Jacob, I love your videos because they are fun and interesting. But I really like you because you have a big heart. You are so kind and empathetic. Thank you for showing us the smaller towns in NC and what those people are going through.
There is so much devastation, so many people and animals lost their lives, homes and businesses totally destroyed that we wouldn't know about without videos like these. Thank you Jacob and Jenn for sharing these with us. ❤❤

Dealing with charities in a crisis is so hard because lots of people have lots of opinions, so it becomes a battle of wills. Each charity is personal, like you said, and everyone will have to do their own research before giving money. Back during Katrina, when we were helping take in victims and survivors, we dealt with the same thing here in Texas. It was a lot. I'm just glad you're suggesting help and showing the world what's going on from a ground level. Thank you for putting it into perspective.
Jacob, I just discovered you a couple of days ago, when you toured Asheville. I am from that whole area, from Sylva to Asheville, and went to school in Boone. My heart hurts. My mother passed away a year ago in May. She loved her dear mountains. She was from Sylva. I miss her deeply, and I'm grateful she didn't have to see this. I don't know how Sylva fared, but relatives there are okay. I so appreciate the way you present in these videos. You display great emotional intelligence. Your comments on FEMA, and The Red Cross were needed. My best to you, and everyone there and in Florida. Thank you for what you do.
Samaritans Purse came to my little village Ruidoso, NM, when the wildfires devastated us this year. To be honest it was more impactful when people gave directly to other people.
Adam the Woo is a fool for staying in town. This storm should be a reason to leave town or even out of state....I think it's time for an actual Miami set of vlogs.
@@acatic80they’re telling people inland to stay put because they should be okay. The roads are already stopped up because of everyone evacuating so those people would be making it worse. I have a ton of friends in Orlando who are staying because that’s what they were told to do
I feel like the extra views your videos got was the reason it had so much hate in the comments, I feel as though your normal audience is not like that at all, most, if not all, of the people who normally watch your stuff normally are people that are like you, kind, caring, and compassionate people. It's so hard navigating this modern internet day and age where it seems like theres somebody with a negative opinion about anything, but as long as you feel as thought you are doing what you feel is right, it really shouldn't matter what others think, to a degree. I can tell just how much this area means to you and I can't imagine what the people out there are going through. Keep up the great content Jacob, and fuck the haters!
Jacob, I am so sorry for the folks of your home state of North Carolina. Such an overwhelming heartbreak! I can’t imagine what it would feel like. Probably a lot of shock and numbness at first. It looks like people are trying to get their homes and businesses cleaned out to start the hard work of rebuilding. God bless them.
At 15:08 in this video, you show a husky statue laying on its side in the rubble. It looks intact and if it's an heirloom for that Clyde business, I might be able to bring it back to its original or better shape. I can't tell if it's concrete or not but I repair broken statues.

Thank you for these videos and for your message requesting kindness. I don't think that many people are coming from a place of hate in their heart. Things are heavy right now. People are scared. They feel angry. They feel helpless. They feel desperate. Much like animals will do, people lash out when they feel threatened. I'm trying to give everyone a little extra grace right now. To me, it's not *as* disheartening when you see it as fear instead of hatred. We all need a hug.
Absolutely be kind please ❤ sending hugs to you Jacob. I am worried about Milton I have a son who lives in Lakeland. My thoughts go out to anyone affected by horrible weather. Love and peace to everyone 💕
Thank you Jacob. Your message from the bunker is very much needed. I can only imagine how difficult it must be reading through comments here with all of the crazy misinformation and conspiracy theories. You don't have to set the record straight but you choose to and that is very noble and welcome and positive for this community. If your wise and calm words open the mind of just one person it's worth it. Keep it up brother!
