No testing , no playing around and even not information about some of mechanics , still people manage to calculate every single build for new chieftain and make conclusion that is suck. Gues PoE players are some megamind intelligent alliens after all.
Would a Spell Totem using RF in combination with Arhongui heal you? It says damage taken, not damage taken from hits. Or does recoup only work in conjunction with hits?
These are both... nerfs? What were they thinking with this? After how good trickster was i thought they'd figured out how to design good ascendencies...
Im pretty sure we are missing something when it comes to the Ramako node. Note that it doesn't say IGNORE, like it does with divine judgement. It simply says that enemies have NO fire resistance, wich could imply that being nearby sets the fire res at 0 and from that you could further modify it to go much harder into the negatives. But still, there's alot about the patch we don't know and there might be some changes to the game wich might justify the changes to Chieftain/Guardian.
The wording is almost the same as Original Sin and that work as setting enenemies to 0 regardless of how high or low the resistance of the enemy are. I hope is like you said since it makes no sense to work like Original Sin since Dots can't use pen and use curses a lot to gain dmg.
Chieftain is a huge fucking nerf imo They took out everything and replaced it all with garbage that nobody asked or needed, the only exception maybe on the chieftain is maybe tasalio or valako but if those are the only 2 good ones why would anybody even bother to play chieftain anymore when they could just steal it with the forbidden jewels such a fucking let down
Chieftain is actually looking very "creative." Pair the free cold/lightning res nodes with the new unique chest that gives 1000% increased maximum life, and you can essentially start using "bad" uniques and have a solid build. Purity of Fire, Anger, and aura effect would give you 90 max resists, and 250-500 base fire damage to use on any weak unique weapon. I could see a lot very experimental unique-only builds or damage-only rare builds actually doing well on chieftain.
i really wanna know has tawhoa forest strength the same cool down like the old note, if it has no or less cd than it can be really strong with strike skills . if not maybe a fun slow attack heavy strike xD
Tawhoa's Chosen in its current state is terrible. It uses your skill, but isn't you, so it cannot Exert OR use Fist of War, and has a 2 second cooldown. Unless they changed the actual skill then they just brought over the worst node from the old Chieftain and made you path through it to get to the only ok damage node on the new Chieftain lol
Not a single node for Fire Reap there now. Fire reap doesnt care about max cold or lightning res, it doesnt care about neither DOT or 7-L slam\attack supports. Chief actually has literally zero good nodes for Fire Reap anymore, so I guess we have to build Fire Reap elsewhere. Templar is kinda okay for that I guess.
Offense comes from all the open suffixes you have to put essence crafts and influences modifiers on I guess. Shield and rings with crazy influenced mods, or a hungry loop. I feel like trickster doesn't really need offensive from it's ascendance as well.
I`m thinkingg to start with forbidden rite totems on Chieftain. New totem node looks very promissing for a strong healing from totems self damage. Valako ofcourse and I still have one more node to pick. Any ideas?
I wonder if Ramako's wording actually means their resist starts at 0 instead of any positive number and then you can reduce it from there with curses and the usual.
@@gampie13 I mean phys mitigation can easily done with change phys>elemental, and determination+chaos golem would be enough for most content. For chaos res, getting 75-80 chaos res is easy too. No testing , no playing around and even not information about some of mechanics , still people manage to calculate every single build for new chieftain and make conclusion that is suck. Gues PoE players are some megamind intelligent alliens after all.
i rly dont loke both changes, it took the core part, why i loved guardian, and all the power from chieftan. RIP :(
its ok tectonic slam 100% play . :)
Would a Spell Totem using RF in combination with Arhongui heal you? It says damage taken, not damage taken from hits. Or does recoup only work in conjunction with hits?
Recoup is already bound to hits
Forbidden Rite totems should heal you with it.
rf no, but forbidden rite yes!
Wanted to play Chieftain next league =) now i don't.
best way to play chief now is to play zerk and pick forbidden with tukohama for extra link xD
5% explode for Vaal breach something idk. Chieftain looks bad.
If it is implemented like that its kinda broken
The wording is almost the same as Original Sin and that work as setting enenemies to 0 regardless of how high or low the resistance of the enemy are. I hope is like you said since it makes no sense to work like Original Sin since Dots can't use pen and use curses a lot to gain dmg.
If they have no resistance you cannot penetrate their resistances
@@clyp3016 You can't penetrate with Damage over time anyways, penetration is for hits only.
