I'm a Ducati owner, really proud of my 1199 Panigale with the powerfull Superquadro L-Twin engine (195 hp...), but I admit this bike is stunnig, gorgeous, wonderful!! Simply it's a beast.

lithium battery is lithium battery nothing else. KTM doesn't make their own batteries. I can buy those from amazon and you can too. It's better than your car because you're car isn't a hypercar that costs a million dollars.
Also 1:1 weight ratio is achieved by all the track only super sports like the bmw hp4 and ducati's superllegera.

Also ktm 1290's before this had the lithium batteries too.
The new model isn't worth switching to. Also for the price you are much better off with the normal model and modifying it by yourself.

You just couldn't make it more powerful , so you made it light. There is only so much you can get out of a V-Twin.
I ask you, do you even use the full power of your 300bhp+ inline 4 or v4? And if you want to use its full power and you live in the city, is it even useful? For everyday ride, average fun, and acceleration, torque is always wins over power. You don't need 350km/h+ on the street unless you're doing track.
200bhp+ is already too much to squeeze all of its power. Everyday rides only use 150-180. 200 isn't uncomfortable at all, you need some serious road.

KTM just keeps breaking my heart... this thing isn't available in the US, but even worse, it's not as good as my 2019 model. I put 20k into my SDR last year, trying to make my own "RR" version: carbon fiber rims, all carbon body work, full akra w/ PC3 tune + rottweiler airbox along with every orange anodized KTM powerpart available.
My bike costs less than this, weighs less than this, and puts down more power than this...

The bike looks amazing, but man that rear exhaust looks bad... they could have done something slimer, something that looks badass instead of the big generic looking thing... I'm sure you can save another 1kg by installing a smaller slicker one.

You probably won't ever see a liter bike RC bike again. They discontinued the rc8 because nobody really buys brand new supersports anymore, the market is dominated by street fighters and nakeds. Unless that changes, you won't see one any time soon. Dont you think they would of improved on the rc8 or made a successor to it if supersports were the way naked bikes are selling right now?

The press release indicated 500 but left the impression that this was the worldwide number, and the first batch of deposits would be collected in Europe. My local salesman doesn’t know anything about US availability, but for other recent models (SAS, SAR), it appears we are getting those later than Europe too.
My dealer told me none for US. Offered to build one with the parts from the KTM powerpart catalogue
