    Plants make their own sugars through photosynthesis.
    Translocation is the movement of materials from leaves to other tissues throughout the plant. And its mainly achieved by flowing the cells which arranged ends to ends to form long columns that called float and tubes.
    Transpiration involves loss of water vapour through the stomata of plants. All the water molecules is is being arranged into one long chain then every tongue of water evaporates from leaf out of the stomata, drags the rest of the chains up slightly pulling along another water molecule.

    • @Cognitoedu
      @Cognitoedu  5 років тому +47

      Hi Hans thanks for the comment! Understanding the water gradient bit will rely on you knowing about ‘osmosis’ - which is the rule that water particles will move from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration. If you haven’t already, give our video on it a quick watch and then rewatch the bit about humidity/airflow. Hopefully the explanations will then make a bit more sense! 👍

    • @nihaal7750
      @nihaal7750 3 роки тому +4

      Hmmm... so here‘s the deal!
      To understand the role of airflow in the process of transpiration we ought to first try to understand what air flow really does! A constant airflow just means that the leaf is gonna have fresh air (here fresh indicates unsaturated or less humid air which is yet to be treated by the transpiring water from the plant) gushing over it always, maintaining a good concentrantion gradient, thereby helping water transpire more easily!
      Hope it helped!
