Great to see you taking out so much lawn! I've seen other "Certified Wildlife Habitat" videos here where a small corner of the lawn was removed to make way for a pollinator garden with almost zero native flowers in it. It was cool to see the birds running across the ground!
Hi Alec! 👋 Geez, we apologize for the delay in responding! We live in Washington state and, you're right, vinca can be invasive here too. We actually filmed a different video about removing invasive vinca (because it can take over an area fast if not controlled). Thanks for watching and commenting! 😀
Thanks for the video, loved it! I love the wildlife surrounded by my neighborhood. Do you get a lot of animals besides birds? I had some house sparrows nest in my homemade bird house!
Hi Mr Rest's! 👋 Thank you for saying that. And we also love watching the wildlife around us! Oh yeah, birds, squirrels, raccoons, and other critters. The wildlife make our garden so much more interesting. We feel grateful to have them.
@@SpokenGarden I love my garden as well, I live near woods, so I see a good amount of wildlife. It’s awesome to watch the animals and give them home, food, water and some protection!
@@SpokenGarden no, not for the koi. But it was fun. I don't remember if he had to have certain things to qualify. I was in like 5th grade and anything nature was in my lane.
I love seeing you two as a couple brought together by nature ❤ true bonding and love... Its the bee's knees 😊❤❤❤
Oh, thank you for saying that! 💚💚

Hi trumpetingangel!! 👋 Thank you for watching and for saying that. Those birds really likes what we created for them. .👍😃😉
I can definitely relate to you guys, I’ve been always doing this stuff to my gardens as well, so I was like “why not certify it”!!🌿
Nice! ☺️
Thank you!
Im not sure where you are but in the United States Vinca is invasive so that might be another reason to take it out....

Me pop's and I got our front yard a certified wildlife area back in the early 90's. Watched birds, tried a koi pond. Raccoons ate em.
That's awesome! Not for the koi though..😬

Yaaaay bird-nerds! Us too 😊 I've been thinking about looking into this for our back yard- this was great info!
