Imagine having such solid fundamentals that you can just first try, land a trick you’ve maybe never even tried before.

just remember that you can do it too
With certain tricks it comes naturally, if you have a few of them on lock and you add them together you’re going to end up landing a whole new trick, for an example if you practice enough kickflips over and over again to the point where you don’t miss a single one anymore then you can try incorporating another trick that you may have into the kickflip whether it be a popshuv to make a varial flip, or backside 180 to make bs flip etc. I remember the first time I landed a hardflip was randomly first try and it was in a game of skate with a friend of mine so it makes sense how lucas did that biggerflip, it be like that sometimes

@@davidzelaya1994 idk if it works like that, my kickflips are like glue, rarely miss them on most obstacles, ive tried to backside flip and ive gotten lucky with a couple. Lucas just built different thats all

Wow Lucas' spins are so sick. I feel like there should have been a letter on that front side three tbh, the rule specifically says if your opponent pops their trick you have to as well and Lucas popped his SO much and Gustavo definitely did not.
It doesn't say pop as much or something, how exactly can you do a front 3 without popping at all? He definitely needed more rotation tho
@@blud8875 he slid the last ~90°. That's what the rule is for. You can't slide a trick when your opponent pops it.
@@non_brewed_condiment I think we get the rule in a different way haha because there was the fact of popping even though he slid the last part. I think "don't slide on the ground " rule is more about tricks like 360 shuvs, when guys don't pop at all from the beginning

@@juancereijo2221 That's a dated naming standard. Skate publications, pros, and as you can see, the berrics, all say frontside halfcab even though caballerials were originally done backside.

Steve Caballero himself said on the Nine Club that half cabs can also be frontside. They just can't be nollie. So yeah, when the guy the trick was named after says they can be frontside, that kind of settles it. But the original half cab was indeed backside, and Steve said he's never actually done one frontside yet.

This was a great game the energy was perfect and I think a lot of it was because of Lucas when he landed that bigger flip and was so hyped it just made me smile hella big. Sad he lost he seems like a great dude.
I don’t know about that front 3 at 2:48- pretty sure Lucas “popped” that thing all the way around and Gustavo “slid” the last 90- other than that super clean game!

It’s on defense tho. If u go back all the way since the beginning of BATB there have been probably 50+ 360’s like that which they let slide. Matter of fact I’d say the 360 variations are probably the tricks they give the most leeway on out of any other trick

i think the front 3 was difficult to rule against but i think it was one of the most vivid examples of no sliding your trick if your opponent popped, it is a front 3 but it’s not the same front 3 the person before did
