Loverboy had released "Loving Every Minute of It" a little earlier but about the same time and you couldn't go into an arcade without a song from one of these albums playing in the background. Good times.
This song was written about his relationship with actress Diane Lane. He wasn’t into her game playing and he was fed up with the Hollywood scene He went home and ended up marrying his high school sweetheart in 1989, they have 4 kids and still very much in love with another.
A huge part of the concerts being awesome in the 80's was no phones. Everyone was focused on either the band, or each other enjoying the band, but there was no time spent prepping software or recording the event for later, in any way shape or form. All attention was on the present moment, and none on how it looked to others now or later.

Thin Lizzy, that`s a band I wish I had seen live. The boys are back in town rocks! Parisienne walkways is bluesy, with a brilliant guitar solo. I`ve never seen a review of them. Parisienne walkways is by Garry Moore and Phil Lynnot, half of Thin Lizzy.
There's a reason why Bon Jovi's 'Slippery when wet' album from 1986 is a massive classic hit - 7 million copies in the US alone... a global hit. 'Let it rock' ... 'Social disease' ... 'Wanted dead or alive' ...🔥🔥🔥xcellent songs! Bon Jovi's 'New Jersey' album in 1988 was another major hit. Songs like - 'Bad medicine' ... 'Lay your hands on me'... 🔥
John Bon Jovi is from my home state of New Jersey in 1984 I worked at Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park. One of the perks you got to see concerts for free.. I saw this up and coming band played there called Bon Jovi for free.. The rest is history
I used to remember going to the Denver Nuggets home games in the mid 2000's and our group would always scream Shot To The Heart... at Jon Bon Jovi who was usually seated across the court.
I remember when Bon Jovi played a free concert at Pioneer Courthouse Square in DownTown Portland, Oregon, back in the mid 90's. It was never announced ahead of time that they were coming, they just showed up in the middle of a sunny summer day out of the blue, set up, and started playing.
This and livin on a prayer were 2 of my fave songs in 1986. I would listen to local rock station for HOURS each weekend hoping to record them on my cassette boom box. Good memories
Actually holds up pretty wall. Was never a huge fan, but saw them at Farm Aid 1985. That line-up was LOADED. The acts that stood our for me were Bob Dylan and Lou Reed, but Billy Joel, Foreigner, Johnny Cash, B.B. King and many others were there. Amazing day
I see Bon Jovi I click! Hey guys react to Bed Of Roses, Wanted Dead Or Alive, I’ll Be There For, Keep The Faith and In These Arms! The lead singer Jon Bon Jovi has been married to his high school sweetheart all these years, he and his wife has 3 soup kitchens that they’ve had for years in there local community and they work in them! He does charity work and is the real deal good man! More Bon Jovi, have to go down that rabbit hole🤟🎶🥰🙌The music 🎶 video for this is fun to watch but most of there official videos are guys, wish you had watch the official video!
It was the first show I ever bought tickets for with my own money. Cinderella opened. (You should react to 'Nobody's Fool, btw) That was a fun night. Also, just wanted to say that you two are a good tandem for reactions. Lex wears her emotion on her face with that genuine smile. Brad keeps it cool with that sway of his but you can tell when his reaction is like Lex on the inside.
That was their headline tour, right? I saw them opening up for .38 Special a few months earlier. Then they came back around with Cinderella opening for them.
Man, I was SUCH A VIRGIN when I liked this song. I would play this whole album, walk around, and not f. Now I get so much p, I kind of feel bad about it. But this song always brings me back. Humbling, I'd even say.
I bought tickets (Ohio) and can remember it like yesterday. The Smithereens opened 1st, then Cinderella then Bon Jovi. It was my favorite concert up to that point and still in my top 3 ever.
I remember around 1983 I went to a RATT concert and the opening act was an unknown band out of NJ called Bon Jovi. They had a cool little song called Runaway. Bon Jovi concerts were always a blast though. Knocked my highschool GF up at the NJ concert
The music video for this song does chaotic things to my brain. The song is all about heartbreak, relationship pain, angst, and drama. The video is exactly what Lex said: "happy energy." It's done like a live show, and the guys are just rocking out, big smiles, looking like they're having a great time, happy as can be, just goofing off and having a blast with it. Which is a total contrast to the darker, more pained vibe of the lyrics.
Can I suggest some more Australian music? INXS is one Aussie band as is AC/DC but there is Midnight Oil (Beds are Burning would be a good one), Australian Crawl singing Reckless etc, The Sports, Daddy Cool too many to mention.
Greatest era of music ever. Period. It was fun, fun, fun. I didn’t know a single person that didn’t own this album. EVERYONE owned Slippery When Wet. This album was MASSIVE!
80's rock concerts were the BOMB! I went to every major act from 80 thru 88/89 (got married and then no more concerts :-( No more long hair, no more rock bands (played guitar in 4 decent bands), no more street racing, no more keggers, but hey... I'm still alive which would have been questionable, there's that...
If you like that rock energy that wakes you up, check their vids of Bad Medicine and Lay Your Hand On Me. If you want power ballads, Bed Or Roses, Always or any one BEFORE the 2000s. Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard and Aerosmith were certainly the 4 biggest glam/hard rock bands all over the world in the 80s and 90s.
I was at their concert in the 80s, when they filmed their 'Lay Your Hands On Me' video..I went two nights in a row AND IT WAS LIT🔥Btw..That song Lay Your Hands On Me' is a pretty jammin song! As per usual! Can't go wrong with Bon Jovi!

If they don't know, then do your homework and go to bed!
One of my first girl friends in high school loved this band. She lived in the Burbs so I would ride my bike 12 miles every day out to her house to hang out after I got off work. I would peddle back home, do my homework, do other people's homework, go to sleep a couple hours, go to school, collect my money for doing other peoples' homework, go to work, and peddle back to her house. Inevitably, sadly, she lived up to the lyrics.
Saw Bon Jovi with Cinderella in 1986. My buddy and I were front stage center. Place was packed, we had girls climbing on our shoulders to get to stage just to get touched by both bands. Girls were getting overheated and passing out. We would have to pick them up and the crowd would move them above there heads until they could get to open pit areas to be looked at. The lead singer of Cinderella was so drunk he fell of the stage and my buddy and I picked him up and set him back on the stage. I've been to tons of concerts, but this one is in my top 5. No fights. I saw Bon Jovi on this tour "Slippery when Wet", when I was in high school. We had decent seats in the arena not too high up. It was a great concert, except during the middle of the show Jon Bon Jovi told a sappy love story. But great show over all at the Erwin Center in Austin. I didn't see any beer bottles being broken & it was before mosh pits..
I still remember listening the radio when my local station debuted this song. It was the summer before my 6th grade year. I had heard bands like Ratt and Def Leppard before this but it seemed like the beginning of something…and it was. For the next 3 years or so these bands were what you heard on the radio and I loved it all. They were never my favorite band but they jump started my love of the genre.
My favorite bon Jovi song has, and always will be, runaway :) also, you NEED to listen to Loverboy. Either "turn me loose", or "lovin' every minute of it"

They were once mighty and I will never take that away from them, but they haven't done a great album since These Days. Spectacular album. Never liked much of anything after that. But those 80's/90's albums are fire.

At the guitar solo...saw you Brad....holding back a smile starting to creep out of the left of your mouth. Hair band not mosh....breaking bottles was Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio...scariest concert I ever went too.
Went to the "Slippery When Wet" concert. They killed it. They had a scaffolding set up that dropped down in front of the balcony. Jon walked up the scaffolding ramp and played a song so the balcony had a front row seat. Thought it was an awesome idea.