I am so glad you have made these videos about the small towns and other areas. I am From Springfield Oregon. For many days you were the only one showing (Jenn Too) what was and is going on. The regular media is just now starting to show some of the devastation. I find it really sad that the media just kind of skimmed over North Carolina. It helped me make decisions on where and to whom to contribute to. So, thank you again, I really appreciate you. Empathy, kindness, and actually praying for others, treating others with kindness and a soft heart makes the world a better place. Just my own thoughts. 🐩🐩🐩🐩🐩
I went thru a flood once. Mud everywhere. House was spared by an inch inside. Shop, garage cars were not. You don't forget those things 40+ years later
Thank you for your coverage of the affected areas. The NC moutains are our home away from home and this is so heartbreaking. You're handling these videos with so much empathy and compassion, and I appreciate you keeping us updated on what it's like up there. I'm sorry for all the hate your comments had in the other video, I'm sending nothing but love and support your way. And prayers to those affected
As a FL native that transplanted to NC, my heart has never hurt this much 💔 Thanks for sharing what these states are dealing with. It’s unimaginable unless you’ve lived it and seen it firsthand.
Don’t let the haters get you down. You are doing a great job sharing the plight of those affected by this storm. You are well loved no matter what you post.
I am so sad that you had to make the end of this video but so glad you did! It’s fair to hold folks accountable but they need to understand how govt works from each city on up to the feds as well as the charities and the operational costs. I am so sad and sick of the misinformed hate and conspiracies…it’s hard to believe it exists at this level to be honest. It is wonderful to have folks like you showing compassion and empathy and helping others to see these issues with a different light. Thank you for all you have shared and my heart and condolences go out all that folks that are enduring and will continue to endure.
Monday morning I was driving down route 81 south on my way to Alabama. The number of power company bucket trucks heading towards TN and NC was staggering. it was a continual convoy of trucks from Kansas and other states coming into the area.
Thank you for uploading these hurricane videos. I watched the previous ones in complete silence and will most likely do the same with this one. We don't get hurricanes where I live, and watching your videos helps to put things in perspective. My heart goes out to all the people affected. I'm glad you and Jenn are okay.
A random thought I had while watching this video. I've seen a lot of bridges, both small and larger ones that have been destroyed by the flooding. It cost a lot of time, money and effort to rebuild those bridges. But, if you could redirect the flooding to wash out either end of a bridge, but leave the bridge relatively unhurt, it would take far less time to bring in fill dirt to repair the road on each end. I'm no architect, but maybe some bright people at NCSU could come up with something that would work. A "cow catcher" that comes down in flood stage and protects a bridge. Or maybe build drawbridges that can be raised. A drawbridge not to allow shipping to pass through, but to let rushing water and garbage have free flow.
we encourage giving to Samaritan's Purse or churches they are there for the long duration and Samaritan's Purse helps for years during the rebuilding process, we have friends who worked with them for years and have only good things to say about their charity with first hand knowledge thier experience was not second hand, and I trust their experience because I know them character
Yep, biggest time of the year up there, I am one of the sidecar folks who is up there this weekend normally. The KOA we use is in Swannanoa... This is when they make most of their money. This is going to hurt for a while. Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley somehow was untouched, but folks near them wiped. Man...unreal.
I'm disappointed that you had that happen, I saw your video and I appreciated it very much. I did not say anything, just gave a thumbs up. I think, I hope, that there were many more like me who liked your video and did not feel the need to add anything else but I do appreciate your channel and what you do!
I agree. I know it's hard to not get hung up on the negative comments but I hope Jacob looks at all the positives such as thumbs up and know he is appreciated.

Hi! I didn't see people necessarily upset about Red Cross, I think that there is a lot of awareness and concern right now on the subject. I do agree that we should do our research before donating our money. Thank you for the discussion on the topic! It is definitely in the spotlight in this situation and people are concerned about citizens getting the help they need. Agreed that we need to speak fairly and thoughtfully vs irresponsible vitriol.
A sad story that needed to be told. So glad so many people are helping with things like bottled water etc and to those firemen God Bless you for your service......
Thank you,Jacob for sharing your perspective of small towns damaged by the hurricane. I’m in Upstate NY, lived with family for 23 years in Brevard and moved back to Syracuse in 2006. It is heartbreaking seeing all the devastation. Soup kitchens, shelters and food banks are greatly appreciated for monetary donations, I will be doing so for Brevard ❤️
Tough to see all this. As a kid we vacationed in Gatlinburg and always made a couple of days to stay around Cherokee, Maggie Valley and Bryson City area.
