Aim your headlights AT LEAST once a year and ALWAYS after replacing the bulbs.
If the cutoff is bad or you can’t aim them accurately or the light output scatters, it is NOT safe to use. Try a different style of LED or one with a lower output that will be more compatible with your light housing. See my other videos for more reviews.
When I use the word “headlights”, I am referring to legal off-road use or fog light use only as replacing factory halogen bulbs with LEDs for headlights in the US is not currently legal nor a DOT approved practice. This video is only for informational purposes for using LED lights legally. Check your local laws and regulations.

Great review have decided to go with these in my H4 reflectors but as my car also has a H1 high beam reflector do you have any recommendations for that? It doesn't look like you can get the F22 IN H1
I just put in today after your review, and WOW you are correct. I used these to replace an older LED headlight that I had installed that had started failing and getting dim. Well installing these made everything musch better than when the old LEDs were installed as new. The lights have a slight tinge of yellow, though I think that would be helpful in badweather. Thanks again for your review.
The yellowish color tpu see is because of your headlight housing lens/projector. If they are worn down a little it will effect the color of the led bulb.
@wahidjavid51 Thanks. The color difference was noticed when compared with the previous LED bulb (seemed whiter at 6000k) that was in the same housing. Again, the difference is very minimal, and it is subjective. I have been using now for almost a week and I am very happy with them and would recommend.
@erichoward5565 ok i see. I just got mine yesterday and will install them later today. Ive been using auxito bulbs for my whole car inside and out. Lets see how better these are or not.
These are in my Truck and my car. They are pretty amazing for the price. They are even brighter than my GTR Ultra II. I have their lightbar that makes night turn into daylight.

I think I know what you are referring to...and make no mistake, they are good guys (I know some of them). But indeed, I don't sell anything and I don't provide anything other than the facts that my data shows, along with my personal opinion based on that and that alone.
Using these on my son's 99 Tahoe and what a difference. They could work on their locking mech a bit but overall very very happy. Thanks again!
After buying Novsight N60's having done a deep dive into provided data sheet you provide for a vehicle with projectors, i went ahead and bought these for vehicle with reflector headlights. They are phoenominal lights and i would recomend. However i am currently waiting on them to get back to me on replacing a bulb for the 2nd time since i've bought these in March. One of the original bulbs did not work whatsoever. Polarity being correct and even using a decoder they recomended. They did send me a new pair and i sent those originally purchased back. They worked perfectly until today when one of the bulbs is no longer working. The lights perform great and your particular situation may differ in what you put them in amongst other things so your results may differ.
Wish these had a drl function, just put them into my 2023 crosstrek high beam, but they flicker in drl mode, just ordered their anti flicker module, so we'll see.
This reflector light output is very interesting. I'm trying to find a good bulb for my 2021 4Runner TRD Pro for the reflector (with my quad high beam setup). The 2021 4Runner TRD Pro reflector housing seems different from the other trims reflector setup as when I try some LEDs the beam pattern was not good. I know my case is a special case and almost no one would use. I guess I will go through your previous videos and see how the reflector pattern is on different bulbs rather than focusing on the LUX numbers.
As a fellow yota owner I say this. You may have to get these or similar as they allow adjustment. you have to aim the bulb by rotating the bulb BEFOREHAND. pay attention to where original bulb filament aims and copy that to the led bulb housing. Next adjustment required is to the headlight housing, as it now may blind others so adjust properly or have some help.
I do this using the method in my car handbook, which is 30 ft away, level ground light should cut off at 3.5 ft.from ground. Trucks are different so just use this as a reference. Need more help, Look up body shops as they have manuals on how to aim housing and y'know, give a few dollars , they may do it for ya.

Yes, I used to mention the size of the fan/heat sink and for some reason I forgot to in my more recent videos. I will be sure to include that as well as driver size in my future videos.

If it looks like it has a magnifying lens in front of the bulb, it is a projector. If it looks like is has curved mirror with ridges behind it, it is a reflector. You can see examples here: carlightreviews.com/headlighttestmethod

So what do I have to look for when picking an led bulb for a projector housing as far as the physical design of the led bulb is concerned ?
The important part is that the LED emitter replicates the size, shape, and position of the halogen filament as closely as possible. Otherwise, ensure that if you have dust caps that it can fit under them, and if it has an external driver (which is better for heat as well as brightness) that it can also fit under the dust cap.
It would be awesome and tremendously useful if you did a comparison between LED & HID!
I'll save you some time: HID used to be better than LED, now it's the other way around (provided you compare high-quality LED bulbs to high-quality HID bulbs and ballasts). HID draws more power, and they are generally more expensive than LEDs. HIDs are better in terms of colour temperature as you have more variety, whereas almost all LEDs are ~6000k.

@@gusalejandro7776 Power is nothing without control, which means that an HID bulb will have a more consistent beam pattern than LED bulbs because LED bulbs are all made a bit differently. Assuming you compared an HID bulb with a 55w ballast to a top-teir LED bulb, in most cases the LED will be brighter, but not always.

