i was actually kinda sad when the game was finished, (even in marks and jacks play throughs) it such a amazing game, team salvato did a OUTSTANDING job. I wish the game would have never ended + the cool theory from The Game Theorists.

@Jibby Ali, When I first saw DDLC I scoffed at it because it was anime. When I played DDLC ironically, I HATED Monika, then I completed the game and I feel big regret for deleting her. Now I downloaded “Monika After Story”, even though I still hate anime.

The best game I’ve ever played. It’s a game that appears cute, then becomes horrific, then ends it off with beauty. Never cried so much after playing a game.

I second this, act 2 is so gruesome but the ending was always just tragic to me. There is beauty, if not happiness, in the literature club.
Ngl themes are also fire. I dont know why but i feel like its not "gibberish" like rush e. Its like a calm. But also has much detail song and it could be remembered easily
I can proudly say after 5 YEARS of extremely inconsistent practice that I have learned the first half of the song. See you all in another 5 years when I learn how to play the rest 😅

The thing about this song is that there are barely any flats or sharps, if any, which is exactly what most songs or pieces played by beginners contain, no flats nor sharps. When Monika said she was a beginner, she wasn't kidding.

I actually didn’t cry watching Titanic. DDLC got me crying and hyperventilating from emotional overload, and some of the best mods for it have done the same. VNs are truly a magical blend of visual and written media.

I've gone trough Doki Doki like 12 times, and this song still makes me cry. Especially the line where Monika says, "If I don't know, how to love you, I'll leave you be."
this game has an amazing soundtrack.

"sayonara" never fails to give me goosebumps.
"play with me" ALWAYS sounds distorted in my ears (i swear every time i hear that piano i feel like it's bitcrushed and something REALLY bad is going to happen)

@@loljay3281 I found a way to actually really like this song - by watching jacksepticeye's playthrough series while I was on Zoloft. Also, I have worked very hard to be objective about all girls, real or fake, and I kinda already knew going into the playthrough that this is a really messed-up game just from reading the Wikipedia article about it (which nobody should ever do before they play the game themselves and fully experience it). I could already see that all the characters had problems, even at the beginning, so I took a step back and didn't involve myself emotionally in the game too much

Never played piano before, but I've been learning this for about 3 weeks, and I'm about a minute in (about to start the second verse), so if you think you can't learn this, with just 10-20 minutes a day you'll have it down in 2-3 months, which sounds like a long time, but then you can play this beauty every day for the rest of your life, so I believe in you fellas

@@coolice5786 So far it's been fairly easy, I've been going over the first minute over again for a bit, just perfecting it, and I've dabbled in other sections. The main difficulty with this is combining the left and right hand in time with one another, which takes up the bulk of the learning time, but once the first half is complete, I reckon the rest will be a relative breeze, as the piece is rather repetitive. Happy playing!

When you hear this song firsthand without any context, it sounds lighthearted yet when you try to understand the lyrics, you can see that its a bittersweet song of someone who loves yet her(monika) emotions don't reach that special someone(mc). But once you truly understand the story and the meaning behind each and every words, it truly chills me to the bones, the sadness, regret, and the wish of having the strength to reach a hand to someone who was deemed to be the villain but more so of a lost sheep, desperately trying to find her shepherd but the world rejecting that and ultimately denied by the one she thought was her saving grace from the cruel world that has forsaken her. Truly a good example of how a context on something shifts your idea to a full 180 when you thought that you already knew something inside out.
Lol so this was me trying to apply all my knowledge about summarization of a story, consider it a shit-post of some sort.

Written words are the easiest way for her to convey her thoughts to the player, but so as not to scare them off or make the others suspicious, she puts them in poem form.

The ink being the coding, and the dark puddle being her messing up the coding. When you spill ink on paper, it is effectively impossible to rectify. You have to start again. If she doesn't feel it the same way as us, she'll leave us alone and allow us to get on with our lives, accepting her fate to be deleted, loving without being lived for it due to a mistake she made which cost the lives of her friends and the trust of the one she loves causing them to hate her. It also shows how she is finally letting go and effectively forbidding the player from entering that "hell" by deleting the game.

I am probably late but I can give a tip, first it's better to practice the right hand parts and then mastering it. After you learnt the right-hand parts, you can learn the left hand parts and then practice by putting both of them together. It's a technique my old teacher tought me.