I’m glad you do what you do! You document places just like all of these, that are changed now, some that will not be back as they once were, many very big parts of our memories for so many years. You documented Ghost Town a good while back. Chimney Rock, that one is definitely going to take a lot of time to restore. Even the highways, 26, 40, 9, 276, those will take a good while to restore. You’ve done great Jacob, and you have also documented history, on video, to always look back on. 👍🏻
Such a tragic event. I live in eastern NC and the outpouring of love from various communities in support of those affected has been inspiring. Wishing these people the best as they rebuild.
Thank you, Jacob, for your video updates and your message of kindness and caring. People can always be responsible and investigate charities for themselves and educate themselves about how government actually works. Thank you again for your common sense and generosity of spirit. ❤
Thank you for this video, I love that area and what happened hurts my heart what has happened. On a lighter note, have you ever met Miss Maggie? She's a volunteer with the Maggie Valley Chamber of Commerce. Once things start getting back to normal it might be fun video if you did something with her.
Thank you so much for showing Maggie Valley. I’ve been trying to find out how to was doing. My family have spent time at the ski area and that mountain.
Jacob I know you will but please keep the people in western Florida in your thoughts and prayers. I mean I’m in that path. Fortunately I live a good distance from the water so flooding won’t be a problem for me and my neighborhood has underground power lines
First video I've seen of yours, because I searched on Maggie Valley. Congrats on being a nice guy with a nice channel. Maybe 10 years ago I stayed there a few days while playing poker on electronic poker tables at Harrah's Cherokee. I stayed in a nice, simple little motel owned by a fairly young couple. It was off season, and I was one of the few people there at the time, happy to see my money go to them rather than some big corporate hotel. Fun drive to and from Cherokee, in iffy weather.
Thank you for doing this Jacob. All you hear about are the places that were catastrophically hit on the news, but nothing about places that aren't as bad. I get it, but this was a breath of fresh air if you will. Thank you again, and keep on doing what you do. Tell Jen, Victor from the high desert area of California, said hi please.
You don't need to apologize. Everyone has their own ideas of charitiable organizations and also political views are part of their thought processes as to the best or worst organizations.
Stay safe jacob and jenn especially with that hurricane hanging around florida and that area . Humanity is strong they will rebuild but sadly some things you cannot . I bet the fire department have thought yes we need water but not that much
This devastation is terrible to see and I’m heartbroken for all of those who’ve been so affected. I’m hoping, though, that you’ll make a note in your diary to make a new video in a year’s time to show us how the town has fully recovered. As I’m sure it will.
Thanks for the compassionate way you are covering the tragedy. You're better off not even mentioning groups to donate to as someone will end up getting their panties in a wad.
I live in canton NC and the dragon place was a pet store and the water had gotten almost as tall as the building itself the town of canton greatly appreciates you and what you are doing bringing awareness
Hey Jacob, just an FYI on the Gunstore. Gun store owners lock all guns in safes or have roll cages thay cover displays. They don't just leave guns sitting in glass cases when leaving. Any guns there at all are perfectly safe from being looted. Just want to put that out there. No sense in unnecessarily making a store a target for those who don't understand how it works.
Thank you for talking and showing us your home Town and nearby cities. I am in Pensacola Florida and have been spare by these storms. Very little rain. Check in on Adam bro. 😊 Stay safe.
I can see from your whole demeanour how this has affected you maybe you need to step away from this now you've done your bit by putting out there but before you let it get to your very soul and take you down a dark path of depression look after you and Jen ❤❤❤❤

It is definitely in the spotlight in this situation and people are concerned about citizens getting the help they need. Agreed that we need to speak fairly and thoughtfully vs irresponsible vitriol.
I thought that too. I wasn't thinking people were upset. They were just wanting to say it was not an organization they would recommend.
You did a very good job filming and narrating this video! Keep up the good work...
Excellent video of multiple towns damage ❤
A sad story that needed to be told. So glad so many people are helping with things like bottled water etc and to those firemen God Bless you for your service......
