Salisbury hillside caravan club site..a bit far away from Salisbury but a nice site.
Very impressive increddibel building! The same diakon of Rome St Laurence is the same patron of the Cathedral of Lund St Laurentius ! Fantastic video Bob! Barbro 🕊🇸🇪
Loved this, you are in my area!! Love Salisbury Cathedral, the spire has a pit underneath it and if it gets too dry they pour water down the pit to keep the spire stable, I was told that it doesn't have any proper foundations and is built on clay and depends on the water meadows and hence the water table for its very existence! Thanks again for your Vlogs, very informative! X
Nice tour around my cathedral Bob. I thought your still photos in the middle were exceptional. Interesting fact: at about 1:20 in your video you walked into the cathedral grounds just before you went into the Bell Tower tea room. On the dried grass in front of the tearoom there is an outline of the original Bell Tower, which was a separate building. You probably missed it, but you can see the edge. This became the symbol for English Heritage!
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Time Team did a dig at the Bell tower some years back, which was interesting. Also can get a good view of it from the spire guided tour!!
I took my friend to see it and everyone was amazed when she began to read it out loud. It's in Latin and quite eligible compared to the other versions.
Hi Bob, Jenny and Poppy and Tara, well isn’t the cathedral a grande building, both very informative as usual, thank you for sharing x shame your tour is at an end
Jenny is such a mind of information, was she a school teacher by any chance ? I love listening to her roll of the historical facts . Thank you so much Jenny and stay safe both. xx 🏴🏴

Ted Heaths house Arundells is a very interesting place to visit- same side of the green.
As always, excellent videos.
We walked past that. Can't say we were a fan of Ted Heath though...
No worries. Beautiful gardens in there going down to the river.
So glad you went inside for us to see. We visited last October and the Cathedral was closed off for filming
Yes, it's a stunning Cathedral, well worth a visit.

She did do one year at teacher training, but no, never a teacher.
Another great video, thank you. And you’ve found somewhere that dogs can go 🐕
Thank you, and the dogs were very well behaved too.
Wow how beautiful. Not sure what the artwork was, but i am sure the one with the car accident really happened.

Thanks no, never been to Lincoln Cathedral, we'll have to remedy that.
It seems they moved it and rehoused it since someone took a hammer to the casing a few years ago.
“Bye then “ think the most relieved Jenny “Bye then “ ive heard . Think you’ve historically beaten her Captain 👍🏻👍🏻😂😂x
