Adam Daniel Kinzinger a Republican former representative from Illinois gave a great speech in expressing his belief that Donald Trump has suffocated the soul of the Republican Party. Democrats as patriotic as conservatives. Kinzinger said the Republican party is no longer conservative as it follows Trump. He also called Trump weak, small and faithless. I agree this was a one of best Democratic National Convention that I watched!

Democrats are very smart to humanize Kamala and Tim and show their connection to people around them, as a stark contrast to Trump, who treats everybody like a business transaction.

Totally agree with you about the convention. The production value is crazy!

Thank you both. I had a similar response to the convention. If a Speech pathologist took a language sample from Trump’s speech-any of his recent speeches, i believe they would find some form of pathology. There are few true sentences and the content makes little sence. This aside from the obvious personality disorder(s). I was really impressed with having Republicans step up to speak truth.

I am enthusiastic about Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Kamala has risen to the challenge of being presidential candidate (particularly, as Chris notes, given her lackluster performance in the 2020 campaign). As a Californian, I followed her career for the past decade and I’ve come away within an overall positive impression. In addition as vice president she has gained a lot of relevant experience over the past four years. I have no doubt that she is prepared to be president. The real surprise to me is Tim Walz. Three weeks ago I literally knew nothing about the man and now I’m ready to walk on red hot coals for him. Politics is such a rough and cynical game it’s amazing when you run into someone as thoroughly decent and normal as this guy.

I'm just praying, and I mean praying this isn't like Obama in 2008 when he basically sided with the banks and procrastinated codifying abortion rights into law. I'm a bit jaded at this point but maybe it will be different this time.

    • @paulanderson2963
      @paulanderson2963 20 днів тому

      It won't.
All of these politicians regardless of party affiliation function within a corrupt system governed by greed and corporate interests. Nothing will be different simply because change is not allowed. There will be no incentive for change as long as big money funds your government.
The government is supposed to be employed by the people but if your biggest paycheck comes from big business then who to you think they will answer to?
People are looking for hope and leadership in individuals who are already lost to this system.
Change is going to have to come from outside of the government.
Anyone entering that system thinking they can make a difference will eventually be absorbed and do it's bidding.
A lot of the people can't see it because it's hard to be objective about the system and country you spent your whole life growing up in. I mean it's the only reality they know.
Half the people were taught that Blue is good and Red is bad and the other half visa versa.
All the while regardless of who was running what and when policies were being put in place to shift power to the wealthy.
One thing I would like people to keep in mind is that many of these same politicians are akin to actors and performers.
They are very good at making people feel what they want them to feel and have no problem telling the masses exactly what they want to
They are "handling" and "managing" the population to maintain a certain social order.
They are not your friends and they don't actually care about you or your family.
Why should they? They don't personally know you, your issues and the things that affect the average person don't affect them.
If any of these parties cared about the population they would stop investing the majority of the tax dollars into military spending and reinvest in infrastructure and civil projects.
War is lucrative and the companies that profit off it own your supposed representatives.
Sorry for the rant, it's not aimed at you directly, it's just that I feel sad seeing people(not the OP specifically) placing their future hopes in the hands of a bunch of actors and circus performers.

I would say Trump has some form of dementia after listening to many of the speeches. Frankly, I’m surprised that Trump didn’t pick Hannibal Lecter as his running mate😂. The DNC definitely has everyone fired up.. Vote 🗳️💙. I really want to see Trump’s face after he loses the election hugely🤣👏

Being from India, I can tell u that traditionally arranged marriage was parents made who their kids were going to marry. Both parents got together and were in agreement. However, as with anything else some abused this type of arrangement and sold their daughters for money. Needless to say, arrangement still occurs but not to high degree mostly due to education

Hi Chris thanks for your video. You mentioned about a few months back in the video when trump did not go to any of the debate but was nominated for GOP candidate, there should be a rule for that . Can you share your take comparing to Harris did not go through the debate/primary process just in general. And how is that compared to Vance, who you mentioned was picked by the tech industry, and bought and paid for. How is that compared to Harris, is she selected by certain group instead of people elected? Since she was picked as VP by Biden, now picked as his backup. Thanks

Trump's mental decline is shown by him remembering mostly decades old stuff, like Hannibal movie. But also by his usage of replacement words that sound or are close synonyms ackwardly.
Trump auto [in]correcting mode would be a great political ad: "Hey, Truth/Trump AI, how you describe origins of ..." etc.

I was stunned and impressed of what a great speech Kamala Harris gave. I also liked the speech Tim Walz gave. I did not see all the speeches but Barack and Michelle Obama gave great speeches as well. President Biden gave a decent speech but you could tell he was definitely up there in age.
MSNBC did a comparison of speech clips between Harris and Trump where Harris was talking about positive things while Trump was all doom and gloom.

Politics is a very touchy subject to talk about for me. I live in Oregon and of course we are heavily democrat . I’m not a fan of both candidates, I tend to agree with most of the republicans policies. Both candidates are putting on a show. There are a lot of work to be done, lets get along and make America great again by guiding future generations

18:45 The actress was Kerri Washington.
I watched all the days. I have some mixed feelings b/c I am happy Democrats are finally on the offensive and finally not acting like total corporate neoliberals (to use the cliche) etc but I am also just worried our foreign policy will be as lousy as usual.
I am kind of a center-left person. I'd like to think I'm progressive but sometimes they leave me behind, like it's all too much focus on inclusion and cultural diversions when we seriously need to confront plastic pollution and overshoot of Earth resources (as an example) and continue to help people become Energy aware (as opposed to energy blind). I am sorry people are trolls and we can't just all enjoy rights and we still are battling over stupid stuff like birth control and gender etc.
I appreciate the vibe and I know many never Trumpers like on the Bulwark channel did not like the DJ during the States rollcall, and all the fun but I liked all the fun. I thought the DNC captured a snapshot of where the culture is now. The Dems seemed to understand the moment, that this is when finally a lot of apolitical and otherwise too-busy people are tuning in, that it's all about visual and aural stimulation and engagement. I also really liked the shedding of the politicians having to wear red, white or blue onstage, people wore what they wanted, there was a variety in the colours of the clothing.
I also really really liked the Dems reclaiming patriotism. Every 4th of July for 30 years a group of friends and I have been throwing a gigantic softball game slash DJ'd picnic party in San Francisco, and we are always very patriotic doing the National Anthem, and Pledge of Allegiance, and one year I read the Declaration Of Independence on a freezing windy foggy day into a microphone to a bunch of partying people, total blast (if boggy in that boring part). People show up in costumes and red white and blue etc but our patritism is tongue in cheek and fun, but sincere, it's twisted cuz it's San Francisco! haha But yah, I'm so pleased (if again put off by our overreactionary tendencies in our foreign policy) we can fly flags and wear camo and not be presumed to be Republicans.
Just some thoughts! Since you asked hahah! Cheers.

We can all be patriotic in USA :) These are complicated topics of course. I think you will appreciate my next video as I go over an issue that is important to me and why. You will see it has little to do with the nonsense culture war stuff that dominates US politics as you mention.