Thank you for the update, Jacob. Praying for friends and family in Florida. Please take care of each other. Hugs!
glad Jacob, Jenny Penny and faithful felines are ok.
Great job, Thank you,,
I lived in Canton 35 years ago. It breaks my heart to see this town in the shape it is. I pray old school friends are safe. Thank you for this video.
Tough to see all this. As a kid we vacationed in Gatlinburg and always made a couple of days to stay around Cherokee, Maggie Valley and Bryson City area.
Fully agree and support you in your comments at the end of the video.👍
Thank you for showing Maggie Valley. It's my favorite place to visit. ❤
North Carolina and everybody are in my prayers very sad situation breaks my heart😢
Well spoken Bags . Well spoken . Love ya brother.
Thank you for video really sad sending prayers for all.
Thank you, Jacob, for your video updates and your message of kindness and caring. People can always be responsible and investigate charities for themselves and educate themselves about how government actually works. Thank you again for your common sense and generosity of spirit. ❤
Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for this video, I love that area and what happened hurts my heart what has happened.
On a lighter note, have you ever met Miss Maggie? She's a volunteer with the Maggie Valley Chamber of Commerce. Once things start getting back to normal it might be fun video if you did something with her.
i live in Hendersonville. some areas here got hit pretty hard. but other area's not so bad
I’ve gotten more information about what’s really going on from you than any news report.Appreciate the hard work.❤
Sending Hope, Strength, and Love from Minnesota! 🙏🇺🇸
Thank you so much for showing Maggie Valley. I’ve been trying to find out how to was doing. My family have spent time at the ski area and that mountain.
Jacob, thank you so much for all you do and being yourself and honest!!! Keep up the good work.
Thank you for sharing this footage. The small towns are just as important as the big ones.
Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been concerned about Maggie; my family loves camping there. It’s good to see that they’re mostly ok.
Jacob I know you will but please keep the people in western Florida in your thoughts and prayers. I mean I’m in that path. Fortunately I live a good distance from the water so flooding won’t be a problem for me and my neighborhood has underground power lines
Sending all of you my best as well. I'm hoping the weather people got it wrong and it won't be as bad as they are thinking.
Good Morning Jacob 🙋🏽. Thank You for inviting me to watch your video and Thank You for the update. ❤
Glad your ok and your friends and family are ok
Love and prayers to my home I miss y’all ❤
You did a great job covering everything. Red Cross is a great charity . Hater’s are going to hate . Stay safe.
You don't need to apologize. Everyone has their own ideas of charitiable organizations and also political views are part of their thought processes as to the best or worst organizations.
NC strong 🙏
Thankmyki for covering Maggie valley! I'm going in the next few weeks to stay for a few days! I want to spend some money and support them!
Stay safe jacob and jenn especially with that hurricane hanging around florida and that area . Humanity is strong they will rebuild but sadly some things you cannot . I bet the fire department have thought yes we need water but not that much
Thank you for your empathetic coverage. Well done...
You are awesome
Hey Jacob, just an FYI on the Gunstore. Gun store owners lock all guns in safes or have roll cages thay cover displays. They don't just leave guns sitting in glass cases when leaving. Any guns there at all are perfectly safe from being looted.
Just want to put that out there. No sense in unnecessarily making a store a target for those who don't understand how it works.
I appreciate it, wasn’t sure how that worked, good to know
Thank you for talking and showing us your home Town and nearby cities. I am in Pensacola Florida and have been spare by these storms. Very little rain. Check in on Adam bro. 😊 Stay safe.
The cleanup in Maggie Valley was done very quickly. The main visible damage at this point isn't visible from Hwy 19.
I've been a fan for nearly 10
years
Jacob thank you for speaking about what you said at the end. We need to stop the madness and come together. I’m so tired….soo tired!
Sending much love from England,,, ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
People always support your local small towns and businesses over there has they needed it then they even need it more now .
I can see from your whole demeanour how this has affected you maybe you need to step away from this now you've done your bit by putting out there but before you let it get to your very soul and take you down a dark path of depression look after you and Jen ❤❤❤❤
Great video as always
I pray we can rebuild and brace for florida(p.s. I heard it’s now categor FIVE
