The 3 girls are technically BabyMetal. The band is called the Kami (God) Band and is a separate entity, I think they have about 8 members right now, but it is mostly the same 4 guys for the last few years.
Thanks for the information!
Best version of ROR 3 teenage girls in full control of the audience ❤❤❤😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Nice, I am looking forward to the rest 🙂
BABY METAL🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
Good reaction! “RoR" is one of the iconic songs of BABYMETAL. Please keep listening to BABYMETAL!🦊🔥🎸
Great reaction!! I usually wait for a reactor to do a 2nd reaction before subscribing, so here I am 😀. Looking forward to your journey down the fox hole.
You can't really pin them down to a specific music genre, they really mix pretty much every style. But for me, I call it Happy Metal.
3:07 _Now Pizza time (Pizza time!)_ 🦊🤘🍕
Welcome back to the Foxhole.
Nice to see you're back with this suggestion to follow your BM journey, just like here it was the ender for almost every show at the World Tour 2023/2024 and everyone loved to have fun with this one such last month at the Europe Tour and prior to that at Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas, they did a fun interview about it and you can see they were excited with Slipknot returns (another band BM producer loves) they were very supportive during early era or Metal Resistance chapter and now they will be playing at Knotfest Tour, also they played at San Francisco as part of the Babyklok Tour along with Dethklok, and DragonForce were there playing too, another supportive band since BM beginning career and also involved in the album version of this song as well some live collabs together around those years.
"Road Of Resistance" is a power/speed metal song, it's one of their most epic anthems and the album version got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. It's all about facing your own path without looking back.
This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment.
With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they're performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages.
The East Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians, they were sent to help the girls with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists).
All of them are male, they are:
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums.
- Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly passed away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar.
- BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP.
- Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father was very famous in Japanese music scene.
Nowadays they're inactive and the band playing at live tour is the West Kami Band, more of them in newer performances.
At the end of their shows they always said and shout "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to make them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed from X-Japan saying it at live concerts too.
Next suggestion to enjoy another epic milestone:
- *Ijime, Dame, Zettai* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 official live.
Another suggestion to enjoy official MV and the song for the first time:
- *Megitsune* official MV, don't go for a live version with this one, trust me, some MV hits better with the official MV, just a few of them not all, of course.
Btw this project is huge and they're not a conventional band, so please try not to compare with any other band since BM don't rely on the same musicians everytime bc some of them got their own schedule, some left for personal reasons and some just passed away, the frontwomen and official members of this group were always the three girls.
This month they will start with the Asian Tour and in October they will be at Knotfest Brazil, Argentina and Chile for the first time in South America, as well Peru with a headlining show, they will come back to the US for another tour and also Mexico will be part of that tour but this time as special guests for Slipknot, we can't wait for it.
Hope to see you around with more BM songs.
See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Why do you insist on putting that on every single RoR reaction? They don't say that, and if it's supposed to be some kind of amusing joke, it's run its course
🤘🦊♪
Nice reaction!!!
Fox sign!! From Japan🇯🇵
Thank you for the wonderful post. I love this song. At the time, the three singers were between 15 and 17 years old, and this video shows the song they sang as an encore after a one-man show. I imagine they were very tired after a one-man show that included some intense dancing. (Amazing.) And above all, the backing band, the "KAMI Band" members of that era, were the best. They were all made up of world-class male members, and I think they were the best and strongest. I was so moved that I was in tears.🤩
Good one, thanks.
This footage is from the concert "New Year Fox Festival", held on January 10th, 2015 at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of 20.000+ people.
It was the final encore of the show. Just imagine 90+ minutes of concert entirely performed with this level of energy. It's just epic.
For this video, they decided to keep the actual live audio, just cutting short the majority of the "We are?? BABYMETAL" extensive outro.
About the song itself, Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce collaborated with BABYMETAL, doing the guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio recording.
SU-METAL still remembers this performance and specially the part they walked across the bridge with the crowd singing along as one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem. And you can tell she was on fire, specially during the second half of the song, by her expressions. Not to mention the moment she verbalized it by shouting: "Kakatte koi yaa!" ("Bring it on!").
Answering your question: BABYMETAL are the three ladies. They are backed by a live band, the Kami Band, formed by session musicians. Their deployment, replacing the "babybones", is already explained on the comments of your previous video. The members of the band have never been named officially but the fans quickly found out who they are. The current band, formed by American musicians play with them since 2019 with a minimal rotation (the bassist). They are: Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio (guitars), Clint Tustin / Ryan Neff (bass) and Anthony Barone (drums).
The video you watched is from early 2015 as commented and it features the "classic" (Japanese) line up formed by: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura (guitars), BOH (bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums). Other relevant musicians who were part of the kami band are: Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Isao Fujita (both guitarists).
There are several more but the ones I just mentioned have performed probably more than 95% of the concerts (with a live band).
🤘🦊
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。The crowd involvement (circle pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. This anthemic song was played in their almost every show (either in their headline or in huge festival) The audience reaction is always similar to it in this video.
In your video, Su shouted some words at 08:18 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She has shouted it occasionally since then and when she does, it is with her friendly smile and matured mild voice that I love 😄
Welcome back.🦊You are right, this is speed/power metal (BABYMETAL do every metal genre) - Herman Li and Sam Totman from British speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version.
This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control.
This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world.
About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way.
It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow.
There is no other band quite like BABYMETAL. They pioneered their own new metal sub-genre with their own unique style and they don't follow the "rules" or the same old formats or try to copy how other bands do things. They are both original and unique ... and incredible live performers.
Yes they are the vocalists and, just like the vocalists with most of those other bands, they don't play the instruments. Those other band's vocalist may run and jump about of course, but none of them do a full interpretive choreo that is also designed to involve and include the crowd for every song.
I see road-runner has recapped what you were previously told about the Kami Band in his comment below so I'll save you another repeat of that.
My suggestion for another reaction would be a newer song so you can see what they have become - something completely different
'Monochrome' live at PIA Arena April 2023.