How do you know if your vehicle is a reflector type? my 97 k1500 should be i suppose
Easy! Basically, reflector looks like a chrome bowl with ridges behind the bulb. Projector looks like a magnifying lens in front of the bulb.

Im looking to replace the H4 bulbs in my Subaru. Any thoughts on how these would do? The LED's i have in there currently claim to have been 5000 lumens. Unfortunately one of the bulbs went out and they are past the 2 year warranty that they came with. I can get replacements here locally from the same guy for $90, and they are a new style with 6000lumes each. Anyone run these in a vehicle using the H4 bulb style?
I haven't done any dual bulb tests at this time. However, I am told that it is not unreasonable to expect similar performance as tested in the H11s that I use.
Do you think it will need a CanBus even though it built tin driver?
That depends on the vehicle.

It is a great light. Beam pattern. Light output. Everything is great.
The only problem is... READY?! ...I am currently on my 4TH PAIR OF F16 PLUS.
Price is great. Quality is great but I can't seem to solve the issue of the f16s burning out over time.
I drive a 2017 chevy colorado z71 with projector headlights. My 9006 low beams burn out after about 6-8 months. But the performance of them was so great I kept trying to replace them trying different methods. First 2 pairs... first pair I thought were defective. Replaced them. 2nd pair burnt out. I drew the conclusion too they get to hot with the dust caps. 3rd Pair eventually burnt out. Now my 4th pair is going bad as well. Both 3rd and 4th pairs were run entirely without dust caps. And iv drown the conclusion that the f16 plus just runs too hot for they're own good. So researching new headlights I came across your videos. GREAT REVIEWS and you pay very close attention to details I love it. But I'm trying to draw a comparison in heat management between the f16s and everything else. 😅 im debating on spending the extra money on the GX series. Being that they are most likely BRIGHTER then the f16s. But I'm worried I'm just going to be running into the same issue as the f16s blowing out after 6-8 months. Or maybe even sooner since the gx is even more powerful and brighter. Please respond if you read this and let me know what you recommend. I know I should run around without dustcaps. But so far after 2 yrs I haven't had any issues with dust or water getting in my housings. But please help me find a solution to my issues thank you! 😊
The F16 plus is a rather old product, you might want to try something newer which might solve your issue. Sometimes, some vehicles just don't like certain LED upgrades. However, did you reach out to Auxbeam to see about the issue you have? Sounds like every time you are within the warranty period.
Sadly I was ordering them through Amazon! So the warranty didn't apply really. The first 2 pairs Amazon luckily replaced for a cheaper price tag. But after the 3rd time it wasn't even worth the tune spent on the phone with them. So I just started paying full price. But I'm definitely considering the gx. Might as well try my luck!

please try the Philips ultinon pro9000 it's a bit expensive but it is the best led for beam pattern

How is the spreadsheet organized ? 1 being the brightest overall ? And like 50 being the weakest ? How are they categorized
Currently, it is sorted by video release date, descending oldest to newest. However, I am thinking of reversing it and putting the newest on top.

The amount of decline in output after 27 minutes shown in your spreadsheet is useful data that I haven't seen in other tests. Have you tested output on any of these LED's beyond that point, as you'd see on a long trip at night? Does it stop declining at some point? Is it a function of the unit getting hotter the longer it runs? Thanks for the work you do.
Yes, they almost always stop declining after anywhere from a few minutes to 15-20 minutes, depending on the quality of the light. It is indeed the system regulating the power to mitigate heat. Better quality lights do a better job of that while keeping brightness. Cheap components need to be diimmed a lot more because they cannot handle the heat.

Did you mean people claiming H9 halogen far better than any LED? If so I'm waiting for that test too. Many in 4Runner forums claim that H9s have better usable light output than H11 LEDs.

If they make them in your vehicles size, they should work. Remove the existing bulb from your vehicle and read the marking on it, or check your owners manual. That will tell you what size bulb you need.

Using Novsight N 52 after I saw in your channel that it draws 40 watt . But in reality it only draws 32 watt , so less power . I'm confused whether to trust your channel blindly.
You are comparing to published watts to actual watts. They are almost always different. Volts X Amps = Watts. If you don't believe me, you can test them yourself by using the same power supply that I do: amzn.to/3K9AdCx
@@CarLightReviews published watt is 50, your channel showed 40.I Tested it myself using volt vs watt formula, it came out 32.Verified with halogen bulbs with 35 , 55 watts(matching with my calculation with same multimeter, with slight negligible deviation). Take this as a constructive criticism, recheck yourself with Halogen bulbs.

@@CarLightReviews I wish you are right, maybe the product I got are low quality ( Chinese 😜😜😜, but I bought directly from Novsight). For verification please try with 2-3 brands of Halogen bulbs. I also used Osram 25 watts led ( Also made in China, and stamped on the current controller box), my calculation showed it 23.5 watts. Next I will be buying the recently launched Osram 50 watts . I really appreciate the way you test and try to be perfect 👍👍👍.
