Ugh! Removing even one orca from the wild has devastating consequences for the pod and leaves lifelong emotional scars. All nine orcas at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Hengqin, Zhuhai, were taken from their ocean homes and they were all between the ages of 6 and 13. By buying these animals, wild-caught from Russian seas, the facility is supporting a merciless and mercenary industry. #dontbuyaticket #emptythetanks
@@CATSWITHKYLA They were, this group was and still is a family. They captured the pod and never separated them. Which explains why they are no signs of agression between them in 10 years
Sadly China has had a boom in building aquariums, and as a status symbol several of them purchased wild caught orca from Russia. None of these animals needed rescuing or rehabilitation. They were captured to be bred and sold to other aquarium. Luckily activists in Russia have been working tirelessly to stop wildlife trafficking like this. Aquariums like this contribute to harming the planets oceans, not protecting them.

Wow!!! Tyson is huge it’s sad they coped Seaworld they even named there matriarch Katinka 😅lol the matriarch of Seaworld Orlando is Katina there trying to hard
Wow…I’ve never seen an orca tank that big. It’s actually nice that it’s big like that. Also, there is a baby in there, are they being bred? Like I figured out these animals were captured which PISSES ME TF OFF!! But if they’re naturally mating then that’s fine.
Most of those Orcas, as opposed to the Orcas at Sea World, Marineland Antibes and Loro Parque, are captured. They are just starting the second generation. Russia still captures Orcas and sells them. That's where those adults come from. It's really sad too. Sea World got a breeding ban instead of a building permit to extend its Orca habitat. I think those plans were Chimelongs inspiration actually. They have a wave machine for the Orcas and Sea World planned an artifical fast current.
@@p4nzz__ Not at Chimelong. The mainpool is the only one visible to guests and they always have at least most of the pod out there. The viewing windows are always open to visitors, wouldn't make much sense to keep the animals where they can't be seen.

This group has been kept together since their capture. I don't approve this method to get orcas but at least this family has not been separated
@@raptorblack2269 Since their capture but before they were not family and no matter what humans want to say they will never be family.

These beautiful beings shouldn’t be in these hellish tanks. Shame on whatever horrible country still does this. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
China, Japan and Russia still allow for wild orcas to be caught for public display. 😩

@@dragongirl89115 disgusting. We all know China doesn’t give a single fu*ck about animal rights. I hate that country.

I don’t think they knew Katinas name or even Katina in general at the time when they named her..
把虎鯨關在海生館就不要讓牠反噬殺人!已經有很多被圈養的虎鯨殺人了....😩
Что с этими прикрасеыми животнами делают акеонариумы.
Force them to entertain humans and keep them on display in small tanks. 😢

what you’re seeing is just the show pool. captive orcas spend the rest of their time in the back pools which are typically much smaller.

I think they are being bred
it’s at a holding facility where they hold the pregnant whales