GUARDIAN got fk hard
recovery is bad when u dont get hit guys .. its good for us
Chieftain is a huge fucking nerf imo
They took out everything and replaced it all with garbage that nobody asked or needed, the only exception maybe on the chieftain is maybe tasalio or valako but if those are the only 2 good ones why would anybody even bother to play chieftain anymore when they could just steal it with the forbidden jewels
such a fucking let down
I have a feeling that they will change the mechanism of Tawhoa’s chosen since they knew it didn’t work with the fist of war.
Yes if they dont make Tawhoa work with fist of war that would be such a massive fail, i cant imagine they would be that dumb.
@@timmanson8498 yup. If they make them work together im quite excited to play melee slam or strike build
@@jimmychoi1520 Yep for sure.
its ggg i think they wont
No. As well as Ancesteral call doesn`t work with slams. You can`s choose both, that is the point.
Why 7-link with tukohama? It seems to me that a 6-link chest + the 2 specified supports would yield an 8-link ... am i getting this wrong?
fist of war only supports slams, ancestral call only supports strikes. no skill can utilize both meaning its essentially a 7 link
@@albobds6711 That makes sense! Thanks!
both look like nerfs to me
I dont get what this new chieftain supposed to be.
He already had bad class identity, but these changes ruin even that.
If it’s 500% chance to explode for 5% damage it’s still better than 5% chance for 500% damage 😂
I really feel like it's just 400 IQ build planning for output on par with something that's 200x easier to gear, plan and play
@@Intestine_Ballin-ism That complexity hasn't stopped Wardloop from existing with very specific thresholds and online calculators
@@pierreapascale2203 ayy nice to see Heartbound Loop/CWDT is still broken (not nice, I'm being cynical)
@@pierreapascale2203 wardloop does good damage, chieftain won't
@@3crzfltoo soon to judge
unless my math defies me, 6+2 is 8 no? Chieftain gives an 8link, not a 7link
Both of the supports support different archetypes of melee. One support strike skills and the other slams skills. So the node only gives 1 support.
@@reninngun ah thanks, was actually clueless 2nd one doesnt work on strikes mb
bro why you deleted last vod. I had to watch the race on alkaiser stream instead
i really wanna know has tawhoa forest strength the same cool down like the old note, if it has no or less cd than it can be really strong with strike skills . if not maybe a fun slow attack heavy strike xD
Both are so bad..
dat logo
Tawhoa's Chosen in its current state is terrible. It uses your skill, but isn't you, so it cannot Exert OR use Fist of War, and has a 2 second cooldown. Unless they changed the actual skill then they just brought over the worst node from the old Chieftain and made you path through it to get to the only ok damage node on the new Chieftain lol
Their attack will exerted
@@ashton35 No, currently Tawhoa cannot exert attacks.
Has this killed Fire Reap completely ?
Completely? Certainly not, but much weaker.
Templar is kinda okay for that I guess.
elem or inquisitor for your fire reap needs now.
@@eugelmusic RIP, hopefully with Sanc coming back Orginial Sin Reap is the way to go now
@@xAnimeID yea
Chieftain got great defences and basically 0 damage in ascendancy.
So in what case that damage can be covered using Gear/skill tree?
it lost phys mitigation, and you still need to also cover chaos, so it's just a pure loss overall
@@gampie13 I mean phys mitigation can easily done with change phys>elemental, and determination+chaos golem would be enough for most content.
For chaos res, getting 75-80 chaos res is easy too.
Ofcourse if we talk about ubers content it would be fallen behind.
But for starter build that defences is sufficient. I think
Reacts for reacts for reacts?)
Seeing how bad the changes have been since they have been lying to us saying how POE2 was going to fix everything I have zero faith that they can keep up successful leagues for 2 separate games...Out of the last 4 ascendancy re-works 1 of them has been good
Does ramako's from chieftain work for bow ignite builds, but played in a way like bleed bow, with a big fire hit and stacked damage over time mods?? Or conversion from phys to fire
Chieftain's rework is a total misunderstanding. It's definitely a nerf in many ways.
Guardian's rework is kinda OK.
There's a lot of effective "more" damage on offer here. Obviously with caveats, but:
Ancestral call 30 is 10% more (and double strike).
Fist of war 20 is 98% more (+ AoE and on cooldown)
Tawhoa's Chosen is ~100% more.
round out the build with ngamahu to optimise the base hit. might be something with fissure or tectonic
funny that you have to sustain endurance charges for tectonic slam now
Not exactly, because chances are, you would be running those supports in your original 6L if they were one of your best support. That’s why Ben says at best this adds in your 7th best link which is where that roughly 24% More damage comes from I.e you’d be removing your already socketed lv 20 Fist of War for another support, not adding Fist of War in
@@TheBIindReaper yeah that's the caveats.
None will play chieftain 😢