Babymetal es el Godzilla del metal japones 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Slightly out of sync, but a classic performance. Kami Band (East- white makeup ) play live, now they use (West- masked) Kami band. Early skeleton band was just mimicking playing.

The not so Extensive Guide to BABYMETAL (April 1st 2024)
Good reaction! And a great performance. Su-Metal on fire, Yuimetal and Moametal leading the whole crowd on their own for a few moments, the musicians playing with all their heart...
Yeah, the "Kami Band" are a bunch of session musicians, and all of them are top notch. They performed depending on their availability. There´s a core of members, tho, who did the majority of all BABYMETAL performances until the introduction of the second "Kami Band". road-runner gave you the names of the second Kami Band members. The members of the Kami Band (I believe this applies to the members of BOTH Kami Bands) deeply respect the girls for the hard work they´re doing, for their persistance, their professionality, their spirit... and the Japanese Kamis are very thankful to the girls, as these girls gave them the opportunity to go out to the world, to play music they love to audiences in many different countries. BOH expressed this during a Zoom session interview he gave to somebody.
jakemuller8626 gave you the names of the musicians playing at this performance already. Additionally, there was Mikio Fujioka, a GREAT guitarist, who died in 2018. He played at the concert "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" together with Leda Cygnus, BOH (did you notice the phantastic bass lines he played? He´s the god of bass 😉) and Hideki Aoyama. The "Legend 1997" concert is the one the official video to "Gimme Chocolate!!" was taken from, and where the Kami Band performed live for the 5 song encore. You could do
- Headbanger from the "Legend 1997" concert next, to see (and listen to) him playing.
ISAO (Isao Fujita) is another great guitarist of the "Kami Band" who performed relatively often. You might see him from time to time, depending on the concert you choose a live performance from.
Man, I watched this very performance of Road Of Resistance that often, that I immediately noticed the lag between the video and the audio 🤣 Nonetheless, I could watch it all over again. It never gets boring, to the contrary. It´s timelessly EPIC!
Your thumbnail title is wrong: it's "Road OF Resistance" not "TO".
Thanks, i just corrected it!
"Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational BABYMETAL!" 🦊🦊🦊 🖖❤

If you're going to react to videos then learn how to correctly upload videos. The music and vocals of the BM video are 2 seconds out of sequence. It's so distracting. And NO, it's not the source video. And if you're going to pause at least have the decency to rewind a bit before resuming because you paused right in the middle of Su singing every time. So disrespectful.
