Love these tips, especially of viewing activities as play vs work (similar to gamification too). I see this question often from beginning artists (especially teens who already have school/college/etc. on their minds). I've thought about doing a video on it myself. Some tips that helped me: - Resting or playing (gaming, time with family, etc.) is still productive. Don't excuse these as unnecessary or unproductive activities. They're still needed, not only to prevent burnout, but to maintain your own health. - Spending less time on the tedious/less interesting parts is always worth it, whether it be with add-ons, extra apps, or existing assets. Even if it means extra effort setting it up, or money to buy it. It'll keep you focused (since the less interesting stuff is gone) and work faster. - As you said, it's harder to work if it isn't interesting or "playtime" for you. On the other end, I used to say, "I can't have burnout, I'm playing" 😆😅 switching tasks regularly and spacing things out helps. - my best/most persistent habits were done daily. - I've learned to accept that I _will_ hate a project at times. Sometimes one step is really tedious or discouraging that can't be avoided. That doesn't mean the project is worth throwing out altogether. Give yourself a little time to just push through some things, see where it takes you. A project feels most rewarding at the end, not the beginning.
