It may be not be obvious but Nadya has an awful lot of love and sadness in her. I hope she keeps well. She and her colleagues are the beating heart today of the punk movement that I grew up with 40+ years ago. ❤
My love is now for the people in Russia who fear for everything in their lives when they simply feel something against the evil goings on in the world. I love you and please don't give up on your hearts, feelings and beliefs. I know in my heart and soul that you all will see the day when you will find freedom to act and speak as you want to. My prayers are with you 🇷🇺❤
I know not a single person in Russia who supports Putin or this war. I remember back when you all did the “punk prayer” I said this is massive, this is the CRASS of our moment! My gf was terrified and we had the conversation about direct action the context of Russia vs where Im from and I started to understand where the whole “depoliticized” mentality and apathy originated. This was then, since then it has only got worse as the old guard clings to power fearful of change. I get the not wanting to give in to Wester encroachment and the interest in security because I grew to love many things about Russian difference but BUT this is about using old stale tricks to achieve temporary prolonging of power and resources for a criminal class that doesn’t want to end up in prison and they don’t care how many people they kill in the process of holding onto their gold plated chairs.
That said there is a rebellion in Russia and all is not futile and pointless. It is worth noting Russia has a significant number of folks who are fed up but like Nadya says, we will not see them unmasked and we won’t see them masked because masks are banned. This is way past the time where protests make any difference aside from pointing out to the regime which people to target. Folks be giving light 🔥 to many many crucial tools of the tERRORist fascist propaganda regime. Such as the SU-27 lit up in Vladivostok 2 days ago. 💥
Do you know a single person in Russia? Putin and his "special operation" is widely supported. Criticisms have been mainly about the inefficiencies of the Russian military. Not the morality of the invasion.
ABOUT THE BOOK “Read & Riot: A Pussy Riot Guide to Activism.” Maria Alyokhina's riveting account of her years in Russia’s criminal system and of finding power in the most powerless of situations. Nadya’s ten rules for revolution: Be a pirate! Make your government shit its pants! Take back the joy! In February 2012 Pussy Riot performed a "punk prayer", taking on the Orthodox church and its support for Vladimir Putin’s authoritarian regime. For this, they were charged with "organized hooliganism". That trial became an international cause. August 17 2012, Tolokonnikova, and co-members Maria Alyokhina & Yekaterina Samutsevich, were convicted of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred and sentenced to two year imprisonment, Alyokhina's two-year sentence launched a bitter struggle against the Russian prison system and an iron-willed refusal to be deprived of her humanity. After activating a hunger strike protesting savage prison conditions, she was sent to a Siberian penal colony. A guerrilla guide to radical protest and joyful political resistance by artist, activist, and Pussy Riot founder The face of modern protest is wearing a brightly colored ski mask. Nadya is a creative activist, professional protestor, brazen feminist, shocking visual artist, and force to be reckoned with. Her spontaneous, explosive approach to political action has involved jumping over barbed wire, kissing police officers, giving guerilla performances in crowded subway cars, and going on a hunger strike to protest the abuse of prisoners. She’s been horse-whipped by police in Sochi, temporarily blinded when officers threw green paint in her eyes, and monitored by the Russian government. With her emblematic ski mask, black lipstick, and unwavering bravery, Nadya has become an emissary of hope and optimism despite overwhelming and ugly political corruption.
It's crucial to acknowledge the complexities of international relations and not fall into the trap of blindly following any entity, be it a political leader or a rock band. While it's clear that Putin's actions have often been detrimental and oppressive, it doesn't automatically mean that we should align ourselves with any group that opposes him, especially if that group has its own agenda or biases. It's understandable to find common ground with Putin's adversaries when their interests align with ours, but it's essential to maintain critical thinking and not succumb to blindly following any narrative, especially if it's fueled by propaganda or backed by organizations like the CIA. Taking a nuanced approach to global affairs involves assessing each situation independently and considering multiple perspectives before drawing conclusions or taking action.

Brave lady. I applaud her courage on behalf of her people.
Thank you for mentioning that leaving the country is not available for everyone!
Thank you for posting this.
Thank you. Americans needing a reminder why the Bill of Rights is so important should watch this.
Is that why USA wants to put J. Assange away, because the First Amendment of Bill of Rights is so important in USA?😂😂😂
How hypocritical you all are

Unfortunately I know horrible Russian people who actually root for Putin, but I also know a lot of them don't.
А я знаю много кого, кто поддерживает эту войну и их большинство, а кто нет либо жестокие твари либо наивные мыши, которым покатались по ушам.
