Her father is Jamaican and her mother is NATIVE american. Native american means what? They were the Indians here before we even settled to make this country. Jamaica is in the Caribbean. By calling herself black she is trying to appeal to the struggle of African Americans by saying shes with them when shes not. And we have the evidence of that back when she called herself Indian and even before that when she called herself Asian.

Just because someone had some whiteness in their family tree doesn't make their experience any less Black. A child of a Jamaican will be treated the same way as a Black child whose parents were born in the US. And, if you don't think there was no slavery in Jamaica, then you don't know where the Black person in Jamaica happened to arrive there. That doesn't mean a person can't experience and relate with multiple aspects of their cultural backgrounds. I'm sure that she has had the experience of being followed through a store more than once. I haven't had those experiences, yet I have talked to people about their experiences as being Black. Have you asked your Black co-workers what kind of experiences they have had simply by being Black, and if they think her experiences would have been substantially different?

This is a rough estimate but you cannot deny 17% is a significant part of the population.
