Have had to sing it every time Ive watched matches from tv’s that are on Peacock 🦚 while Bugsy McGraw falls off the top rope on some guy and called it a splash for the show opening
Bro, I watched some WCCW for the first time the other day and that blew my mind. I had watch some of their super shows on UA-cam but never their regular show and as soon as I heard it I was like “CALL STEPHEN P NEW, IF YOU WANT TO SUE”
Packed full with screaming crowds, the balls to the wall hard hitting style, enough Mexican style wrestling to add a different flavor, intense personal rivalries was what ECW wanted to emulate from WCCW's product. Texas wrestling with a modern setting.
Jim thinks anywhere he has heard of was "world famous" , Motherfudger that shed wasnt even U.S famous most people outside the U.S had never even heard of Madison Square Garden in the 80s
CONGRATULATIONS... for being 2nd you win... SWEET FUCK ALL.. had you been 3rd or 4th you would have won... NOT A DAMN THING.. in other words... GET A LIFE
In allot of ways it was. And in some ways it was goofy. I mean with WWF they had Mae Young giving birth to a HAND..... They were just so obsessed with ratings that Vince started resorting to cheap garbage like THAT to heat WCW in ratings. Then having Mark Henry get tricked by a Tranny? Smh. Then WCW went TV-14 and started being every bit as filthy as WWF they never CAUGHT ON that the reason ppl watched them more at times was because they was ust straight wrestling and the cheap garbage wasnt really going on there. They was an alternative to Vince's Jerry Springer type wrestling..... There was ALLLOT of stupid things from that era.... But the good did outweigh the bad tho so..... Good thing Steve Austin wasn't afraid to stand up to Vince and keep Vince from ruining his character. OTHERWISE by late 1998 he would have been jobbing to goldust knowing Vince. That is something these young guys don't do. They DONT SPEAK UP. And they don't ask for more money or anything like that. They don't have that drive and that vision the older guys did. The old guys went through a bunch of territories before they got to WWF which made them understand the business and they learned the business the RIGHT WAY. By the time they DID get to the top (WWF) they knew wth they were doing creatively and they knew every trick in the book BUSINESS wise and knew their worth. The new guys have NONE OF THAT. They haven't been taught anything.
@@coreyhall1150 I do agree that people no longer understand the adversarial relationship that is employment. You goal as employee is to get as for as little as you can. Your boss has the same goal. Ideally you meet in the middle where both can be happy. Nowadays wwe wrestlers make good money, but their either on top or bitter in the least productive way possible. Smh
It's always fitting to be talking wrestling at the Sportatorium followed by Stephen P New's theme song, which is WCCW's old tv theme music.

I love the moment in the podcast that "explains" the artwork, it's at 6:14 in this case 😂
I love it
I always click on Corny but had to know why he was throwing a cat.
Sometimes I play my lottery numbers by that spot mark .
As a person who live in Dallas, Tx...that place doesnt exist no more.
Big enough to throw a cat through. Love the art inspiration lol
This is the funniest one. Big Thumbs up to Mr. Heckle.
Both sides of my family are from Kentucky so I've heard the "sling a cat" line a million times, threw everything
I went to the World Famous Sportatorium in 1991 and had to pay to park across the street in a run down furniture store.
Dallas invented the margarita machine
I think it was also a concert venue.

May it live forever
Jim throwing the cat is hilarious
There's some stray cats in my neighborhood leaving Vince Russos all over my backyard that I'd like to throw thru a wall.
Raw is war baby🔥
Jim thinks anywhere he has heard of was "world famous" , Motherfudger that shed wasnt even U.S famous most people outside the U.S had never even heard of Madison Square Garden in the 80s
Mama Cornette has a lot of interesting phrases didn’t she…
I thought this was going to be a well known quote attributed to someone else but nope. We at least know where Jim gets it from.

The monday night wars were the best period in wrestling history

Why does ever story about WCCW somehow involve a cat?
